    12 week Scan

Hi girls - I hope everyone is well. I just wanted to let you all know that I have finally made it to 12weeks! (Well 12 weeks 1 day today). We had our scan yesterday and everything is looking perfect. Very small Nuchal fold detected and everything is where it should be. Heart rate is 163bpm.

Because I am 36, the general risk for downs syndrome in my age group is 1:155. But my combined test came back really well and my personal risk has been reduced to 1:1,850. We are obviously thrilled about that even though if we were at a large risk it would not have changed us going forward with the pregnancy and loving our child just as much.

It was so amazing to see how much our baby actually looks like a baby now! We got some great little photos and a dvd which is just lovely. And we have finally been able to tell all our friends and work colleagues which is so much fun.

Hope you are all well... I am walking on air!

Hi Bee, wishing you a very healthy and happy pregnancy!

Janie - Fantastic news on a great 12 week scan - you must be so relieved! The first time I relaxed even a little bit was after my 12 week scan - it get easier from here on in. You sound over the moon - so glad you're enjoying it!

How is everyone else doing? I've been feeling quite flat recently, don't know why. Just feeling generally anxious and a bit depressed. Hopefully it'll pass soon. Next OB appointment next Monday afternoon.

    to all.

    Hi Girls
TL you have been on my mind all weekend i really hope you are OK, just so sad this has happened to you. I know we dont "really" know people on BB, but you just seem like such a lovely person and it just so unfair.

Bee: welcome and big huge congrats, that is just great news, wishing you plain sailing from here on!
Janie: so glad the scan went well, yes the 12 week mark seems so huge (and takes such a long time to get there) it does get easier from here on in.
Devon; Sorry to hear your feelin low, i feel good most of the time, but yes there is also that never ending apprehension and i go through spurts of feeling really low. Have you felt bub kick yet? i think once you experience that, it does give you some piece of mind, However days when they are quiet i have been known to freak out
My next ob appointment is monday too.
hi to everyone else hope your all going well!!

TL - oh my god, that is the most amazing news! I can't believe it - so fantastic!! We're you utterly gobsmacked when you saw the baby there? Why on earth did they tell you it was a miscarriage? Have you had any explanation?

Wow, that is the best news! So happy for you and your DH.

Scooby - still no definite movements from bub. Sonographer said that given my placenta, I might not feel anything till 23 weeks. Although I'm sure I have felt him, there have been some weird feelings that don't quite feel like gas. I think I'm a bit flat because I got so worked up about my 20 week scan, and didn't think beyond it. Then it was all over, and I'm just back to waiting again.

Best of luck for your OB appointment on Monday!

Devon: know exactly what you mean about the build up, i keep saying after that scan or that ob appointment i will do this or do that, or relax some more but there is just that anticlimax. The good news we have just over 4 monthes til our little ones join us!!

OMG TL, that is the most amazing news ever!!!!!!! Yay
I've been feeling so sad for you and now I feel so happy!!! What a miracle, and how weird to be told you had a miscarriage without a scan

Anyway, yay to lil Phoenix, to you and DH.

A big welcome to Bee, glad to see you in here

Congratulations to Janie - so great to make it through that milestone and to be able to tell your great news!

I hope you are feeling a bit better today Devon? It was full moon yesterday - lots of people I know seemed to be having "difficulties" (including me and DH having a rare fight!)

OMG, TL. That's the most amazing news I am so happy for you. I have been thinking of you since I saw your post on the weekend, and was so upset for you. You must have gone in to your ultrasound dreading it, and then find that you are still pg....unbelievable!!

Janie, YAY for 12 weeks and a great scan result. It must be so good to be able to let the cat out of the bag and tell people too.

I have my first Dr's appt tomorrow and am almost 10 weeks. Hopefully I will be able to book in for my NT scan as well. Still feeling a bit sick, but mostly in the evening. The tiredness seems to have eased off a bit even though I am now getting up 1-2 times every night for the loo.
