Christy you can give Matilda both Nurofen and Panadol at the same time because they have different active ingredients. The Nurofen in better for the pain while panadol will help with the temp. It sounds like another bout of tonsilitis and as scary as that thought of it is I would strongly recommend you think about seeing the ENT specialist sooner rather than later. I was so scared the first time Jack had his gromemts put in, I cried like you would not believe but each time it got easier to where I am at now (child #3) where I helped the nurses to wrap Ash to put the IV in. They were both very impressed!!!! I hope the doctor can help. Have you tried Painstop??? The taste of it is foul but it helps to get rid of the pain and will help them sleep!!! Emma had it after she had her tonsils out and she slept all night without pain! Good luck ... I am thinking about you and hope you can find something to help Matilda sleep.

Kathryn ... kick his butt!!!! If it was my DH doing it I would message him while he is out telling him his dinner is in the driveway along with his sleepign bag and pillow, he can sleep inthe car and not to btoher trying to suck up to me because I don't want to talk to him!!!! Good luck, maybe he will have a big surprise to make up for it????

Well I need to get some jobs done while Asha sleeps. Bought everyone new knickers and jocks today so need to wash them and get rid of all the oold ones with holes in them

    Cheers

    hi girls

popping in a bit early - not due in here till next thursday

just wanted to say to michelle and pee i hope you all have a great day on sunday for jessica and ryley's birthday parties - we are having lani's on that day too and so much organising to do - arhh never again (we have 70 people) and it looks like rain.

i hope jessica is well michelle for the party - it is so typical they get sick just before there big day - we have all got this horrid head cold with a shocking cough (almost like were all asthmatics) and of course lani has it along with a batch of new teeth cutting - ah well i guess i will just dose her up on medication lol.

hope you have a great time and i will see you all officially next week and i look forward to chatting with the rest of you guys and getting to know you all.

btw - ambah have read all about your bush turkey problem - melbee in the 9-12 mth forum also seems to have the same sort of problem.

    Hi girls

Kelly - we have tried painstop but DH gave Matilda panadol already this morning & I didn't want to OD the panadol... but we are definately using painstop tonight!! Its amazing stuff I agree! I should have given her neurofen as well but we were out ](*,) and I wasn't up to driving with her in that state to the chemist...

She does have another ear infection. But the doctor today said that we shouldn't think about grommets until summer & see if she gets better with this warmer weather. Apparently its 26 today, but I'm shivering, DH is in a singlet atm so it must be warm I've got a long sleeve shirt & jumper on...

so sorry to come in here early again.

in regards to matilda's ear infections - how many has she had and does she go swimming regularly. i only ask this because when my first jessica was 5mths old she got her first ear infection. at six and half months we began swimming lessons - she did the lessons over winter in a heated pool over 2 terms and she had probably around 8 ear infections in that time. my doctor said she couldn't "catch" the ear infections from the pool as such but she could pick up a viral infection easily in a public pool and she just seemed to be getting the viral infections in her ear. she advised me to take her out of swimming and wait and see what happens over summer and then if she had 2 more infections over summer and whilst she was no longer swimming then they would do the grommets.

i took her out and she had no infections again - co-indence who knows but thankfully for us it worked.

i feel for you it is awful when they are so sick and unhappy

okay going back to my own forum now

    bye

Christy - I have just reread my post and it seems so "I know more than you do", so I want to apologise. I didn't mean for it to be like that. I know what it is like to have a sick child who won't sleep because they are in pain and I just wanted to let you know all that I knew. It is hard to get the sentiment across in the posts!! Again I am really sorry!!! #-o

Hello to everyone else, I need to get dinner for the troops so I will catch you all later

    Cheers

ah Kelly no offense taken at all... I was sitting here going "why didn't I use the painstop??!!" LOL I know I seem very anti grommets but its only because I had grommets placed 4 years ago with massive problems, and I can't even imagine trying to keep Matilda happy with those problems, I know you aren't supposed to get infections with them in, but I did and it was nasty....

mooshie Matilda's not in swimming atm...we took her out when the infections started....

