Bec – A four bedroom sounds great, I hope you get it. You could have a Playgroup meet up when you are settled in? Great job getting a separate thread, I will post in there later. It was just for one night and they are picking me up from work today on their way home. The dogs and I had a good night hanging out together (that does sound weird).

Kate – That’s great news that you have done your tax and you will have the money soon. IKWYM about one wage, our tax is going to pay off the credit card. We also want to buy a min of 50 acres and a farmhouse as an investment for DH’s MIL & FIL to live in and are trying to work out how we can do it. Just going to reply to your eBay hints thread, there is so much to tell you. Six weeks will go fast and then you will be holding another baby in your arms. You should be eating properly too! Hope you haven’t had anymore nasty cramps. The molars could explain why Kelse has been a bit unsettled at night. Woo Hoo at the room almost being finished.

Rachel – What a good boy Blake is getting his shoes. DH has a theory about TF and that if you do it strictly for 2 weeks then go off it you body may do the big weight loss again. It takes two days for ketosis to kick in. Haven’t tested the theory. TTC # 3 is so exciting, what does Viv think? Is she excited? Like I said, I hope we can be Belly Buddies again. Sorry to hear Blake is not sleeping well. I mentioned this to Brooke that one of us sleeps on the matress next to Amy’s cot and don’t say anyting, no reassurance no cuddles. She knows we are there so she goes to sleep in a few minutes and it is working well for us when she is unsettled at night

Hayseed – Oh no poor Pup! Good luck with TTC and the Clomid, try not to let the TTC journey get you down. Pup is a healthy little boy and you will have another baby soon. Good luck. How do you get Clomid and what does it do? We have been TTC for about 9 months but I think (hope) it has been poor timing as I have been O late and my cycles have been longer.

Deb – Poor Al too. So this sounds like the next phase in our babies lives – scrapes, bumps and bruises. Some babies don’t get to play in playgrounds so he is lucky to be out there. Hope you got lots of rest. LOL at Al saying french, he is a multi-linguist! And LOL too at Amy teaching Al some words.

    Hi Brooke and Bel.

I now have a Belly Belly e-mail address, how exciting! Gemma@bellybelly.com.au. Thanks and have a great day!

So Deb, if you or DH don't speak French, where is Al picking it up from? I am impressed though...god I wish I could speak another language. I reckon that the single language issue for most Aussies is the only down side to living here. We are just too far and isolated for any real need for a second language to be spoken. Not like in Europe. Yeah, I know that there are plenty of others here that speak other languages, but not like a major second language (if you get my drift?!)

My neice was nearly 5 when her and her family moved to Germany for 2 and half years. It was right as she was going to shcool for the first time so she learnt in German. They now live back here and she attends German school to keep it all up. Luckily they have German friends that they see that talk to her in German. She also reads fairytales and watches cartoons in German too - looks funny to see well known characters speaking a different language!!!

Aww poor Al. Ouchy on the gravel rash. Happens so often to toddlers though. pup fell in the bath tonight (face first) but managed to get his hands out in front of him and stopped his head from going under. Near miss!

Gemma, I got the clomid from my fertility specialist. From what I understand, apart from increase production of eggs (in an attempt to get a goodies amongst them) it can also lengthen LP, which was where I thought I was starting to suffer. My LP was only 9 or 10 days instead of at least 14. Temps were great and then BAM! AF would arrive. I was thinking that maybe I was getting pg, but LP was too short to allow anything to get going. Hopefully (fingers crossed) 1 cycle of clomid will do the trick.

In the words of Danny Glover" I'm getting too old for this s*it!!"

Well, I *think* I can say that Pup said his first word tonight. "NO". Fantastic (not!). Imagine that...his first word is "no". Just goes to show how much we have been saying it to him lately. Sigh.... he couldn't have come out with kiss, hello, good boy, clap, yay, mum, dad...it had to be NO. Great! And it was as clear as a bell. Oh well, could have been worse. Could have been F**K!!

He has been trying to talk for some time now. He says "sssssss" for puss, "ffffffff" for woof (meaning dog), "mmmmmm" for moo (meaning cow) and clicks his tongue to make moise of horse trotting. Not always on request, but getting better.

