Danielle - hugs to you sweetie. It sounds like you are having a rough time of it. Like a few others have said, have a chat to a ABA councelor, they are great and then at least you have given it every chance possible. You are doing a fabulous job, so don't be hard on yourself. Things WILL get better, and no matter what the outcome (breasfeeding or formula) you are a wonderful mum... a bad mum would not even care.

I can't remember who asked, but I have a medala swing and it is amazing. It was recommended by some of the premmie mums I met in the special care nursery in hospital (they have to pump exclusivly so I'm guessing they would know!). The midwives also recommended it as it is the home version of the symphonies that they use in the hospitals. Also endorsed by the ABA. I had VERY sore nipples when I got home and had to pump after each feed to establish my milk, and it was very gentle.

thanks everyone for the support and being so caring...

I just couldnt do it anymore, so Ryley is on formula full time now he is like a different baby I had so much guilt and crying and feeling like ive failed as a mum from c sections and faled attempts of breastfeeding.

However I feel alot happier today about things cause he is sleeping like a normal newborn now is much more settled, so am I, and the whole house is happier all round. Now I can get on with bein a good mum and not a stressed out panicky yelling mummy things are really good now.

now im getting pain in my boobies from trying to dry up my sudden mountains of milk! ouchies! I will get there though.
    thanks again

Oh yes thanks sharon! I will say the same... happy mothers day to everyone! nobody more important in the world than our mummas... except our babies hehe

Did anyone get breakky in bed or anything for mothers day? I didnt But I did get a beautiful gold chain necklace to put my wedding rings on so I dont scratch Ryleys bum bum anymore when I change him! fantastic idea!

We got our mothers choccys, perfume, and a wooden frame that fits 4 photos in it and filled them up with gorgeous photos of the kids. They were so happy with what they got!

    What did everyone else get?

Oh and Lily brought home a painted pot with a flower seed in it, and a beautiful poem stuck to a paddle pop stick stuck in it, she handed it to me and said "please water me!" hehe such a darling I was bawling nothing beats the handmade stuff you get from your kids its wonderful!

My lovely DH made a handmade card and put a hand and footprint of Liam on it. A lovely thought (even though he thought he'd get in trouble for using paint on our newborn son!) and it's a great keepsake.

I got taken out for lunch too and we went to my SIL's for tea. A lovely day all round!

Danielle as long as you and bubs are both happy it really doesn't matter how he gets a nice full tummy, now you can stop beating yourself up about it and start enjoying him. You did a lot better than I managed, Oliver only 1.5 days from me.
Nettie LOL at DH thinking he would get in trouble for using paint on bubs feet, when Oliver was a week old I got out my scrapbooking paint and cardstock and got foot prints, was going to try and do hands as well but he had his fists too firmly closed.

I don't like breakfast in bed coz I hate crumbs in the bed, and also it's not very stable in a waterbed LOL but DH and Jordan did make pancakes for breakfast which was yummy, Jordan bought me a few things from the mother's day stall at school, and then Oliver and Jordan bought me some Guylian Chocolates, and DH bought me a bottle of Baileys We never go out for lunch/dinner or mother's day as I don't handle crowds very well so we usually do the lunch thing the weekend after.

    Mother's day - gift exchange

Good to see some DH's really thought about what to get, especially your Nettie I think what your DH did is precious. Danielle your DH was very thoughtful too.
I got a card from DH, which I guess I was lucky to get that even, mine asks what to get me and still didn't find the time to get what I suggested - which by the way was just a bottle of pink champagne and choccies advertised in the paper.
I got a wallhanging from DS that he made at daycare with his handprints and a card with a bunch of grapes stamped on it that said Mum, I love you a bunch.
Oh and 3 power chucks and lots of pooey nappies from DD.
The best part of Mother's day for me was what I gave DH a gift for Mother's Day - a little plaque that said "if i had to choose again, i'd still choose you". I did this because without him - I wouldn't be a mother.

Grubbi thats sweet you got your DH something for mothers day as well hehe, my DH has been playing the motherly roll in our house for quiet sometime with me having another c section and he has done well!

Sharon: Baileys??? yummmy! Sounds like we would get on well I love that stuff I mix it with milk and ice mmmm, I havn't had Baileys in ages! But I did have a can of rum yesterday after deciding to give up BF which was quiet relaxing being able to get back to being me and being able to do what I want I even had coffee this morning too! Wont be having too many rums though have you seen how much they have put pre-mixed drinks up? peevs me off cause I only ever have one or two in a blue moon and I only like the pre-mixed rum! hehe...

Nettie: oh your DH sounds like a darling! where do i find one of them? haha, mine would never think of such a thing hes not a real romantic... when he wants sex he's like... wanna have sex? pfft! like yeah I really feel like it now! taht is so sweet what he did for you!

Oh regarding sex for anybody else thats had C sectons.... how long until you were able to again? DH is nagging the hell out of me, and I am not ready to go there cause my belly feels so bruised ont he inside still although I am alot better than last time, and we had sex 2 weeks in after my 1st c section. I am just worried cause I am doing so well and so much better than last time that if i do have sex I will damage something and end up hurt and in bad bad pain again, I have been baby-ing myself heaps and being real careful with what i do cause I am doin so well I dont wanna go backwards! I mean I feel great and im only 3 weeks in! after 6 weeks this time I should be almost right, fingers crossed! took me 12 months last time somethin wasnt right last time.

Danielle, I'm not sure about sex either. I don't feel up to it yet, a bruised feeling, but DH has hinted a few times... I may see a doc cos the bruised feeling doesn't seem right to me. I was way more healed last time at six weeks along.

I got a book I wanted for mum's day and a few handmade things from DD. I barely noticed the day though, I'm in quite a fog at the moment. I kinda can't wait until this newborn stage is passed to be honest.
