i don't think that's whining saph! venting, maybe and feel free!!!! i hope you find some relief. i can't imagine how difficult it is not to be able to get down with the boys (although i'm soon to find out - at least for a short time when my belly blows out).

it must be a nice feeling to know 'that's it, done' iykwim. I'll be glad when my baby making days are over as I don't love being preg or the newborn phase. i can't wait for a few year's down the track when the kids are old enough to wipe their own bums, feed themselves and take camping, fishing, riding, to museums etc etc.

marcellus - you are always so lovely and respond to nearly every post. but i realised I haven't really asked you how you are going? emotionally and physically i mean? ox

omg kelly - showing already! i feel the same tho lol and i'm only 1 month gone! hahaha. it feels like this kid is already pushing me about and making adjustments the way he/she wants it!

as you can probably guess by above. my BT results today were excellent. Went from 66 on Sunday to 262 today! so very happy with that result and no more pessaries either

thanks for all your good wishes Have one more BT to monitor the levels on Monday and then a viability scan week of nov 7.

Nah, I'm just avoiding the housework. I'm tired but otherwise doing very well, thank you I'm swimming and doing yoga, which I think has helped physically, and I'm very happy with my midwives, which helps me emotionally. So, on the whole, doing better than last time.
Great test results - you passed with flying colours!

Smithy: Congrats on making such a big decision. We still have 3 embryo's left and I've decided that once these 2 are born that my clinic will also be able to discard our remaining embryo's. If we were only having 1 more then we would have been tossing up about maybe having another but now there is no way I'm doing this again.

Saph: I hope you can get some relief soon, it must be so hard to be unable to move and still have the boys to look after. Take care of yourself.

Marcellus: So good to hear you are doing so well. Wow, not that long to go now...

Grub: Yay on your numbers, and I agree I can't wait until all mine are grown a bit and can play together and are easier to drag everywhere. A word of warning though.... I have just found out the hard way that having a mobile baby and morning sickness don't work well together, I feel so horrid everyday.

Well, things are moving along here. Tara has turned into a moving machine and she is all over the place now, I'm feeling very tired all day and getting pretty much all day nausea as well - roll on 2nd trimester. I think these babies are growing nicely though as I am always feeling stretching pains and at night I have even started to feel little 'butterflies'. I think they must be doing tandem rolls for me to feel them so soon.

Tara has grown so much recently as well, she is now developing so fast that I'm even considering giving up Mothers Group now and looking for alternative options for her. At MG she is one of the oldest babies and is now just bored with all the other younger babies as they don't do anything, she really now needs to mix with babies her own age and older to help keep her stimulated. I mainly go to MG for her benefit so I think I might start looking at playgroup options now... Has anyone else experienced this at all????

Hey Kelly (I'm back again!)
on the mother's group - i think it's more for the mothers' benefit really. Do you get along with the other mums ok? My honest opinion is that babies & young toddlers don't really interact with other kids anyway so it doesn't much matter about age differences etc for now. They like watching other kids, but don't do anything with them till 2+ usually. But if you think she needs something different, then sure. If she's moving now she'll probably love getting outisde and playing in the dirt and eating leaves and stuff Maybe think about different things to do or places to go with your mothers' group?

MG is ok but I'm one of the older mum's and sometimes just don't fit into the "younger" lifestyle anymore. I also had a very bad response from one of the other mothers when she found out about the twins... she is pregnant as well and due about 4 weeks ahead of me and when I told them all about the twins she commented that a freind of hers also had 2 babies put back but the stronger one "ate" the smaller one (ie: very bad wording of a vanishing twin), she then proceeded to tell me that that will probably happen to me when one of the babies died. I was gobsmacked at the time and still cannot believe someone would say something like that, especially as she is pregnant as well. So all up this has put a very big downer on MG for me as I really don't feel the need to share this pregnancy after that.

I might just play it by ear for a while......

I am the same Kelly...the oldest Mum by at least 10 years, and the token "hippy weirdo" who uses cloth nappies and doesn do controlled crying etc etc. I feel so out of place most weeks. We are also going to look at a playgroup next year, there is a montessori ones just around the corner that might be a goer.
And as for the insensitive mum what a tool to say something like that.

We went to the FS today to discuss number two and said how long can we wait being 41 and all, we would like a bit more time to enjoy Connor first. he goes "No Rush you can leave it for another 3 or 4 months if you like?" I am like WT? I'd hate to think what his version of need to rush is.......yeesh!

apparently.....LOL. He sent for one of those new AMH blood tests and is going to do a follicle scan to see how bad my egg reserve is...ho hum......two kids close together.....yikes!!!

oh kelly that's awful. but don't stop one ignorant person from you enjoying yourself. you never know, she probably peed off the other mum's as well if she's that tactless and cold. but big hugs to you and i completely understand where you are coming from.

lol melbel... the good ole 'close together trick'... be careful. it worked (thus far) for us!!! and now i'm freaking out.

question to the more epxerieenced mummas among us... my DH has gone away for 2 weeks. it's his first time away since bub was very very young (about 3 months old i think he was last time). Ash is 10 months and daddy usually is a huge part of his bedtime routine.

ever since DH left bub will only have maybe one short sleep during the day (he was having 2 - a shorter morning one and a longer arvo on just last week!) and at first he'd want to be in bed by 6pm and i would't hear him til 5am

but last night (and the night before although not as bad) he went to be at 6.30ish, woke thanks to screaming kids in the street (little sods) and took until 8pm to resettle. i dreamfed him at 9.30pm and wnet to bed... he then woke at 11.30, 12.30, 1.30, 2.30 gave abottle, 5am, 6a, and 7.15am!!!!

needless to say i check he wasn't wet/cold/hungry etc and if i went in and laid him back down he'd go to sleep but he just seemed to want me to help him back to sleep.

anyway i was already tired and needless to say i feel like i've been hit by a truck! argh. and this is only DH's first week away!

do you think that it's cos dh is away? (bub says dadada a lot during the day atm); do you think maybe i'm not stimulating him enough during hte day? (it's just us at home and the same toys etc) or is he going through a growth thingy and wants to drop his day sleeps (but both!)???

