Pregnancy after Long Term TTC - Nov 2007

Hi girls. Sorry I haven't been around in so long. I have still been suffering quite badly with sickness although the last couple of days it has just been in the morning instead of all day long. I find I just lay down when I get home from work hence the reason why I haven't been around much. We had another scan with my FS (our last visit with her) and the babies are growing so quickly. They are so beautiful. My belly is even starting to pop out already which is slightly scary so early.

I am trying to catch up so I will have to come back in and do some personals when I can. I am so sorry this is a selfish post I really do think about all of you all the time and can't wait until I feel better to come and spend more time with you all.

Sorry for the absence dh and I have been to the sunshine coast for a holiday. Finally bought my tankini and bigger nana style bottoms so as not to scare the children on the beach but at least I look preggers now.

Kt- Im sorry your having such a bad time, it really does got better

Jo - I hope you let us know when jenna settles down and things start to get easier.

Kimbe - you are so cute having a photo with santa, I cant wait for that next year, in fact im more excited about christmas next year than this one! typically impatient

Quick hello before the weekend. Hope all's well with everyone. All's still good at my end. Had the pleasure of practicing with a 4 yr old Wednesday night and all went well...though, in the morning he needed a little help with some wipeing in the bathroom and for some crazy reason, he called for me rather than DH - yuck! I drove to work fearing i may smell of poop...obviously i didn't, but that didn't change the paranoia hehehe. Dreading those nappy gifts already. Have an awesome weekend everyone, whatever you're doing!

Well hello gils, and gees is it hot here in Vic......Lucky for DH and I we got our new air con put in yesterday so all is great....hope you girls are staying cool and keeping well.

Ltl Panda - yes, very hot. I had doggie school too from 11-12, so you can imagine how i felt! All the flies don't help either! Last lesson today until next year now, so that's a relief.

Marcellus - not sure when you are back - hope you had a great time.

We are off now to do the GOR for a week. I desperatley need some new clothes. And we have DH's Xmas party on Sunday when we get back...eeek, no idea what to wear to that either.

Hi all,
Hot here yesterday, about 36C so I opted to stay at home with the aircon while DH went to play tennis. Usually I go and watch and socialise but not this time especially as my feet have been blowing up like balloons in this weather. Hope you are all coping ok with it.
Had my baby shower today! I had kind of been dreading it but it was quite nice actually even though only about half the people invited couldnt come Got some lovely gifts and played a few silly games and had a nice lunch too so what more could I ask for?

Hey all just a quick one for me today!

Monnie & Mako - thanks for all your advice, so glad I'm not the only one.
So I have figured out Jenna is so upset because having trouble bringing up wind so have started her on some infacol & it does help a little but still pretty whinging but from what I keep hearing that is the norm for all bubs around this time of evening.
Only had 3 hours sleep last night but lucky mum came over & let me have a rest this arvo.

To everyone when someone offers help, TAKE IT!

Monnie - when you cluster feed do you wake Felix up to feed him?
I have found to it's a very short time from when Jenna is happy awake & then like 2 minutes later she is overtired so you really have to look out for the warning signs.

Everyone else hope you are well & hopefully soon I can be a regular bb again.

When I cluster feed Felix he's awake...he doesn't sleep between about 3-9pm...I guess that's his awake period!

Sounds like you are doing a great job...the sleeping issue really does get better. I just kept reminding myself that Felix had to LEARN how to sleep. He really started getting it after about 7-8 weeks and now he sleeps really well.

Sazz...how exciting...you're next! Have you got your bags packed?

KTgirl...sorry to hear about the m/s! Must be all those amazing hormones that you are producing!

Monnie - sorry to pick your brain but when you cluster feed is Felix looking for boob or do you just offer it to him?
I am thinking to try this, bub was awake pretty much all day today as she has such trouble with wind.
She would fall asleep in my arms & then wake up in pain with legs crunched up, did Felix suffer with this?
It's just awful seeing them in pain & not being able to do anything about it.