Kate-Hoorah for sleeping. I hope Kelse's teeth stop bothering her, they're buggers aren't they? Yeah we looked at 2 houses and the first one was very unimpressive and second one I liked (this was the 4 bedder) but after thinking and thinking about it the less and less I like it. But there's still a few on our list we just can't get in to see them yet.

well girls, just lost a massive post because of Coby coming in and pressing buttons, AAAARGGGGGHHHHH! That $h!ts me beyond imagination!! He does it all the time!!

Kate not good that you are uncomfortable, hoepfully you will feel better soon.

Hay, poo to AF, hope the clomid works for you this month

Bec, good luck with the house hunt

Amy, we spoke to our DR about the time out thing and he was the one who recommended it because of Coby's temperament, he said its never to early to start, obviously you're not going to start when they're 3 months old, but we were recommended to start at 12 months, they can understand most things at that age, so you should start then, because if you allow it to go on and then try to correct it later, its really hard to do. We don't just put him in there for random stuff, its only if he's chucking a massive tanty and he's only been in there 3 times all up in the last month or so. Its working because when he starts a tanty, we just say to him now "do you want to go to your room?" and he stops.

Deb, wow at Al speaking french, but Im with Hay, how did he learn it??

Brooke, that's SOOOO cute about Maya whispering in your ear, she's such a lovely little girl, sooo sweet, I wish Coby would get a bit of her sweetness, I try to kiss him and he slaps me in the face or pushes away - NICE!!

Vanita, have you got the fridge yet? Sounds so big you can all sleep in there in summer when its hot tee he he!!

    Sorry if I missed anyone.

We're ok here just cruising along, nothing much happening, although I can see Coby's "fangs" are nearly cutting through, yippee! He's been running everywhere and falling over, we've had that many cut lips in the last 2 weeks, and eggs on heads, its awful - I just try not to watch anymore, otherwise I'd be a nervous wreck!

We had Coby's first hair cut on Thursday, he was pretty good, DH had his done at the same time so they sat together. He wasn't scared of the scissors but was a bit wriggly at times, but on the whole pretty good. He looks like a real little boy now without his whispy baby hair.....boooo, I miss it now.....

It was my birthday on Thursday so we had a nice family dinner here on Thursday night, Coby was funny, running around entertaining everyone. He's a real little live wire now!

Im going to update Coby's website soon with new pictures, I'll let you know when I do....

Hope you are all well and having a good fathers day...

Well if hair is anything to go by as far as babys loosing their "baby looks", then Pup is going to look like a 6 month old for AGES.....He still has very little hair. This week I will do a new website for him and post some recent photos and you can see for yourselves. He's a baldy baby!!

    Hi!

PMSL @ you guys impressed with Al's french words! He has his own language I tells ya! There is nothing learnt, just so happens we recognise a couple of bits of the babble he repeats as french.

The 'excema' or whatever it is on his face just gets worse. I spoke with another mum at the playground on sat and she reckons her bub got it right after his vaccinations. I guess Al did too, but he has still not had the 'big vax' yet, so will definately wait til this clears before we go for that.

We are back in the pool as it didn't make any difference to his skin stopping that. We are also back for a second term of 'Baby Bongo', which he loves.

The Day Care that we applied for (it is compulsary to sign up for one within 4 months of birth here) has come through with a vacancy. I am thinking about trying him out there for 1 or 2 mornings a week from October, just as an exercise. There is such enormous pressure here on getting the kids 'socialised'. All the mothers in my mothers group just don't understand me at all. They say they are so happy working full time and say they just couldn't be at home with their baby. I feel very isolated/different because of that.
But the reason I will try it out with Al is I think it might help his language development and also as winter is approaching a different play space should be fun for him. Once Baby no 2 comes along I'm certain it will be handy to have somewhere for him to play while I have my hands full.

sorry for no personals..just except to say HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY Bel!

thanks for all the birthday wishes!!

Deb, wow that childcare is compulsory, that's different. I guess you would struggle with some things there, considering you come from a completely different culture, we are all trying to push for staying at home with babies because we think it makes them well rounded, and they are trying to go back to work and socialise their babies because they think that makes them well rounded. It must be hard for you, especially considering your DH is Danish so he would have those values too....

Coby has HEAPS of eczma on his bum, and I don't know how to get rid of it, I've tried a few things, but nothing is working, any suggestions??

Also, what brand nappies does everyone use? I've been using Huggies but money is getting tight so I am looking for a cheaper alternative, that is just as good....What about snugglers? Or babylove? The huggies have been leaking on him at night lately, I don't know whether he should go up to the next size or not, but the weights don't match up....

