lol! that's a funny story!! and without a shirt! yumm!
i always hoping while i was still pg and at work, that the fire alarm would go off and a cute fireman would have to carry me out! never happened! yes,they are usually babies or at the point of retirement.
hehe i watch playschool these days, so many ideas to pick up!

What is it about Firemen???? It must be the strong arms and all that rescuing stuff aaahhhh sigh. Enough daydreaming.

Some of my friends at work in Melbourne call them water fairies as they prance in and out!!! Bet they wouldn't like that if they heard it.

I am going out for dinner tonight with two close girlfriends. We have a girls night out every year last year we did it mothers day weekend silly us. We were all a bit sick so couldn't enjoy brekky in bed.
So we moved it to another weekend. Yes so dinner and drinks and then a bit of dancing and letting the hair down I think!!! Very exciting

Prama - finally got the passport - yeah, even I am relieved ! Congrats on the weight gain its always great to know that they are growing well. I hear you on the boobs thing. Yesterday morning I thought mine were going to explode.

Melissa - Luke has been sleeping through the night again (7.00 - 7.00) but I have not been sleeping well which is so annoying so haven't been having great sleeps. Finally got to sleep last night and he then decided to feed twice during the night - can't win. My boobs don't know whether they are coming or going! Hope you get some decent sleep soon.

Sue - I LOVE firemen as well. My DH plays rugby with a couple of them and they sometimes some down the game in the truck in uniform .......... mmmmmmmmmmmmm !!! Enjoy your night out. My mother's group are trying to organise a movie night for Sex in the City - can't wait.

Hello guys! Sorry it has been sooo long since I have properly written anything, but DD has been a nightmare. Basically ever since she got her first cold, so for the last month, she has not been sleeping unless she is moving or being held. I nearly had a nervous breakdown and then yest we decided to try the dummy again and for the first time she took it! She actually went down for a nap with the dummy yest afternoon, slept in her own bed last night (although woke up for two feeds and a few more times as she had lost the dummy), and she is napping now, with no screaming!! I was really struggling for a while there and feel like I am in heaven now. Last night I actually got the housework done, had some sleep and even got to finish a cup of tea while it was still hot!! Such an improvement; I couldn't have handled it much longer. Any time I got a chance to pop in here and read how you are all going (ie - when DH has been around to help), I was getting really depressed hearing how your babes were all sleeping through the night when mine wouldn't sleep at all! Now I can actually enjoy my daughter a little as we are both not so cranky anymore!

It is DD's baptism tomorrow, so I am trying to cook and get the house clean for everyone to come here afterwards, so it is a good time for her to finally get the sleep thing happening.

We had DD's CHN appointment the other day and she is now 6.2kg - still doing well but not at the top of the charts anymore, now she is closer to the middle.

prama - so glad to hear the passport is finally ready - I can't believe how long that took!

Jacki - how frustrating that when they actually sleep, sometimes we can't!! I can't wait to see Sex and the City - I am hoping there will be a mum and bubs session we can go to as I really enjoyed the last movie we saw with my mothers group.

sue - that is a really funny story!

diamond - I have been thinking the same thing - why doesn't my baby sleep for 12 hours?!

jen - glad to hear you are feeling better. Mastitis sounds terrible, so I hope you manage to avoid it!

jacki - thanks for being relieved! haha, you're so sweet. now i just hope it gets to us soon. but im really glad it got processed without any hiccups.

bun - glad to hear catherine is all better now and you're getting some rest. pls dont feel depressed about her not sleeping all night. it's really hard when you're sleep deprived and having a sick baby. i hope things get better. poopy is sleeping thru most nights, but doesnt sleep much during the day. only 15-30mins between most feeds. unless we're out in teh car or pram. i find it hard to get things done at home. breakfast/lunch takes hrs or just gobbling down. yes, i cant remember when i relaxed w a cup of tea. even if he's asleep, i keep thinking hes going to awake any moment. like right now.

Prama - I love the weekend too; DP always looks after bubby for a couple of hours in between feeds for me to go to town and have a run around and a coffee without bubby! Something to look forward too. Congrats on the passport! It shouldn't be too long. Not too long to go now; have you started the countdown?

