Thanks, you too. I have only one exam this time...I believe we should get compassionate marks...It's not as easy to sit for 3 hours when you've got a few extra inches at the front and your bum keeps going numb. And I don't cope with stress half as well. I'll probably start crying half way through!!

Jo It sure is very uncomfortable being in the car for a while. I too get the feet up under my ribs which is very painful. Just can't seem to get comfy in any position these days. Oh the joys of the 3rd tri!!!

Kotare all the best for your study and exams. Not too long until it will be over.
I bet you are looking forward to your sister working and moving out. I don't think I could spend all that time with my sister lol. I do love her to bits but we are just so very different to each other.

Sonya I hope all works out very well for you hun. Please take care and know that we are here for you during these tough times. All the very best for your next appointment.

Dh and I put the nursery together yesterday. Its so exciting yet so scary at the same time. It all seems so very real and so close now. We just have to put up the wall hangings and put the sheets on the cot and we are done.

Wow, there's a lot going on with you all hey!

Sonya - keep up the positive thoughts and sending good strong healthy growing vibes to your belly. It is a shame you can't have an early ultrasound, just to see things inside. I wasn't a huge monitor of the HCG levels as my fc didn't tell me any until the BFP and then after that it was a 7 wk scan only. Don't let the anxiety get the better of you will you! I guess you must be feeling terribly scared, but try and stay strong, we're all barraking for you.

Ltl Panda - scan sounded exciting, only 2 more days till ours and we can't wait. As for the home gym, sounded like hard work. Well done on getting it completed so you can begin the nursery. I'm almost too nervous to move anything out of what wil be our nursery just yet, though, your message has motivated me to consider nursery layout and things.

Monnie - hello again, i'm totally shocked you've had your little man Felix in your arms for over 6 weeks, the time has definately flown! glad all's well for you..despite his reflux!

Mako - bugger on your drive to my neck of the woods! How did you cope in the car being so much closer to the due date, i don't think long drives will be on the schedule for us once i reach the later stages. I'm impressed with your herculean effort.

Kotare - i'm with you on the study business. I'm finishing off a course at present, but it's by Dist. Ed. We had a wk at Uni last month, but i have an assessment due next week (can't bring myself to really start it yet!). I then have the final units res school mid November, however, the assess's for that are all handed in by the end of the week which is much nicer. Good luck with it all.

Well, for me, Dh and I went down to Vic. for a few days visiting my pg friend. She's 10 wks and still enduring ms, was great to see her and do the pg chatter. The drive was not too bad considering 9hrs each way, but we stopped a few times (loo breaks essential), packed some great CD's and picnic food which made it easier, (not to mention travelling with pants undone and belt loosely held around low lying growing belly!).
We also went out with friends last night to see Miss Saigon. Dressing up wasn't as big an issue as i thought it could be and the 3 hr show was worth seeing - I even drove home which shows how much better i'm now feeling. Think i'm in the 'happy and nice' stage of pg. The 2nd trimester feels so much better than the 1st!

Have 19wk scan on wed morning. DH and I both really excited. I'm pretty sure i am feeling bubba's movements, but not certain, hopefully the scan will clarify them for me.

Kotare - everyone needs their space, especially when you're pg so don't feel bad about wanting your sister to be out of the house soon.

Mako - yes I feel exactely the same, extremely excited but oh so scared at the same time.

Well we had a wedding on the weekend which was tiring but I lasted till the end of the night, we even managed a slow dance (the three of us, lol) I must say that was a challenge.
We also put bub's cradle in our bedroom yesterday so that made things feel all that more closer.

HI girls, just wanted to pop in and say im still around, I have been reading but feeling quite crappy so thought I would keep low until I start to perk up a bit.
Nausea is still driving me insane, im awake evey morning at 4 with the birds which is adding to the insanity and last night I woke up in the most awful pain, but it was and is still trapped wind.......and I feel really ungrateful, oops and can feel myself welling up again......and the spontaneous crying is making me a blubbering mess...please tell me this is a sign that everything is ok and it will all go soon please....sorry!!!

Like most of you seem to be doing, I have finished my studying for the year thank goodness, We found out i was utd halfway through this semester so as you can imagine the work kind of got pushed to the back, but its done now. Good luck LPanda, Kotare and Kimbe with your studies, I hope your brains have been working better than mine

And its 12 days till my 10 week scan, then Iguess it all becomes real and we get to see how many heads there are...I really hope the 2nd semester is better than this one.

thanks for all your support girls. im reading into EVERYTHING! like no m/s boobs not grown etc etc etc.. but if all is ok i am only 6 1/2 weeks, so maybe its too early..

might ring clinic today and see if i can go into tomorrow for bloods.. 2 days early. if not i will just have to hope and pray bubs is still growing...

its lovely reading everyones little developments on their wonderful pregnancy journey.