Kathryn big hugs I hopey ou are okay.

Thanks for the hugs Christy. Had a pretty crap night which isn't surprising. Andrew went to the shops this morning and brought a huge bunch of flowers and a card to say sorry for spoiling our anniversary. I don't really like suck up jobs but took the flowers anyway.

Awww *hugs* to you Kat, I'm sorry you had such a bad anniversary
Some DP's/DH's just don't get it do they!?! My DP did the same thing to me last year, and tried to make up with flowers, but it just isn't the same is it?

I hope you are feeling a bit better now anyway....

Anyway, we took Aidyn to the Drs on Friday, and it looked like he had the beginnings of tonsilities, so he went onto anitbiotics which seems to have done the trick. Although now he has a little bit of a cough, at least his fever is all gone.
Turn out he is not allergic to the amoxycillan as we first suspected, as last time he got a rash, but it was coinciding with his MMR vaccination, and other stuff, so we were never really sure what the rash was cause by. So our Doc said we would trial the amoxycillan again, and it has turned out fine... not even any runny poos thank goodness!

anyway, will be back later, Aidyn is holding his shoes out to me which means he wants to go for a walk outside, and I can't possible turn him down...

    Poor Aidyn!!! Yuck at tonsilitis....

I forgot to mention when Matilda was sick on Friday that she smelled too... she was burping & it smelled like eggs & even when she screamed it smelled bad, the Dr said it was her infection but yuck... :feelsick:

I've had a full-on day at work & I'm pretty wasted now... Matilda decided not to sleep at day care today, so I left her there after work & came home & rested for an hour before I picked her up, I just couldn't face her being so cranky when I had just finished work & had to go back to work tonight.

Puppy pre-school went great. I love it...even when I'm sick & can barely talk I love doing it.

mooshie see you in a few days

    Hi girls!

My comoputer is so god damn slow tonight i feel like throwing it through the window, but I won't cos then I won't be able to see what's happening.

Christy- I am thinking of you all and hoping you all get some sleep soon and that Matilda is better and your cold clears up quickly.

Ambah- hope the walk was nice, and glad Aidyn is getting better, How's your visitor going?

Kellie- hope Paige's party went well.

Pee- hope your day with Ryley was good on Sunday.

Michelle- Hope Lani was well for her party too! Can't believe you are going to be here too soon. It's so sad isn't it?

Hope Kellee is doing well on her tour and having fun, and not missing Charlie too much (understatment of the century I think)

Kathryn- Andrew is a bugger! And stuff the mate on his last day! I actually book a night away every wedding anniversary and we get MIL to have the kids here, and we go away, cos we don't get lots of alone time with all these treasures. So like it or not we go somewhere!

Kelly- hope your lot are well, and Asha is feeling 100%.

I am sure I have missed people, so sorry to anybody I missed. hope you are going well too.

Well I have been MIA since Fri, did the big food shop at Sara Lee, just the place not to take Arron as his fav thing in the whole world is cheesecake LOL. We spent $200 but some of that was cheesecake and icecream for our polace LOL. I took Jess ica to the Drs Fri night, she was given drops for the eyes and antibiotics as she too had an ear infection. She is so tired today and has teeth pushing too. have to wait at least 2 wks for needles, cos she neds to be well.

Jordan's netball finals continued oin Sat with her shooting 7 goals and them into the grand final this weekend coming. That was exciting. I spent all Sat cleaning and then finshed the rest of the party shopping (another $200. had to go to the most boring Footy presentation imaginable on Sat night was home by 11pm, and I have a head cold so was glad to get into bed.