Kate, Coby looks soooo grown up now with his hair cut, I miss his baby hair....wwaaahhh! Don't worry, Kelse will get lots of hair soon and you'll be able to tie ribbons and lots of lovely things in her hair. I can't believe people would think she's a boy, she's too pretty....

Just a quicky. I think I'll take Blake swimming this morning - perhaps being on TF and losign 4.1kg has made the pool more appealing!

Bel, we use Aldi's Mamia nappies for day and Huggies at night. Blake was in the walkers size a couple of months ago (before he was full on walking). They seem to still be working -touch wood. He's a big boy though so I'm not surprised we're up a size early.

Had a pretty good father's day with the in-laws although poor Viv felt she wasn't getting enough time with HER Dad as DH was spending time with his Dad. All very traumatic.

Actually the most traumatic was coming home when we were side-swiped by a 4Wd through a roundabout. The driver was supposed to turn right in right lane and went straight instead, right into our(MY) car! Grrr! Fortunately it's drivable still. Took it for assessment, and will probably be booked in for repairs next Monday. Just all inconvenient. I'm glad we pay a little more for our insurance so we can have a hire car. Will be handy with 2 kids and all their activities. At least I should have my car back by school holidays. Vanita, I guess they really only affect you and me! No doubt you'll be busy too!

Sorry no time for personals - I hear the pool calling.

    xx

Oh Rach, well done on the 4+kg loss. Yep, get to the pool and burn some more weight off. How are you going Vanita??? I'm doing nothing.........thinking of upgrading my bike so I can put a baby seat on it, but given that it is damn hard to ride around here, I just dunno. When the tracks have dried out and they are hard enough to ride on a bike around the farm, the flies are just so bloody bad that you don't go outside. For the past couple of years, we've had to wear fly nets when we are outside doing jobs as the flies are just so bad. It is over a period of about 2 and a bit months, so there's no much to do but put up with them. And the mild winter and below average rainfall is going to nothing to lessen the numbers this year either.

Bel, we are cloth users, so I can't comment on disposables. Could I tempt you to cross over to cloth??? LOL. Saves a lot of money for not much more time.

    Hi Everyone

Deb- It's interesting to see the differences in other countries. I can't believe they can't imagine being at home with their children all the time, they must think we're all weird then, lol.

Bel- Happy Birthday for the other day, I hope you had a great day.

Rachel- OMG at your accident. Fricken 4WD, I hope that no one was hurt in anyway but I bet you all got a fright. Woooohoooo at 4.1kgs, that's fab, have a great time at the pool.

Bec, thanks for the birthday wishes

Kate, thanks for the eczma info, I will go today and get something for him, its just awful. I can't help but think that its the nappies doing it to him, not keeping him dry enough, we use Huggies, and they just don't seem to be working??? I tried the next size up on him last night and it didn't leak, but he was still VERY wet when he got up this morning. I think I just need to break the cycle first and it will be fine. I've heard that those Aldi nappies are made by Huggies, is that right? Dont worry Kelse will be walking soon and when she does, you can put her in the occasional care and have a break for a little while....Not that you'll get much of a break with a new little one though...

    Vanita, where are you?

Brookey, you still here honey? Miss ya...

Hay, no, couldn't convince me to use cloth, sorry. I tried an environmentally friend nappy a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic, overnight, no leaks, so thinking about getting some of them...How's the TTC going? Any news yet?

Rach, you ok? Silly driver, must have been scary for you all... Hope everyone is ok...How did swimming go?

Deb, how are you feeling? How many weeks now? Any scans yet?

Coby and I are off to swimming today, should be fun, he loves it so much. He's so funny now, he dances to Hi-5, and loves "Face" on Nick JR and a few other shows, although he doesn't sit and watch, just glances as he's running past to do something else. He runs into the loungeroom now and goes and sits on his little lounge, and looks like such a big boy. We are constantly amused by him and his antics, very funny to watch. Hes just growing up so fast....so independent too!!

Ok, time to try catch up : )

Bel, happy bday for the other day, sorry to hear Coby has eczema bad, I wold try some of the creams Kate has suggested. Glad to hear he is enjoying life, and you too....

