    Hi guys.

Ash - I glad you are feeling better. I understand those days, I have them too!! You are doing a great job hun.

Jacki - I am looking forward to starting solids too! I have given DD rice cereal a few times to see if it helps with her sleeping, but stopped because it didn't seem to be doing any good. She was happy to take whatever I gave her though! I will also be covered in multi-coloured spew when we start; DD never stops throwing up all over me!!

prama - I am glad to hear that the test results came back clear; you must be so relieved! Thankfully DD will take a bottle so someone can give me a break, but it is a while since anyone has done it! I think she is at an age where most people assume she sleeps ok, but she doesn't yet!

DD's sleeping has gotten bad again, so I am taking her to a chiro to see if maybe it is a back problem. She wants to sleep but just screams every time I put her down and I am running out of ideas! The chiro reckons he knows what the problem is and that he will be able to fix it. We will wait and see! I also took her back to the dr to make sure there isn't anything else wrong. He told me that the dr who prescribed her reflux meds gave her a really mild one which probably isn't doing anything. I had decided that she probably didn't have reflux since the meds didn't seem to help it, so I took her off it. Now it turns out that may be the problem but she needs something stronger! He gave me a referral to a paed, but hey can't fit me in for three weeks! Sigh... We have been putting her down on her tummy lately and it has made the world of difference. I know we are not supposed to, but it is the only way she will sleep! Up until now she has been sleeping on us on her tummy, so it is no different from putting her down in bed on her tummy and she is so much happier that way. Now I am just constantly worried about SIDS though! We just can't win!

    Hi everyone!!

Bun- that sucks that you cant get into the chiro for three weeks...you'd think being a bub they would sneak you in somewhere!

Ash- Awesome to hear that your PND is getting better!! Keep smiling!!

Jacki - Nice weight!!! How you going with the weather down there?

Prama - what a relief that Lakshmans results came back negative!! Noah recognises his bottle too, he lunges for it..lol...then grabs it and HAS to hold it with me...

We have started Noah on solids, just the little 4 month jars and baby cereal, he wolfs it down. We were having dramas last week with him being very unsettled , so we narrowed it down to maybe his bottle isnt satisfying/filling him up, so gave the solids ago and he has been a totally different little man!!

I hope you are all doing well!!

poor baby, it's beraking my heart to see him sick.
paed has given him some antihistamine. she said there's a bug going around and it will take abt a week to clear up.

    hi girls,
    quick one from me.
Ash - great to hear you're getting better

Prama - it's tough when they're ill. Both DDs have been ill this last week and i was also so ill i had to get a nanny to help as I couldn't get out of bed! It was tough as i'm never ill. And there's no such thing as a sick day now you're a mum! Almost recovered now though.

bun - you reminded me that we saw a chiro with DD1 for a year and they were fantastic. Definitely worth a try.

My DH has gone to the USA today for 2 weeks with work so i'm alone with a toddler & a baby with no one to help at the weekends! Wish me luck!

    Hi Girls,

Roya -- Good Luck. You will be fine ( tired but fine ). You will probably find you will just get into your own little routine and then he will be home.

Prama -- poor Lakshman. Hope he is better very soon.

Bun -- You poor thing. Hopefully the chiro will work. I also hope that the reflux meds are working. Don't stress too much about the tummy sleeping, she can roll and before long she will be wombat sleeping anyway. Big hugs to you, you are doing a great job. Can you ring the paediatrician and try and get in any earlier -- maybe go on standby for any cancellations or something??

Minky -- its so much fun when they start to eat! You won't believe how much they will put away before long lol

    Hi to everyone else

Well my 3 angels are all ASLEEP AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!

DS1 had Kinder yest and today very tired and he turns 5 tomorrow so I put him to bed. Then DS2 started getting grumpy so he went off to bed and then DD went to sleep. Its only the 2nd time since DD was born that they have all had a day sleep together. Its so quiet.

I can't believe he turns 5 tomorrow we are having a small party with his cousins tonight and then a Mc D's party tomorrow afternoon for 15 kids!!!!! SOOOOOO MUCH better than having it at home now that they are bigger.

Must go have to finish the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom Cake (yes the requests get more extravagant as they get older too )

    Have a good day everyone

roya - you poor thing, kids sick and dh away! im lucky enough that we're sick and my mum can look after poopy while i go have a rest so i can get better soon. so true, no such thing as a sick day when you're a mum

Ok, firstly I want to apologise to you lovely ladies. I feel horrible as every time I read I don't post and when I do post it's always very selfish and me me me. So I just want to say I'm sorry, I have been following all your stories I'm just not myself at the moment and I hope to be posting normal as soon as possible.

Bun - so sorry to hea you're having so much trouble with Catherine's sleeping. I agree with Sure though, once she can roll there'll be no stopping her anyway! You can get monitors to put under the mattress for tummy sleepers if it is somethign that worries you. I've been a tummy sleeper all my life so it will be interesting to see how DS is.