Bun - Yai on trying the dummy again and Catherine taking it and sleeping! It makes it so hard if they don't want to sleep. Hopefully this will be the turning point!

Jacki - I sleep quite well between 9 pm and 3 am, but after this nightfeed, it takes me forever to go back to sleep and if I do sleep it is very light... Very annoying. Maybe i should try going to bed later, but i am afraid that the moment I do so, bubby will start waking up again...

Sue - Did you have a good night out? Haven't had a night out for ages!! If I did go I would probably fall asleep at 9 anyway.

Melissa - We are going to The Netherlands to visit my family; a cool 29 hour flight, so I am not looking forward to the travelling. But I haven't been home for 5 years so i am certainly looking forward to catching up with everyone!

Jenjams - How are you going? Hopefully the mastitis didn't take hold!

Not much has changed here since last post, apart from bubby being able to hold things and put them in his mouth. Today he nearly rolled from his back to his side, so the rolling thing isn't too far away either! We joined another mothersgroup this week and it was so much fun; so nice to be able to get out of the house and talk to other mothers. The first group was too much of a mixed bunch to keep getting together, so someone put me onto this one; I am glad she did! Bubby had a great time too; he didn't sleep from 1till 5 and was happy all the time; so much distraction he loved it.

Prama - excellent to hear that Kerrie is well... I was just thinking about her the other day and thinking of doing the same thing, you beat me to it!! Lakshman looking quite adorable! Not long til you go overseas now!

Melissa - I'm doing well, so far! My mum has just had twins as well so I have someone right by me to keep me sane, which is helping, but I don't agree with a lot of the things she does so when Alex gets to those certain ages there might be drama! I hope you get some decent sleep soon... Alex does have some long sleeps, but he chops and changes... So on the night that I do go to bed when he does it's the night he decides to feed three hourly overnight. Can't win!

Bun; Catherine looks very cheeky!!! How did the baptism go?

Esther, how exciting on the almost rolling! that's fantastic!! Stevi & charli have just started rolling and it's so adorable to see.

Gosh you girls that have or have had mastitis are doing a mighty fine job, i know it's when your not meant to, but i think that would be my breaking point for giving up.

P.S. Does anyone talk to Carley? How is she going? I think last time she was in she said Lysander had a horrible case of reflux.

Bun- Sorry to hear your DD has not been behaving like a lady. Hopefully now she will smarten up her act and decide to sleep so you can get some well earned rest. Has DH been helping you?
Prama- Woo Hoo on poopy's passport. He is such a cute little boy.
Esme- Thanks for thinking of me. I am right as rain now I still dont belong to a mothers group but I have met a couple of women from belly belly so better than nothing I guess.
Jackie- Well done on Luke sleeping well through the night. You feel so much better after a decent nights sleep.

Hello to everyone else.

Well we have changed Ambers night time routine slightly. We now bath her at 730. She has a feed then goes to bed. We wake her at 930 for her final feed. She is straight back to sleep. She will stir around 4 where we go and put her dummy in. She wakes between 5-6 for a feed. She has her feed and will go back to bed for anything up to 4 hours. She does stir a couple of times in between though. She only has brief naps during the day. Enough to go to the toilet or put a load of washing on. She is mostly keeping happy though.
Amber has learnt how to squeal. She has found her highest pitch and thinks it is hilarious to do it. It grates on the ears after awhile.
With the rolling, when Amber is on her back she can roll to her side where she is not far from going over.
Hooray my blocked duct is gone. The cabbage leaves worked a treat. If anyone has a blocked duct, get a cabbage!

We bought a BebePOD during the week (Same as Bumbo) and Amber LOVES it. She enjoys sitting up and seeing what is going on. I taught her to bake on Friday. i put her in her seat on the bench and she watched me make cookies.

Bun - sorry to hear you have been having a rough time. I don't know what I would do without my bub's dummy. He loves it !

Esme - great tohear you have joined a mums group that you like. I really love all the girls in mine, they are such a great support and a good laugh as well.

