High Risk Pregnancy ~ General Discussion and Support

Beema that's great news about your ob supporting a breech birth!!! Sorry the ECV didn't work but at lease the foot is out of your cervix now.

Mammaspice hope your check up went well.

Crumpet hope your cervix is looking good.

AFM the ctx lasted for four days but never really got strong enough or close enough for it to progress I just ended up tired grumpy. I have made it 38 weeks though, so not really high risk now which is great. Had a checkup and now I just have to wait.

    everyone!

Beema, awesome news hun! So great your ob will support breech birth.

black_rose, how frustrating! I bet you are at the point now where you just want it to happen So good for you to reach term though

Aww, your baby shower will be so special Crumpet

Hi csab, butterflyforever, jennajayen and anyone else I've forgotten.

Well AFM all is going good here. My Ob appointment went really well. He is very happy to comply with my CS birth plan. Had a scan and CTG today. Bub is measuring 3.9kg already at 37 weeks mg: And he has the cutest chubby cheeks CTG went well although they had me on it for nearly 2 hours as bubs was asleep and they wanted to see some good elevations in his heart rate.

I have a birth date, which is co-incidently my dads birthday - hopefully a good omen
I might keep it secret for now but lets just say I'm going to be a mummy of 2 in less than 2 weeks time

Yay Mamaspice what wonderful news on having a date for your c/s and being your dads b'day as well. What a wonderful size your bub is and at 37wks. lol. I cant wait to hear your birth announcement and to see how accurate the measurements were in regards to weight. How exciting hun. hugs

Blackrose - Omgoodness I hope those contractions start up again soon for you. With one of my pgcy's I had contractions the week before labour started exactly, they stopped and the following week started up again into true labour. GL hun, we are all so excited for you too. Yay for hitting the 38wk mark too. hugs

Crumpet - September isnt too far away now hun, I have every faith in you that your going to make it way past September. I sooo cant wait to hear how your u/s goes next week. hugs

Well I was very crampy last night, not sure if it had anything to do with how I got up from the recliner last night as I ended up with this sharp pain in my side when I did. I just tossed and turned all night from the crampiness. At least bubs decided to give me some reassurance and boot me a little bit. I was getting abit worried.

Thanks Crumpet hun. I cant believe how quickly time is flying. You will be here in another 3days. lol

Hope everyone is well, and how are these full term bubba's and mummas going? Black Rose and Mamaspice.

Beema - Hope all is going well hun and the pains have settled. hugs

Well feeling abit worried, I cant stand not feeling bubs movements, Im used to feeling them in pgcy. So of course with me not feeling movements as much as I would like, ( you know everyday) I worry. Sometimes I can go days without feeling bub. I should have a look at the last u/s report and see if it mentions the position of the placenta. Maybe this bub is just quiet. Hopefully soon I will feel bub more often and with definate movements.
I had such horrible dreams last night about bubs and DS. Probably why I am more worried today.
Anyway chat later ladies, hope your all well. hugs

Sorry i can't do personals and this is a copy and paste

Just a quick update I was in at my OB's office on the CTG this afternoon, due to constantly tight belly and tightenings, and I'm having contractions every 15 min, lasting 1.5-2m and quite strong, and inbetween a very irritable uterus that won't relax. So on a constant higher dose of Nifedipine, plus boosters of a quick relase form, and now on bed/couch rest for the net few days to hopefully slow everything down, my cervix is holding it's own at the moment so jsut gotta calm this baby and uterus down. Still got lots of baking to do before meeting this baby!

Hopefully DH will set things up so I can come on BB

Beema - Sorry your going through some more of a rough time, Im praying that the contractions settle for you and your little flicker stays put until full term. Hang in there hun. Lots of sticky sticky vibes. Hope the meds work, rest up as much as you can. hugs

Crumpet - Thanks hun, I checked my u/s report and it mentioned that the placenta is anterior so thats why Im not feeling the movements as much as I would like, you know everyday. lol. Hugs

    Hi mummies

I'm stuck on bed/couch rest now, with a constant dosage of 80mg of Nifedipine throughout the day, plus boosters of 10mg quick release Nifedipine to stop the ctx when I get them in runs. I had a pretty rough night with them last night 1 1/2 hours and they were just on top of each other, it was hard because I was lying down through them which feels like it is the complete wrong thing to do IYKWIM, but I felt that if I walked or rocked through them that it could encourage things to move. So have been feeling pretty sore and sorry for myself this morning, and hoping that tonight will be a better night, I had to have another booster this morning, but doing ok atm this afternoon with them much more spread out.

I thought that it was just Flicker moving and doing a big looooong stretch, so I am sure you can imagine my surprise when the CTG was recording ctx, and inbetween just going nuts because of my uterus being so irritated at least though know I now and we can get them under control.

My cervix was 3.4cm, but there was a bubble where it has opened which is 0.7cm, but no funnelling, so got a good 2.7cm, which is why I am not game to put any pressure on it.

A few personals while I can..

    Congrats on 20 weeks csab

Sending labour vibes your way Black Rose

Can't wait for your BA MummaSpice, I am glad you are still keeping the date a surprise, gotta have some secrets

I can't wait to hear your cervix measurement Crumpet, ~ sending you Loooooonnnnngggg cervix vibes!

I will be reading and posting when I can, MIL is coming down to help out from this arvo for a day or two and my parents are coming down for next weekend.

I am dissappointed that I won't get to take DD to the Playschool concert tomorrow we knew it was a risk when we booked the tickets but I really think that it would be ok.....

Well must go for now and will be keeping an eye on you all xxoo

Hey everyone still around, still contracting, but getting through the days and things aren't getting any worse so hopefully I can maintain this for a few more weeks.

Seems like another drama for me ~ we can't see to get a break, I've posted in the Punching Bag Boo Hoo thread, a big screw up with our 12 weeks scan and we get told about it last night at 29 weeks!!! So off for another growth scan, meeting with another OB from the US clinic and a genetic counsellor, there are 20 of us involved so I feel so much for all the other parents, because at least we have been having close and regular monitoring so keeping positive that everything is ok with Flicker.

Spoke with my OB's office this morning for a ctx update and to let her know about the scan time etc, 7:30pm tonight, I will post in the other thread or get my PIG to do it for me if she is going to be online or another BB'er if it is going to be too late. I will hear from her if she wants to follow up on anything or me to change my meds, but I see her next Tuesday, then we are officially on weekly appointments, although with tonights scan we are on them now!

Crumpet ~ What time is your scan on Thursday? Will be totally stalking for updates on that cervix length of yours

MamaSpice ~ woo hooo you are almost 38 weeks, fabulous hun, how are you feeling, I hope the hastles haven't started from people wanting to know when bubs is coming

BlackRose ~ How are you tracking along hun, I hope the family has pulled back and is giving you your space

Csab ~ bugger for the anterior placenta, it is amazing how much the positioning of it can affect what you can feel. Hopefully it won't be long and you will be getting some huge boots from that little bubba of yours

A big to everyone else, I hope you are all tracking along smoothly and baking nice fat chubby FT bubbas

oh my god!!! what a nightmare, just what u need on top of everything else!!!

hope everything comes back all good, but like u say lucky u have had heaps of monitoring so you would expect a issue would have been picked up by now!!

will be thinking of u tonight!!!

scan is at 4 all so DH can come!! i hate late appts ( says me and ur the one going at 730 tonight!) but im making him come to all appts and scans this time seeing he missed a lot last time..
i usually dont jump on at night, but i might pop in quickly and then do a full report on friday morning..... ill be a happy mummy as long as the good old cervix is over 3cm, any less than that and i might just loose the plot