Minky - love the av sweetie And the ticker of Noah is gorgeous!!! Woohooo on starting solids - it's good to hear Noah is enjoying them! How is your DD, still the doting big sister?

Prama - I'm sorry to hear about sick Lakshman - Alex woke up miserable this morning because of his blocked and snuffly nose and I felt so helpless so I feel for you sweetie, it must be hard. How is KL going? Sorry to hear you caught a cold too.

Roya - hope the single mum for two weeks isn't too hard on you, I can imagine it'd be difficult with a baby and a toddler. How is Sarina, still a cuddly big sister?

Sue - OMG five you must be so excited!! And scared I guess. Wow and school next year! How exciting for you and your little man, albeit heartbreaking and nerve wracking at the same time. Can't believe you're making an Indie cake, now that's commitment 3 sleeping at once, now that is pretty cool!!!

Okay, that's as far as the page goes back for now so I'm sorry to those who I have missed I hope you are all doing well!!

AFM: Solids - DS has no interest whatsoever, so we're just going to wait it out and go baby led.
Breastfeeding - Still going, no intention of stopping anytime soon.

We've had a bit of a rough patch but I was told that it just happens at four months, so there was about four weeks of constant feeding forty minute naps and broken night sleeps. We seem pretty back to normal now, thank goodness!

It's amazing to see him growing up and all the different things he can do now. He doesn't take much interest in toys on the floor, but he loves his bouncer which has flashing light keyboard thing and a seesaw and rolling ball and over the last few days he has sat there so intently learning what to do with it. So amazing to watch.

He's going to be a little runner I tell ya He steps in his jolly jumper rather than bouncing, toooo cute and he loves it!! No rolling yet, he seems to do a bit of caterpillar crawling and lots of 360's when tummy time and he chats and laughs so so much. He is in love with Raggs the dog - everytime I sing the wag-n-wiggle song he laughs and kicks around. It's gorgeous.

Now that the PND is under control I am slowly trying to wean him off the dummy again - I became so dependant on it when I couldn't cope that now I am trying to just entertain him or find him something new to do. He'll still have it for night sleeps and probably naps but I need to stop giving it during the day.

We;re not wrapping anymore, we have a Bubbaroo sleeping bag and it his one of his sleep cues, which i think it is fantastic. We only use it at night, and in the daytime he just goes straight into the cot. We cosleep occasionally when he wakes early and I love being able to snuggle with him.

Okay that's enough of a ramble from me I think I've covered everything and MORE lol, so I'll leave you gals to it. Promise I'll try and pop in more.

ash - dont worry about doing personals, it's hard when there's so little time!!

    glad you're feeling better.

poopy still thinks wrapping is a game. we only wrap him at night. when we wrap him we roll him fast onto the side to get the wrap udner him and he laughs cos he thinks it's funny.

    i better go, he's awake.

    p.s. what does AFM mean?

    Hi Ladies,

I have been so slack at replying even though I have been reading this thread constantly. I will try my best at personals....

Bun- I really hope the chiro and the paed can help you. You both deserve a break. You are doing a fantastic job. Catherine is beautiful.

Prama- I hope you are on the mend. Nothing great about being in a tropical climate and being sick! Poopy sounds like he is behaving for his grandmother.

Minky- That pic of Noah is gorgeous. We too have started solids. It is fun!

Sue- Wow a house of quietness! The Indiana Jones cake sounds great. You must take a pic of it.

Ash- I am glad you are getting on top of your PND. And it sounds like Alexander is back to behaving for his mummy. Thats great! Well done on such a good job with him.

Roya- I agree sometimes DH's can get in the way! Just the girls for a couple of weeks. Lets hope your girls are good while daddy is away!

Sorry if I have missed anyone.

DD rolled from tummy to back last Saturday. We wern't even watching. So we put her back on her tummy and she rolled again. She has only done it a few times again. Sometimes when I put her on her tummy she likes it, and sometimes she hates it.
As mentioned above, we have started solids. I have been hoping to hold off as long as possible but she was starting to reach for our food and was so intently watching us eat. We have been on the rafferties rice cereal. She loves it. Just this evening we tried pumpkin as well and she liked that too. She seems to eat a lot of it too.
With her sleeping, she was going from 830-6 consistantly but the last week we have frequent waking periods and sometimes having a feed at 12 or 1 .

Well I have written a big enough novel..... Happy weekend to all.

    Hi Guys,

Prama -- the Indiana Jones Cake is chocolate cake for the base, jam rolls to make the temple, icing, and the jelly snakes and jelly beans for treasure. Have to put it all together will take a photo later!!

Bun - I'm not looking forward to the technicolour spews !! I don't think you should worry about DD sleeping on her tummy but if it is really worrying you you can always get a breathing monitor to go under her mattress for piece of mind.