Hi everyone!
Jo, hope you are going ok with little Jenna's wind problem, poor little mite. I bet you find it so frustrating wanting to help her. Hope it sorts itself out soon for both of you.
I have mostly packed my bags now, just bits to go in there that I am using or wearing at the moment. It is hard to put clothes in there when I have such a small selection that fits anyhow! Just about organised though. Putting the finishing touches to the nursery like a mobile and shelves etc. Keep getting things out and looking at them hehe. Have had some lovely friends send us pressies already! It is sooo nice that everyone gets excited for us, for some reason I just didnt expect that. Can't seem to achieve much at home at the moment. How on earth did I have time to work only a couple of weeks ago with all the resting that is required? And my brain has gone to total jelly now: I am trying to sew a christening gown for bubs but keep having to unpick all the mistakes I make. grrr.

Hey Sazz, so happy for you hun, not long....glad you had a good baby shower...mine is on Sunday so I am looking forward to it.

Jo, hope you are ok, and hope Jenna does a few popoffs to relieve herself, poor darling, there is nothing like the discomfort of needing to fart and not being able to…

So who is next. I am now due on the 12th of Feb, my placenta has moved away from the cervix so I am ok to do a natural birth.

How exciting Sazz, its so close now......im so excited for you.
And I think you must be next Ltl Panda, so you must be getting excited too and I hope your baby shower goes well.

Me - I had my doc appointment yesterday and got to hear bubs heart beat which was very exciting, I think after the nausea had gone I kind of settled into the " i know im pregnant, but im not feeling pregnant" mentality. But the heart beat made it all real again.....and I thought was more exciting than the ultrasound.

And was pretty busy so have booked my 18week ultrasound for the week before xmas and have my first midwife appointment at 23weeks. I was getting frustrated with not having anything booked yet, so I guess this is a start

No obvious movements to report yet, had a little fluttering (but have had that for a while) and get an obvious dull pain when in certain positions but nothing else.

Please can anyone shed some light, I had my bt on monday and the hcg level was 175, however i dont feel pregnant at all if anything im quite crampy and really feel like AF is going to be here any minute. My boobs arn't even sore and i dont feel tired or sick. (oh the bt was done on day 14 after egg retrieval) I just dont feel like I am and am so scared to even let a little hope slip in because im so frightened of being crushed again if it ends terribly. Please Help Me !!! Im going insane thinking about it all.

Hi Jo I understand how hard it can be to have a bub who has trouble with wind.
Sage also has trouble getting his wind up at times and it breaks my heart hearing him scream in pain and I can't do a great deal about it. I find it helps if I put him up over my shoulder and either pat or rub his back between his shoulder blades. I also give him a break during a feed and "burp"him and then put him back on the breast after a burp or 2.
I also think the chemist has something that will help with wind in bubs too. I haven't resorted to this yet. I think its called wind drops or something along these lines.

Lismith I'm so pleased all went well for your appointment. Its such a great thing hearing bubs heart beat. I used to love that at each of my appointments.

FloJo Congratulations on your pregnacy.Try and relax hun. I'm sure everything is ok. Try and remeber that it is completely normal not to have any signs of pregnacy for a while. I know it can be a very tough time but please think all the positive pregnancy thoughts.Also try and imagine your tiny little bubba growing inside you. This truly is an amazing time.Btw your blood test level is fantastic especially for day 14.