Sorry you're having a hard time Lismith. it will get better, just hang in there. And yeah, crying all the time is really annoying.... it is sooo not like me.

Wow - you girls have been busy in the last week! Trips, rennovations, nurseries, study.... phew! I've been slacking off out at my parents' place just doing very little. nice not to work for a while though.

Good luck for your big scan tomorrow Kimbe - ours is in a few weeks.

Nice to see you back Monnie - Hope you and Felix both are all better now. We're off to see Dr Thyer again on Thursday... getting anxious that something's wrong (as I do for about a week before the next apt), but will feel better after we see him (& Jelly of course).

OK, just a quick one from me. Had my very first (and possible very exciting) ob appt today. Old preggy brain here - forgot to go. Can't believe it. I feel so foolish.
DH thinks i'm a clod. He said he thought it was today, but i kept telling him it was tomorrow.
The ob is super busy...I might not get to see him for another 3 weeks.
I knew you guys would understand...hope those of you who feel unwell can get a giggle out of silly old me

Lis I'm sorry that you are feeling so yuck at the moment hun. I hope it gets alot better for you very soon. Not too long until you go for your scan. I bet you'll start to get excited and also a little nervous but I'm sure all will be great.

I'm feeling a little nervous about my next scan but trying not to think about it too much yet as its almost 2 weeks away and I don't want to put anymore stress on bub or me for that fact.

Kotare LOL at you missing your appointment. Sure sounds like the preggie brain has definately kicked in for you hun. I hope you don't have to wait 3 weeks to see your Ob though.

As for me I'm going to appologise early for my upcoming whinge.
Here goes

I wrote a note for my boss yesterday telling her that I intend on finishing work on the Friday 2nd November(I'll be 38 weeks and 1 day) and when I intend on returning.
When I went in this morning she has replied to my note asking me to work Saturday the 3rd as she still hasn't got anyone to replace me. So naughty me wrote a little white lie and said that dh and I are going away for that weekend before our baby arrives. I just can't believe that she even asked me to work that day. I wasn't supposed to work EVERY Saturday last term and I ended up there every weekend.
She sure won't be happy if this baby decides to arrive early but I'm trying not to worry about it too much.
As if I need to have this to think about on top of everything else thats going on atm with bub and the scan and all.
Once again I'm very sorry for my whinge.

Well, just got in from a really long morning - the scan went great, but took forever. It went over 2 sessions with a 45 minute break in between in an effort to have bubba move around for a better scan of the heart. Saw all the little toes and fingers...bubba was actually thumb sucking which was just awesome to see. We did get a tentative 'girl' response to gender, which is what probably 85% of family are hoping for, but at risk of sounding cynical, am not going to get their hopes up on it, will play it down to the fam and will hold back from purchasing 'girly girly' things (well, i'll try, don't know how long it will last, i'm already pretty exstatic at the concept).
Have app. with midwife on Monday afternoon and i assume she will go through all the results of the scan, the sonographer was lovely and explained everything she was doing and looking at, but she obviously wouldn't state anything about placenta position etc other than things are looking good and baby is developing well.

Mako - well done on the work thing. It sounds like your the one keeping the place in business - keep your position (who knows, maybe you and Dh should try and disappear for a night or 2, it could be nice).

Sonya & Lis - it's just a constant wait isn't it, from one BT to the next, then one scan to the next, appointments, there's always something we're waiting on. And it is so hard not to be anxious. And try not 2 worry about the ms - mine began at 7wks, over at 14-15wks and the boobs, well, i'm still awaiting some real change, otherwise, its going to be disappointing for me and bubba when all i have to offer is little boob bottles! We (and our bubba's) are all so different, yet on the same journey. Hugs 2 you both.

Marcellous - well done on taking it easy - that's me every morning while i have DH getting me breaky, it's gotta be better for bubba taking things gently and trying to stay calm and relaxed.

Kotare - you got me laughing, on the positive of missing the appointment, at least it means you've not been sitting around stressing out about it or getting overly anxious. There'll be another appointment, it just might be closer to your 18-20wk scan. I'm sure your not the first or last of us pg's who just simply forget!

Mako - good on you for standing your ground, it's up to your boss to find your replacement & lets face it she's had plenty of time.
My boss was the same leaving it to the last minute so in the end I had to pretty much do interviews & choose someone just to get someone!
It's been a week & half since I've finished & it seems like my boss has finally realised that yes I am gone now & she is starting to panic.

Kimbe - so glad your scan went well, sucking thumb how cute.