The party day was flat out and I had way too much food, I catered for about 80-90 and had only41 adults turn up and about 19 kids. I was a bit peed off cos people just don't think it's important to let you know what they are doing (one of Arron's Uncles rang the morning of the party saying that 5 of them were coming and only 2 of them turned up anyway). The day was very successful, Jessica was so gorgeous, walked around all afternoon entertaining her guests with gorgeous smiles and kisse too. She played with her little friends, but was totally exhausted by 6pm. had a quick sleep and then some dinner and back to bed. I have slowly put my huose back together and we have gotton rid of most of the leftover food. I am glad that it's over but wish in some ways it wasn't (baby growing up and all!) But Arron made a speech and thanked me for all my work, which was nice, cos usually he wouldn't, must have been the big sook I had on Thursday drawing to his attention the amount of work a party takes.

Well I am not well so I should go to bed, although I have slept practically alone for the last 3 nights and prob will again as Arron sits up watching stupid cricket and sleeps on the couch cos he falls asleep in the middle, plus he slept at his cousinslast mon, so 4 out of 7 nights sleeping alone. Bet it happens again! I want Australia to lose (very un-Australian I know) because they have played like crap and don't deserve to win IMO! LOL Really I couldn't care less.

    Goodnight all
    Michelle

    Morning girls !!

Not much happening this end of the woods.

Glad to hear the party went reasonably well Michelle. I agree with Christy it sounds exhausting LOL. So glad I have chosen a Hungry Jacks party this year, but if it wasn't for the surprise 60th I am hosting 2 weeks later I probably would have had something at home.

Just caught up on the avatars, now I have to kill 2 hrs before heading to playgroup LOL. The father is still turning up to playgroup and his son is still at it. At least he left Lachlan alone yesterday. One little boy had a toy shark that Isaac was playing with but he hadn't had it for a good 15 mins or so and Isaac pushed him into the table cause he wanted it back. So the father says to the other child. "Do you really need the shark", "Have you finished playing with it, I did get it down for Isaac to play with" I said to the father "Isaac needs to learn how to share he can't have it all his way" and the father says "yeah I know that, I was just asking if he had finished with it"

The mother of the son that had the shark thanked me for saying something to Isaac's dad, as she took what he was saying the same way I did ie basically telling the kid to give it to Isaac. When the little boy was pushed into the table he went to retaliate (sp) but his mum stopped him. I said "maybe you should let him and pretend you didn't see it"

Anyway today is Tuesday so the teachers are going to run playgroup today. I love Tuesdays, but the girls that come into do the playgroup session are a laugh and a half so that makes it heaps enjoyable and one seems to have befriended me so she is always paying me out about something LOL. Cracks me up.

Hopefully the teachers deal with the kid today! it is so hard for you all tohave to put up with it, but it sounds like his dad doesn't have very good parenting skills.

Christy- I don't have to have official confirmation, just a nod and a wink will do LOL, as long as I get something.

About to leave to go to Mums, Jessica is hysterical, still tired and not 100%, better go

Hello girls! Well Matilda has started sleeping from 6.30pm to 6am... so our sleep ins as of late are over :smt022 I love the uninterrupted sleep, don't get me wrong its what I dreamed about for over 12 months, but this getting up early may be even worse LOL.... ah well I'm sure my body will adjust to this new summer routine I don't mind the going to sleep at 6.30pm thats all good...more time with DH & all that, but the getting up early has been a shock. She went from waking up at 5am having a bottle & going back to sleep until 7.30am to waking at 6am ready to go...won't even take a bottle in the morning now, just pushes it away.... So today we went to the park for a play this morning which always ends in tears lol, and home for a HUGE morning tea & I put her to bed at 10.45am because she was over it all... ah well..... just as soon as one routine seems good, it dissappears.... like the wind...lol

I seriously think all the kids are emailing each other behind our backs. My boys are getting up at 6.15am every morning !! I probably wont mind so much in summer when it is 24 degrees when I step out of bed and not 10 LOL.