Jen - BeBepod/bumbo's are great. I but Luke in one at a friends house the other day and he just loved it. Thankfully your blocked duct has cleared.

Ash - pretty sure Luke just went though a growth spurt which throws all the routine out the window. Hopefully Alex won't give you too much trouble and be back to normal in a couple of days.

Haven't heard anything from Carley since she mentioned the Lysander's reflux ...... so Carley if you are out there and reading but not posting - we are all thinking of you and hopefully Lysander is getting better now that the bubs are all getting older!

Not too much new here. DS is in absolutely no hurry to roll - showing no signs at all. I guess its good in a way because he still pretty much hates tummy time so if he managed to roll onto his tummy from his back I think he would 'spit the dummy'.

BTW - So much for my movie night - DS has decided he won't take EBM !!! So frustrating.

It must have been "Think of Katkins Day" last week cos I thought the same the thing around the same time as the rest of you. Good to hear she is doing ok!

Thinga are going ok here. I am having a bit of trouble feeding Zoe at the moment. I am starting to think my milk supply is a bit low. She is starting to get really cranky on the boob after only sucking for about 5 minutes. At a few feeds she has completely lost it and refuses to come near me after a while. Luckily I had some breastmilk in the freezer so DH was able to top her up with that. It's quite stressful though. She never really seems to cry from hunger so I have been feeding her 3-4 hoursly. I am thinking I will have to try feeding her more often to get the supply going. It's all such a bloody puzzle isn't it!!!

Danda - I am also having troubles feeding DS sometimes. He gets stroppy and doesn't want to be on there after a few minutes. Sometimes he just wants to look at me and laugh or look around the room. Sometimes I just try the other side and see if that works. Otherwise I just close up shop. I am assuming he is taking enough and that he would let me know if he was still hungry (I hope).

Question - anyone thinking of introducing solids a bit earlier than 6 months ???

Jacki - I aim to exclusively breastfeed for at least six months; that said i do believe that solids are often baby led introduction and I am doing my best to be informed about the certain stages they go through so I can best reevaluate at a time where he may be interested prior to six months - did that make sense?

Not much to report on Alexander... not form memory anyhow!!

As for mums groups... i gave up. I feel quite lonely and isolated but i just felt out of place there so thank goodness for BB.

Danda - you cant delete the posts but if you want edit the latter to and just delete everything and write "double post". They are indeed a puzzle!!

Prama - wooohooo, you finally got the damn passport!!! As for the wedding planning... it's not really happening... there's lots of ideas in place it's saving money to be able to concrete them that is the issue

prama - woohoo on DS's passport arriving - that must be such a relief! We are going to Melbourne in July, so will have to get some travelling tips from all you girls who are travelling or have travelled with your bubs!

Jen - i am glad the blocked duct is all better now, that must be so painful. I find it painful enough if DD goes a while between feeds because my bbs get so huge - it's agony!

ash - DD is a very cheeky little girl! I hope you are having a better day with DS

esme - I am glad you have found a mothers group that suits you - I find my MG a lifesaver and was really lucky to get such a great group of women.

jacki - I have been thinking about solids too - I reckon DD would love it already. I asked the CHN about it and she said it was ok to start on a little bit of baby cereal already if I wanted. I haven't yet, but will soon.

I'm glad to hear that katkins is going well, I was thinking about her too.

Well, DD seems to have turned over a new leaf. She will still take her dummy and it seems to calm her down so much. She will now sleep on her own at night, is having decent naps throughout the day and is soooo much happier, it's like having a new baby! Around a week before she started improving, I got medication for her reflux and apparently it can take a week or so to work, so I have no idea if this improvement is because of the dummy, the medication or if maybe it has just taken a long time to get over her cold and she is now fully recovered. Whatever it is, I hope it continues!!

DD rolled over for the first time last week. it was hilarious - she rolled onto her tummy and couldn't roll back again so screamed! She hasn't done it again though. She seems to have learnt so much lately - she has heaps more control when grabbing at things, and pretty much everything gets shoved into her mouth these days. I bought her a jolly jumper and she loves it and is so cute in it!
