    Hiya

Hope bubs enjoyed the concert Kotare. I guess your OB told you that to prepare you in case you bleed, so you won't freak too much...I don't think I'd be too reassured by it though. But, like Mako says, you're well into the second tri now, so surely it's unlikely anyway. Hope all goes well.

Sounds like shopping for baby can be a bit of a minefield... sigh.

Lol to jumping up and down LtPanda - I was totally doing the same thing the other night.

Lismith, we've all been there I think. in retrospect i realise i spent most of the first tri in denial. kept expecting it all to end at any moment... but it didn't. Hang in there.

You too Sonya - the exhaustion will eventually pass!

Looking forward to hearing about your apt Mako.

    hi to everyone else.

I've been to see my Ob and to be honest I'm a little concerned as Bub is measuring smaller again. On a positive note the heart beat was nice and strong. My B/P was up a bit and my hands were very swollen. Ob was also a bit concerned with how things are and she is also very mad that I'm working up to 38 weeks. I guess I should have a talk to my boss to see if I can cut back a day or 2 a week. I have to see my GP next week to get B/P checked as I can't get in to see OB as I have to work. I also have to have another blood test done and the Strep B swab done. I was a bit suprised to be handed the swab thingy to do myself and take to the pathology next week But I was assured that this is how its done there lol. I guess I'll know more about how things are with bub on Monday at my scan so I'll be doing my very best trying not to worry (yeh right).

Sorry its a selfish post but I'll be back tomorrow to catch up on personals. Hope you are all ok.

Hey Mako, I'm sorry you came away from your apt worried. But a good strong heart beat is always good news. Hope you're able to keep the stress levels down as you wait for Monday - it's only natural you'd be feeling anxious though.
And I totally agree you should talk to work. I understand if you feel obligated to see out your time, but if they havn't found someone else that's really their fault and it's them that's potentially leaving students in the lurch, not you - ykwim? If my OB said that to me, I would not be going into work again... Err, sorry, sounds like I'm telling you what to do - just concerned for you is all.
    Take it easy, ok?

Oh, and have fun with the swab

Lismith - hope the scan went great. Don't worry about your emotions - i think we all felt terrified and thrilled and paranoid all at the same time!

Mako - I'm sure your little one is fine, but if work can go a bit easy on you, then it will be better for you all in the long run. Better for them to have you at work a few days a week, than having to take leave early, and not be there at all.

DJ - you're organised! Still, that will make the last weeks just fly by I'm sure.

I went to the private hospital for the first time to 'book in'. Wow! Now that's the way to have a baby!! It was so flash - i felt like a total fraud I am glad we decided to go private though - with no family around (oh, except my 35 yo sister of course who is still living in our spare room!! ) it will be a luxury being able to stay for 4 nights if i need to - at least until i get the hang of the breastfeeding thing. I'm sure we can work out bathing and changing nappies etc - but if i can't get these bb's to do their job then i'll definitely need some help.

Mako, I think the high BP is a result of the stress the OB is causing you, the strong heart beat sound good and you should not worry, it could be that your baby is smaller/petit.....I guess they are just thinking out loud and will confirm later on....take care hun and do not let it stress you out.

Kotare, privet.....lucky thing...... my sister in law went private, boy talk about luxury treatment.

My ankles are starting to swell up, I think its just got to do with the extra weight I am carrying around, who knows….not sure what Ill do with myself in summer.

Mako - I am so sorry to hear you are a little concerned from your appointment.
My advice is (I'm sure you've probably had enough advice) if money is not a concern for you I would be stopping work asap.
Not that I think anythings wrong but just for your own peace of mind & knowing that you can rest if you need to.

I was very concerned about work & thought I was finishing too early at 32 weeks but I am so glad that I did now because I have found I'm even more busy now but I just don't have that added stress of work.
I wish I had finished earlier & you know what if they hadn't been happy with that if I want to go back to work I will be able to get a job elsewhere at the end of the day this precious baby is so much more important than work.

Kotare - glad to hear your hospital is nice, we were told I would be staying for at least 4-5 days which I guess is the benifit of private, they don't have to kick you out straight away & isn't it wonderful that they teach you everything.

Ltl Panda - not sure what to say about the swollen feet, I have found the last few days with the warmer weather mine have been a bit swollen & I can honestly say I am so glad bubs will be born before the summer hits. (good luck, lol).

Hi thanks for your advice regarding the work situation. I spoke to my boss this morning and unfortunatley I'll be there for another 2 weeks unless I go into labour early or a miracle person turns up and starts teaching. Oh well I'm coping pretty well so far this week so we'll see how things go.

Ltl Panda Its not the Ob causing the BP hun. My Ob is the one who is keeping a very close check on me and bub as she knows that my condition can and does become risky to mums and bubs. Bub is ok atm but we need to be checked alot more frequently now. Bub is a good size and not petite by any means lol. Its the fact that my amniotic fluid is low is the reason for my measurements being small.
This is the reason that I'm having another scan on Monday too

I also suffer from the swollen feet and hands which is also related to the b/p. Not everyones is related but some are. I hope yours is just from the heat sweety and you are ok.

Kotare I'm also going private. The hospitals are always much nicer and the food is better too. Atleast you know that you've got a room to yourself and the help is there if you need it. Try not to stress about the breastfeeding hun. I'm taking the if I can do it then great but if I can't for some reason then the bottle is fine too approach.

    Hope you are all ok
