A new month, a new thread. I wrote my response in December, went to post it, and it had been closed!
Ciara - it's funny how all those things we whine about in regular AF season are the same things we look forward to and get so excited about when on that TTC ship. Don't test too soon - it's safer to wait. (good things come to those who wait!).
Murraycod - it's very common that after a PMP the hcg takes a long time to drop - I think they normally predict about 56 days from D&C - the 96 was 50 days after the D&C - so it is dropping slower than would be expected, however my ob is happy that is is dropping. But at this rate, I estimate I wont be "negative" until late Feb.
May this be a better thread for all!
Just sending some good luck your way for this new year - It's time for you to all move to the paml thread!
Thanks for your good wishes...things are going very well for me (finally!) so I am more than happy to stop in and drop off baby dust and sticky vibes!
Hi Cookie my love! I have been thinking of you over here in Japan. Your levels are taking a while to come down - you're not on the pill or anything, are you? You already know all my "tricks" that i used to get mine down (I don't know if they worked or not) What's your doc saying about the levels? I was thinking of you because my official all-clear date is in three days time and I wanted to come online and let you know that the last three months have FLOWN past - the first three after diagnosis were horrid, and they crawled, but the last three have been eeeeeasy. So hang in there matey!
Murraycod - go team baby cod! Injections hurt less the faster you jam the needle in too. You may have figured that out already. I used to look after a little diabetic, so I'm in on a few of the tricks.
Sorry others for no persies - I'm flat out! I've been feeling a little bit sick, but can't tell if that's motion sickness from the bullet trains, or too much dairy (yes, guilt, I am back on the dairy over here, not heaps though) or if maybe it's something else.
Snugglybean, my angel, I hope you are having an amazing time - and I hope the queasiness is caused by a little bean! I'm touched that you've managed to take a few moments in your trip to think about me. (and I've been missing you!) My ob is surprised that my levels are taking so long to fall, but content with the fact that my levels are consistently going down, especially considering the clean us I had at the beginning of Dec. Glad to hear that the last 3 months flew by - I could use some of that over here - I've got some party poppers here left over from New Years, I'll pop some for you in 3 days!
Snugglybean, I know you are having a well deserved and great holiday, but I soooo miss you
I loved the Team Baby Cod comment XXXX
If Cookie pops a party streamer for you, I will join in on the fun and pop an Ovary!!!
PS: Loomis says Hi "woof" "woof"!!
TinaR Thank You you are so thaughtful and we much appreciate you looking in over us X
Cookie Feb won't be too far away, We are all here to keep you in good company untill......always X
Oh, and Thanks Inanna for the new thread XXXXX Nice and Fresh!
Cookie, you're right.. good things do come to those who wait. I just hope i can hang out! haha.. it is funny how we love to feel the symptoms if we think it could be a baby starting its journey, but if we just think it's AF, we hate it LOL. weird. And regarding your levels not dropping - all i can say for you is GRRRRRRRRR. Stupid body doing what we DON'T want it to do. Why can our bodies just do what we want the
m to do!! haha, wishful thinking hey.
murraycod - thanks. too exciting when you feel there's a possibility.. i guess every cycle feels like a possibility though doesn't it?
Snugglybean - hope it is pregnancy sickness, not anything else! hehe, that would be awesome! Look after yourself
cool new thread for new beginnings!
hey ladies - just a quick question for the melbourne girls.... can you recommend a good ob? my ob was lovely but far too laid back for me especially after our loss...any suggestions??
spf - have you tested again???
AFM - 2 days into my 2ww... so far so good!!! a friend of mine delivered a healthy baby boy today! very excited for them as they had a loss this time last year!!! gives me hope that i too can get thru this and have a healthy bub!!! xx
Murraycod - do you have any special tricks for getting DH to move the treadmill out of the garage? (Or the car out so I can use the treadmill in the garage?) - you seem to be the expert here on treadmill acquisition!
Ciara - put those tests in the freezer! (I can't remember who said they did that...) Thaw them out at the appropriate time.
T-Hopes - where abouts in Melbourne are you? And thanks for the comment on your friend - I think some of us need stories to keep us on track, so to speak!
CraftyMummy - I used to have guinea pigs! I love them so much. I'd get some again, but my woofies would eat them, I fear.