Sage and I are doing well. I had my 6 week check up on Tuesday and everything was ok(yes my little man is 6 weeks old already). We have to see the paediatrician at 1:30 today as my Ob was a little concerned about Sages weight. He's gaining but not as much as they like bubs to. He is now 7lb 1oz or 3.21kgs.
So we'll see what the dr has to say today. He told me yesterday on the phone that he's little but he also had and early start and was very little at birth so he may just need a boost or something. Anyway I'll keep you posted on how we go. Oh Yeh we are having his photo taken with Santa tonight. Can't wait

Ltlpanda, hope you enjoy your shower this weekend. I'm sure you will. It is kind of strange to be the centre of attention like that and everyone looking at you but lap it up while you can I say because before long they will only have eyes for bubs!
I am amazed that your placenta has moved! I didnt know they could. Is it the pressure from the baby that kind of pushes it out of the way? Anyhow it is great news that you wont have to automatically have a ceasar. yay!
lismith, you sound a lot like me. You must feel so much better knowing you have appointments booked now, like something is really happening. Especially when you are at that inbetween stage of no sickness but not big and moving. Very exciting that you are starting to feel your baby!!!! And I know what you mean about hearing the heartbeat at the doctors, it puts a smile on my dial everytime. Good to know everything is going on in there as it should be.
Me: went for a walk last night and when we got home I discovered it was only just over 10 minutes long!!! Felt like a marathon because of all the hills. And our neighbour commented on how I walk like a preggo! Like I didnt feel like an elephant anyhow lol. I have been sooooo tired lately with not sleeping properly that we havent been doing our daily walks but that just let me know that I really need to keep up with them or I will be too unfit for labour!!!! How on earth will I get my fitness up afterwards to go back to tennis and squash? It seems impossible at this stage.

Jo...I just offer Felix a feed...he's not necessarily looking for it. He might only feed briefly each time but it seems to work! Hope Jenna's wind problems improve...it's awful, isn't it? Like Mako, I often burp Felix half way through his feed...I also use some medication from a local pharmacy (they make it up)...it seems to help alot...I know they do orders for interstate, so pm if you want the details.

Ltl Panda...I can't believe you are due on the 12th Feb. It just seems like a few weeks ago that you were announcing your pregnancy...how wonderful! Enjoy your shower!

Sazz...yeah I know what you mean about feeling so tired...it's like revisiting 1st trimester tiredness again, hey? Good on you for doing the walks!

Lissmith...yay on hearing the heartbeat. I never heard Felix's until he was about 40 weeks!!! So precious!

Flojo...congratulations! Hang in there...like Mako said, you don't always get all the symptoms...just take each day as it comes and enjoy it!

Mako...6 weeks already! Wow!!! That's so quick! Hope the Paed. appointment went well...and the Santa photo!

Well...we're doing well! Felix continues to be a little delight! He rolled over this week!!! Very exciting! Also...he giggled out loud for the first time! Very very sweet! We're still living with Mum and Dad as our renovations DRAG OUT! Hopefully, we'll be home for Christmas!

Monnie I bet Felix has a gorgeous little laugh and he's such a clever little boy for starting to roll over. Each day is full of little suprises aren't they.

Sage got on great with the paed appointment.He did a full examination on him and said he's doing really well and that he's just a little fella atm. He was very happy with how things are going as he's very alert, gaining weight,getting longer and h/c has increased within proportion with each other.We don't need to do comp feeds either so I'm very happy about that We have another appointment with him in Feb just to see how he's going and how his feet are aswell.
We'll be getting the Santa photo done later tonight when dh gets home from work.

Mako, I am so glad that your little man is doing really good, you must be so relieved to get good news. Are you able to post the Santa pic when you get it, would love to have a look.

Monnie, your precious little Felix is very quickly growing up, its amazing how quickly they learn things. Enjoy the time with your in-laws as you probably get some assistance, you will be all on your own once you are at home.

Sazz, any type of exercise at this stage in pregnancy is good enough.....some women cannot even manage that.

Flojo, BT results look good, CONGRATULATIONS, I remember I was convinced that I was not pregnant as I too did not feel anything, but the BT says it all. All the best with the months that follow.

Lismith, How great, you finally have the ball rolling, It makes it so much more real once you start planning and going to see the midwifes.

Jo, how are you going with Jenna? Hope she is doing better.