Rachel, its a real pill when the car is out of action, especially with the hol's coming up, do you have any big plans?? We are thinking of going to soveriegn hill, and phillip island fairy parade, definately NOT scienceworks LOL. but I am still working so there are days it will be just DH and the kidlets whilst I zzzzzzzz. He is on a months leave ATM. ( just started on Friday) well done with the weight loss, I havent weighed and wont for a few weeks.

Deb, hope you are not tooo exhausted, How is the MS???? Its funny isnt it how different cultures, have different beliefs. I guess you just need to bo true to yours, hope Al enjoys a little time at childcare, and let you have some rest ( it does help, trust me)

Kate, putting Kelsey into occasional care is a good idea, let you have some rest time, and time to "be" with the new bubs.

Hay, LOL there is Noooooo way you could convince me to use cloth either LOL. I tried for 1 day with the twins and cried. so many nappies, at the time we were only on tank water, and we had to pay for water when it ran out ( which was regularly) so cloth nappies just didnt work for us, now I admit I love the convenience of disposable. we use huggies only. You need a 4wd bike from the sounds of it.... Ugh to the flies, you need to go to the gym ( no flies, and air con, he he exercising in comfort LOL)

    Bec, allo !!!

    Gemma, hello too!!!!

Dion is seeing his paediatrician next week about his chest and his "lack of weight gain" I know theres no answers though.....*sigh* we are all well here and preparing for the fridge arrival, ( any day now LOL) DH is changing some of the cupboards in the kitchen, as we need to move the microwave ( currently on top of our old fridge), and preparing for Rianna's 3rd bday party. just sent out the invites - slacko i am ), the last three night I have gone on a 6-7 km walk with my little sis after the kids in bed, first time we did this walk ( a couple of weeks ago) it took me 2 hrs, we're down to just an hr ( its up and down hills, so quite "cardio" wont be able to go tonight as at work on nights ( have been at training days last 2 days) so surely gotta be doing something?????? ( I still look as fat I reckon!!!)
Hope you are all good, will try keep up....
    mwah to all

Vanita- Hellllloooooooo there. Good on you for the long walks, I'm sure you'll notice changes soon if you keep it up. Good luck with the paed

    Yes where is Brooke??

Those walks will pay off soon enough Vanita. Good on you. LOL at exercising in air condition comfort in the gym....

Pup was quite crook yesterday and I thought that he might be coming down with gastro - he had a temp of 38+ and was so lethargic. I couldn't get him to eat anything and wouldn't drink much either. Gave him 3 lots of panadol (last one at midnight) to try and control fever. Seems to have worked. Didn't get any spewing or pooping, so it's not gastro. he is better today, but still "off". Dunno what's wrong?????

Bel, TTC is not quite happening atm. In a couple of days. We are on a timetable now! I am on day 3 of clomid (of a 5 day course) and then have to bd every 2nd day from CD14.

    Hi girls.

Its such a blessing this website, honestly I think I would be really doubting what I'm doing at times without your support here.Thank you for your support on the SAHM issue I'm having.

Bel - we use a homebrand nappy here which is fine. He is into pull ups now too, as the sticky tape ones always seem to end up hanging between his knees somewhere. Blasted excema hey. I read in another thread someone recommended Body Shop Hemp Body Butter. But I haven't tried it yet. I am trying to avoid cortosone treatment here already so see what happens naturally. Let me know if you find a solution.
As for the preg Bel and Vanita - I am less nauseous and not feeling so pregnant most of the time, as I'm fairly busy with Al. First scan is on 22nd! Woohooooo! I think I am in week 9 or 10...need to sort out a ticker maybe :-)

Vanita - good on you for the big walks. So much more fun to do with your sister too. Good on you both.

Rachel - woohoo for getting back in the pool. I bet there was nothing to worry about and you had heaps of fun.

Kate - yep I meant the MMR one - we do it at 15mths here. And this child apparently got his excema right after that. I am really scratching my head wondering how this (excema on Al) can happen, but its just a baby thing I guess...I hope.

Bec- any news on the house front? We're still not having much luck here.

Hayseed - poor little pup, must be fighting a little infection somewhere for his temp to come up like that. Hope its nothing. Can you start BDing earlier and more frequently - or does it have to be as you said?

    Hey Brooke and Gemma!

OMG Al has got his own laptop and he is over the moon!!! PMSL.DH had a spare hanging around, that is pretty outdated and sturdy and now it belongs to our 1 year old. I don't know how long it will last, but we will try and teach him to look after it. I'm happy though, it gives us a small break as he is constantly wanting to play on ours!