Mummyof4 - you need to feel the guilt. If you didn't feel it, you wouldn't be human! And we're all here to listen to you. Just remember that you don't deserve the guilt, and you shouldn't hold on to it because it's easier that way...
TTCALC - It's not crazy! A week after I lost KT, I had an u/s, and I was there, hoping that I'd been mistaken and KT would still be there, or there would be a secret twin, or something equally stupid. It's called hope. And you need to hold on to it. Sometimes it's all we have.
Ferrals - well, it's unpleasant that the biatch showed her face - but at least you have a clue as to what is going on now - although the +opk's a few days ago is confusing.
AFM - I am bummed bummed bummed. Everything makes me sad, and I see the worst in everything.

Hi ladies,
I would like to introduce myself....I'm CrafytMummy's friend.......Carrie. I live in Leicestershire in the UK.....we have 10cm of snow!!! Bet you ladies are a bit warmer.
This is my story....in brief.
I recently miscarried my beautiful baby boy Eden at 17 weeks. He was peacefully born sleeping on 27.12.09. Scans show that he stopped growing at 13-14 weeks, a week after I had the swine flu jab. We have been given permission today to collect his body and we are starting to arrange his blessing and goodbye service with our vicar. We wont be able to get a complete picture of what happened to our baby boy until the post-mortem results can be fully assessed, however, Dr's have found provisional links between the swine flu jab and Eden's body failing to continue to grow. There is evidence to suggest that his heart continued for up to two weeks after he stopped growing.
None of this makes any sense to me....I have had two healthy, low risk pregnancies with my girls and fantastic home-birth deliveries with no pain relief. My husband even delivered our second daughter!!! I am a fighting fit 30 year old and have no medical conditions. I only hope the PM can give us a clearer picture and some answers to our questions.
So....here I am......in the mist of all this confusion and heartache trying to find some support. I am humbled by your stories of loss and also of joy in the face of adversity. I hope to find strength from your stories and although our priority at the moment is to ensure that Eden is laid to rest peacefully and in a dignified way, I look forward to the day when I start my next period and can begin working towards a more positive future.
My husband, myself and our gorgeous girls visited a place called the Eden Project in Cornwall England on New Years Day. We planted a tree in memory of our little angel. It was a positive start to the new year and I hope all of you ladies and your respective families also have a positive year ahead of you.

Hi Carrie, i am so sorry that you have to join us in thisa group but you will not find anyone more supportive than the girls in this group. I am hoping that the PM gives you some answers but please please dontdo what i did... i pinned all my hopes on there being answers to help me move on and that kind of thing and our PM came back with no reasons found Our little girl Kyarna was 17weeks and 5 days when we found out that she had no heart bet and i alos had healthy pregnancies before so i struggled alot i still am but with all the lovley ladies supporting me i am slowly getting there. the tree planting sounds perfect and i am glad that you got that oportunity.
CarriePS...Oh sweetie im sooo sorry my heart goes out to you..
i also lost our lil tiny one On DEC 22/09 @ 7 weeks 6 days and passed everything on DEC 29th..My heart goes out to you as well.. I do hope the PM can give you some answers.
I agree the tree planting sounds perfect and i am glad that you also got that opportunity
I know its hard but keep your head up and stay strong for your girls... and do know that one day you will get that chance of being a another mother to a wonderful and healthy baby!

Mummy of 4........Thank you for your words of support. It sounds like you are in a very similar position to me. It's all so devastating.
I am a physio so have seen a number of PM's during my medical training- I know that there may not be conclusive answers that will give us closure, and we are trying as best as possible to prepare ourselves for the 'not knowing'. I'm a 'need to know everything' kinda girl and I would hate to not have definitive answers.....but I am trying to prepare myself for that possibility. Unfortunately for us, our consultant told us today that there is early evidence of a link between the swine flu jab and Eden ceasing to grow. This is obviously of interest to the medical profession and she (and her team of people from patient affairs) warned us today that there may be media attention later down the line. As if MC isn't hard enough to deal with!!! I guess we'll have to cross that bridge when/ if it happens.
In the meantime, I have two happy little girls to keep me occupied and to keep my spirits up.
Anita....my thoughts and prayers are with you and your man. May God bless you both with a healthy baby in 2010. It must be tremendously difficult for you to listen to other ladies stories. Try to stay positive- I will pray for you and be thankful for my blessings everyday.