Grub, it could be the change in routine. It could also be a coincidence - not uncommon for babies to sleep awfully around that age. Could be teeth or an illness on its way.... By the time you figure it out it'll be over (hopefully). It may be that he needs some extra comfort/reassurance during the night at the moment (for one of the above or some other reason). Do you bring him to bed with you at all? That's what I always do if DS is like this.

You're his mummy - just talking to him is stimulation enough, so don't worry about that.

Hey Melbel, um thanks FS for that. I noticed you are in Victoria so while you are considering what to do I would recommend that you get all your paperwork in order ie: Police Checks, Dept of Human Services checks. This is now a standard requirement in Vic and without having all the checks in place your FS can't proceed with a transfer for you. When we were considering trying for #2 I spoke to my clinic who got the ball rolling for us, that was in May this year and we didn't do our first FET this time around until August.... So might be an idea to make sure all is done so when you decide to take the plunge you don't have to worry about all the other stuff.

yeah thanks Kelly...we got te paperwork yesterday while we were there...as well as an updated price list......yikes!! so much more expensive now!! Just waiting till tomorrow so I can ring and see what the AMH test shows...curious to see how bad my egg reserve considering I have a two maternal great-grandparents who had their last babies t 48 and 52 respectively...and both hubby and I were born when our mums were 40 so you never know......

Huge congrats Grubby. Ash souns like he si going through the exact same thing as Adam at the same age....in hindsight I think it was teething, and it went on pretty much for quite a fe weeks, but is now really much better. We are back to full night sleeps, so hang on tight, I hope it gets better for you soon! I did find taking him to bed with me helped enormously as he would settle far quicker. Now that he's over whatever it was, he certainly hasn't formed a habit of sleeping with me (which I was afraid of!).

Melbel, sounds like you have some genetics on your side if you want another bub! Good luck.


Kelly, that girl sounds like an imbecile. don't let her get you down and good luck finding alternative arrangements. I have just started Adam at playgroup and it is fantastic!!!! He loves it, we all have a cuppa and they are all similar ages which is great.

Hello to all you lovely girls and bubbies.

We have a huge shipping container organised for placement up at DH's parents property, so we are starting operation clean up after 10 years of emotional turmoil. It is still going to be many months before we see huge improvement, but i am one happy lady at the moment. so my little sojourn to Melbourne did help me thinks.

for the shipping container neptune and bigger yay it's not at your place lol. That is such a fantastic outcome.... that way he still 'has' his stuff but it's contained (der grub, shipping container). I bet you are such a happy happy lady

a few WEEKS!! not sure if i can handle that. and worse, he's got all 8 of his 'first' teeth through already.. omg more can't be on the way???

I took him to the doc yesterday, he has red throat and suspect a virus (isn't always a 'virus' when they don't know!). so at least him not feeling well gives me some answer and direction... I also remembered he was due for a "wonder week'' plus daddy being away! but the good news is yesterday he had a decent day sleep and one nap,,,, and after an hour or so of scream, settle, scream, settle etc I rocked him off to sleep and he STAYED asleep!!! got to do the normal dreamfeed and went to bed ... he woke ONCE at 1am, had a full bottle and back to sleep til 7.15am


So we finally both got some sleep. I hope it was areal change and not just exhaustion leading him.

wow melbel - those figures must give you some hope!!! fingers crossed it's all good!

kelly - how are you feeling?? how far along are you now???

marcellus - i ended up brining him into our bed on friday night as it was the only way either one of us would get any sleep. I don't really like doing it cos i don't sleep well but he seemed much happier and kept rolling over to touch and snuggle into me (aawwww). Mind you I think i went to sleep before him, i was so tired lol. I can't imagine what it'll be like when i'm realy preg

anyhoo - am freaking out as I really don't 'feel' preg and have been so tied up with DS that it's hard to even think about *gasps* another one. have a bt tomorrow and hopefully the numbers are up around 1000 or so. It still doesn't seem real, but i'm 5 weeks today....

but from memory, all the 'symptoms' didn't really hit til 6 weeks with Ash... Can you remember when and how long your early symptoms started/lasted?

Grub, I think it's easier second time as you've so many other things to think about there's less inclination to obsess about the pregnancy.
I'm the same with DS - only sleep with him if I have to. When he was younger though that was an awful lot. It still beats actually getting up and trying to resettle.

Word of advice ladies, when the kidlets get old enough for a trampoline. Pay someone else to put it together. 4 hours of my life gone and a week recovering from the sun burn. On the up side al least iot will keep C occupied for hours. I hope.

Hope everyone is doing well, had a little time out to my self this weekend so I am fit an raring for the week. Oh and poor C has had anouther urninary tract infection so he has to have a kidney unltrasound tommorrow. hopefully he is all okay.
