danielle, you are NOT a failure. I can relate to the feeling, two c- sections and one failed bf attempt with my first. the only way we fail is when we fail to seek help! i was determined this time and i'm doing it.

one of the first things a pro will tell you is that you are losing your supply due to comp feeds. comp feeds are a no no when trying to increase supply. ditch the formula and get into bed with babe is my suggestion, and undress him to wake him up to feed more. drain the one breast completely. plus, the trigger to the brain to make more milk is frequency, not length of feeds.

can you describe to me what he does at the end of a feed? how many per day are you at? my good pal had a 10lb8ounce babe and she had to feed a LOT, and felt odd compared to her belly buddies who were progressing faster - she thought a big baby meant less feeds (more advanced so to speak). the babies know what to do, and if it is frequency for a week or two, give it one last bash. then if you go to formula, you know you gave it all you could. but a professional of some sort is essential as you need to pin down the issue.

don't be hard on yourself. you're doing great. get some support, cos you CAN do it this time.