Exactly a year to the day that we lost Eden, my husband's best friend lost his twin boys. His wife miscarried their twin boys Harry and George on 27.12.08. It was their third miscarriage and they didn't have any other children to ease their grief but are now 18 weeks pregnant. I pray this little baby continues to grow into a healthy baby. Don't lose hope Anita.

Carrie - I'm so sorry you've had to join us here, but I hope you find a little something here with us to help you move along. I've heard of a few women who have a loss after a few easy pregnancies, and then gone on to have easy pregnancies after that. I think it's really positive though, that you've managed to honour Eden's spirit in such a beautiful and pure way.
Hi carrie sorry about your loss i hope you get some answers to help we lost our beautiful daughter at 19 weeks 5 days but we found out she had major problems due to a genetic condition before so we unfortunately had to make the most horrendous decision to end the pregnancy as she was a non viable baby (they call them) but having answers hasnt made it any easier i hope you get a BFP soon.
AFM-I spoke to my FS and all is 99% good she said my FSH is on the high end of normal like i said before they like it to be under 10 mine was 10.6 but she is not concerned she said i responded to ivf fantastic i had lots of follicles and she thinks i am nowhere near menopause at least 10-15 years away my number of eggs was great the embryo quality was ok not fantastic but that is because my eggs are 35 years old but i had 3 blastocysts so that was good basicly she said she expects me to be pregnant by may and if im not i am to go back to her and they will do normal ivf (which is a lot cheaper) and get me pregnant quicker as we need to test our bubs at 12 weeks so the quicker the better we wont do pgd again as we decided to just get pregnant and hope we are lucky so to cut it short she said my fertility is normal for my age most women my age will have FSH around the same level thats why it can take longer to get pregnant and my royal jelly and macca tablets have turned up so i am all prepared and to top it off i will be in my fertile period from the 16th when we go on our honeymoon so hope we get a honeymoon baby i think i have rambled enough oh! except i am watching a clearblue fertility monitor on ebay it ends tonight so cross fingers i am the highest bidder.
Mathewsmum-yeh i have lots of eggs and im way off menopause she thinks around 45- 50 it will hit but my eggs are still on the old side so the saying goes quality not quantity but that is why i am on the coq10 that is supose to help with quality so the quicker it happens the better just hope when and if i do get pregnant the baby is not affected with SLO that is when i throw in the towel.
Carrie-that is good news we had Abbi cremated and i have her ashes with her teddy and little footprints here at home my 3 boys diddnt get to hold or see Abbi as we thought it would be to distressing and since the hospital lost the only photos of her we had to have one taken a week after the autopsy which she still looks ok but you can only see her face and hand the ones they lost were of her tiny feet and hands and of us holding her i couldnt believe they deleted them off the digital camera but nothing i can do about it anyway thanks for the honeymoon well wishes hope it works.
hi everyone ,carrieps-sorry for your loss, hope your next bfp is not very far away...scarypinkfairy-have you tested again?fingers crossed.App with fs in early march, still trying for those 2 lines were all wishing for until app comes up...ciara-finger crossed, sounds good...ric-thinking of you...mummyof4-no need for apologizes, blame is so common for us to feel,it something that comes up in my therapy sessions a lot.Horrible things happen for no reason sometimes, try to be kind to yourself and remember Kyarna would of felt all the love you had and still have for her...craftymummy-are you testing soon?..tinar-thanks...murraycod-hope the metamucil works, ouch about the needles, things we do huh.cycle day 19 for me ,little while yet to wait, gyno who did dye test didn't hold out any hope for me unless they bypass tubes completely by ivf process ,giving it ago still natural till that starts...t-hopes-glad to hear a sucees story, congratulations to your friend....ttalovechild-i think whenever we ttc after loss we ? are readiness,i feel it wont get my baby back but it will give me something back maybe hope.I think they find it harder to test bubs than do tests on us.Lots of doc don't seem to want to test until after 3 losses.I lost my bub at 14 weeks,he was only measuring 11 and half weeks,he came away from me in sac ,in amniotic fluid(not much)tiny but formed, they still didn't do testing, told me it was because it was my 1st loss, looking back i think i should of demanded more testing but i was too emotional at the time and to naive....snugglebean-fingers crossed...cookie-sorry your down,we all get that way at times,it's hard.Hugs...