Minky - Bit stormy down here in Perth. But we have had such beautiful weather lately. Bet the weather up in Hedland is gorgeous this time of year ! Being at work I never realised just how nice winter is over in Perth. I used to get up v.early and stand at a freezing bus stop to go to work and by the time I was coming home it was already dark and freezing again. But being home and not venturing out until mid morning at the earliest makes you realise how nice it is and makes me love even more being a SAHM.

Prama - sorry to hear poor little Lakshman is poorly.

Roya - good luck coping without DH for 2 weeks. Sometimes I think DH makes more work for me when he is around !!

Sue - hope you made the most of the miracle of 3 children sleeping at once !! Sound's like a great cake. I am HOPELESS in the kitchen but guess I had better brush up on some baking skills soon. Won't be long before I will have to make the birthday cakes !! (There is always the bakery!!)

Ash - we had the same with DS from 4 - 5 weeks. Quite unsettled, waking a lot at night, grizzly, needing lots of attention. But over the last couple of weeks he has been an angel. We just have to keep reminding ourselves that the difficult period will pass (eventually). I guess the next "spurt" is around 6 months and will bring with it a new load of 'interesting' behaviours. I use a dummy with DS at night and for every day sleep. He sleeps MUCH better during the day with it so am very reluctant to get him to give it up. I try and keep it strictly for sleeping only and don't want to fall into the trap of using it for other reasons.

Jen - sounds like Amber is doing great. No rolling or signs of crawling going on here !! I think I have one placid, content and lazy bub !

Tried DS on rice cereal early in the week. Had it pretty runny and he seemed to take it OK. Don't suppose he really ate much of it though. DH tried to give him some yesterday but it was a little bit thicker and wasn't so successful. Gagging etc ! So not too sure if too thick, not really for solids, or just didn't want any. Will try again tomorrow. But I would gag too if someone tried to feed me that !!

Looked in to day care yesterday and put name down on a couple of waitlists. Probably not going back to work until January. I intend to go back 2 days a week with DS in day care one day and DH staying at home another. DS won't take the bottle so I have plenty of time to get him used to a sippy cup before returning to work. Is anyone using day care yet ?

    Hi Jacki,

I'm not sure when I will go back to work. The finances wont hold up if I dont go back to work. But with the daycare, the costs involved are huge. I know it is 50% tax deductable but you dont get that back until tax time. I will have to seriously start thinking about it though.
We used the Rafferties cereal. I have tasted it and it isnt too bad at all. I have heard farex is terrible.

    Hi all,

Sorry, not many personals again.... Too difficult to get behind the computer overhere! Hope that all the sick bubbies and mothers are recovering well! And so happy for you Ash for seeing some light at the end of the tunnel! Keep up the good work!

Last week Jasper got stung by a wasp on his cheek when we were walking to the shops. He was in the hugabub and all of a sudden he started to squirm and scream. I had a look and there was a wasp on his cheek! Luckily it flew off without doing more damage but DS had a very red cheek for a day! At least we know that he is not allergic to wasps...

We are still enjoying our holiday; trying to catch up with everyone and doing some sightseeing at the same time. All this in between Jasper's naps as he decided he doesn't want to sleep in the pram my mum has overhere... Lucky he does sleep a little bit in the hugabub, so we do get out and about a little. He is all over the place with his naps; last week we had him on a 2 hours awake and than 1.5 to 2 hour sleep pattern during the day which was heaven, but the last couple of days he gets tired and grumpy after just one hour and than sleeps for 45 mins. He also wakes for at least one if not two night feeds again and he is grumpy for a lot of the time... Hopefully he will settle when we get home. Not trying to hard to change anything at the moment. He is trying to stand a lot and sometimes refuses to sit if you want him too; he arches his back and screams; looking forward to the toddler tantrums... We will wait with solids until we are home, but he is definately showing interest and tries to grap our drinks and food.

Sorry girls, that's all for now... Wish everyone a good week!

    Hi Everyone,

Esme -- Poor Jasper! I am a big girl and I hate wasps. Hope he is sleeping a bit better for you. Also hope you are enjoying your trip. When do you return home??

Jen / Jacki -- I have returned to work just working a shift on a weekend on a casual basis. Its good because I get paid, have adult contact and a bit of a break from my 3 but I miss them so much when I am at work, but we really need the extra cash!

The party went well, he got some lovely pressies. Most of the Mums just left the kids with me and then came and got them at 5.30 when it was finoshed! I was a bit surprised I was flattered that they trusted mebut I wouldn't leave DS1 at a McD's party by himself just yet. Anyway no major dramas which was good.

Prama -- how are you?? Haven't heard from you in a while hope you are just too busy to post!

Bun -- how are you. How is your DD sleeping?? Have you seen the paed yet or the chiro? I hope there has been a bit of improvement

DD is watching intently while we eat and is a bit constipated so i think i might give her a bit of pureed fruit soon. The fun begins. It is another thing to do but they do pull the most awesome faces when they try new things he he

    Hope everyone is well