Had our second antenatel class last night which was discussing pain relief so I am forced to be out of denial about actually giving birth now.
But I have no idea what pain relief I want, I guess I better figure it our pretty soon.
I am just so hopeless at making decisions especially when you don't have any idea of how you will handle the pain.

We also went through the birth suite & saw the nursery, boy was it all believable when we saw the little bubba's it got me so excited I said to dh can you believe in 6wks (maybe less) we will be there meeting our bub!!!

Great news on your scan Kimbe. I was thinking girl for some reason, no idea why.

Maybe you should ask for the 'pain-free' option Jo . Apparently one of my mother's aunts turned up at hospital with back pain and gave birth in the waiting room. Twice. She didn't realise she was in labour. That sounds good to me (well, not the waiting room part so much).

Wow, it's so cool logging on here and reading about all you girls - some of you are so close to having a baby...it still seems so far away to me.

I got a quick call to say the ob could squeeze me in today at 1.45. I jumped at the chance. Turns out he is super super nice...I couldn't have got on better with him. He jokingly tried to make me feel guilty for not turning up yesterday...he said it's written all over my notes on the computer and i will forever have that tag. Still, he was an hour late today, so he said we are square.
All the specialist sonographers are away at the end of Oct, so my 20 week scan has to be at 18 weeks, but they said it will be OK. So...next stop - 20 weeks.

Lis, Hope you feel better soon. It is tough when you feel like the living dead but feel too guilty to complain. Feel free, we will all understand!
Mako, good for you. I would have done the same thing. I once was made to come in for the saturday am when I was meant to finish up on the friday. Unfortunately, I wasnt as strong then and just caved in. Go Girl!
Kotare, Dont worry about missing your apt anymore. I missed a GP one and he is really hard to get into. I appologised to him when I saw him at my work (small town) and he didnt even realise it had happened. I told him I was doing him a favour catching up on his schedule. So far, everytime I have been to see him I have waited 1 1/2hrs in the waiting room cause he is always soooo late. Once I even forgot to go to work when my shifts were changed. That was a bit of a problem!!
Marcellus, Wow I cant believe your great aunt didnt work it out the second time! Sounds like a plan to me but preferably not in the waiting room...
Kimbe, Your scan sounds great. How cute that bubs was sucking her thumb!!! It makes you go all gooey doesnt it?
Jo. Glad your classes are really working for you. I think I am the same as you in the planning department. How are you meant to plan when you have no idea really how you will react?? tricky.
Me, sorting out the nursery properly now. I have painted the furniture and am sorting out all the crap that has accumulated in that room over the last 8yrs of living here... I have started washing all the little things now that I have somewhere to store them and that is fun. (as much fun as washing can be lol) Saw my folks on the weekend. They have just come back from China where they bought a little Panda toy for the baby which was so nice as they did the same for my new nephew also.
Not much else happening. DH has FINALLY felt the kicks now as we were able to get the timing right. Big thrills for him. He is coming and talking to my belly now and is very cute. We have not seen if it is a boy or girl but everyone seems to think girl... any guesses?

Firstly, Sonya, just wanted to let you know that I think most of us girls in here are very pleased that your bloods are better and that you received some long awaited good news, wishing you all the best with you scan.

Sazz, nice to see that you are getting on with thing and keeping yourself busy.

Kimbe, what fantastic news, and wow, baby sucking her thumb... I am so very happy....go celebrate and make a purchase for your little girl.

JO, did they talk about what to expect in terms of the side effects from the different methods of pain relief,, I am extremely put of the epidural as I heard it crosses the placenta and it affects the baby for longer than it affects us because their kidneys do not function to full capacity yet. I too am very interested in my options of pain relief that is other that the good old epidural.

Kotare, well done on getting the appointment.

Sazz It sure is exciting getting the nursery set up isn't it? And how cute do those little clothes look hanging out on the line. I just loved getting the clothes and wraps and things washed.

Ltl Panda How are you doing sweet?

Jo Happy 34 weeks to you hun.Have you asked about all the pain relief options? There are so many out there, Natural and medical. If you aren't too keen on the medical ones maybe you could look into Hypnobirthing or accupuncture or even hiring a TENS machine may be the way to go for you.

As for me Happy 35 weeks today. The time is just going so very fast. I am really ready to meet this little Bub anytime from now. I never thought I'd be saying this but I'm really over the feet up under my ribs and the indigestion is driving me crazy these days. Atleast I know that within the next 5 weeks our little man will either be here safe and sound or well on his way out as my Ob won't let me go a day over my due date.
I've decided to go with the flow on the day as to the pain relief. If I feel I need something then I'll just ask and if I'm coping ok without then so be it.
I'll be starting to pack my bags over the weekend I think. I really don't know where to start. I guess I'll pack things for bub first and go from there.
