    Hi All
    Quick question for those BF:
Have you noticed any foods that give your baby the runs? Autumn has had them for two weeks now and her test results came back negative today for any bugs...

I said before i got pregnant with DS1 that I would get my long curly hair cut short but it is still exactly the same!! I would love to have short hair but as it is curly I worry that it would be a major case of curly curly frizz hair if it was short. Not too much you can do with my hair - well thats my excuse!!

Mel - I wanted more than one but my mum is here so I didnt want her to think I was hitting the bottle he he he!!! Tomorrow night maybe!

Thanks for the laugh Jem, you crack me up It's exactly what I think when I have someone here, oh how true!!! Ah still laughing...........

Sacha, the ones I keep out are

    Beans
    Peas
    Chilli
    Garlic
    Spicy Foods
Cut back on dairy cause of Jack's reflux
    Cabbage
    Onion

And if I notice his poos are getting runnier I cut out fruit for awhile. But no reason to do so, I just do it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Did she get tested for Lactose Intolerance.

Well, I’m so far behind! I’m not going to even come close to doing personals for everyone in one go, so I’m just going to go with the flow a bit.

Sacha – I do sometimes feel like a bit of a failure because he doesn’t sleep through
so it’s really nice to hear that someone else has a baby that doesn’t sleep through. And whilst I’m mostly with you because I enjoy those moments overnight when it’s just the 2 of us, sometimes I wish that I could have more than 4 hours sleep in a row. Liam also drinks like he’s never been fed before in his life, so I kind of think that he’s still waking for a reason.

Flossie – welcome back, it’s good to hear from you. Re the swimming lessons, I’m not planning to start these just yet, cos I’ve heard mixed views on them. I think my thing will be something like Mini Maestros for him at 6 months, cos this doesn’t require me getting into bathers iykwim!! My mum & Dad have a pool, so on the hot days I’ll probably just paddle him around in that for some fun.

Dani – you sound like you managed Oscar’s injections really well. It’s weird, I was fine with the 1st lot of needles but I’m really not looking forward to the 4 month ones. Think that this is because I took him to the Paed for the 8 week ones, & I loved the paed so I knew it would be all good, but it’s off to the council for the next lot, and I don’t know them, so worried that I might get a dragon nurse who’s really rough with him…I hope you enjoy the wedding this week, I think you’re very brave leaving him for a night, not sure that I could do it, even with my Mum..

Nicky – new signon! Firstly, I’m so sorry to hear that your MIL’s cancer is back, that’s terrible news, have my fingers & toes crossed for her appointment tomorrow. Well done on the BF, it’s great that it’s getting easier for you, and obviously working for Lachlan, cos he’s growing really well from the sounds of it. He’s .5 cm longer than Liam was at 4 weeks, and only a little bit lighter (my munchkin was 6.8kgs)

V – yum for the caramel mud cake. I’m currently addicted to mince pies from Bakers Delight, which is really bad, cos they don’t help my waistline one little bit, and they’re expensive, well, they’re expensive when you can eat as many as I can, although I am trying to exert some self control by only buying them once a week.

Mel – I think you’re doing a super job managing your foot & 2 little ones with your DH being away. I like that you’ve bought yourself a “fighter” fish.

Em – how did the haircut go? LOL at the ponytail everyday – thought I was the only one who was this lazy, I swear that Liam doesn’t recognize me with my hair out..

Megan – you poor thing, it sounds like you’re having a rough day. How short did you get your hair cut? Will it make a difference once you’ve slept on it & washed it yourself, or is it a real disaster that can only be grown out? Isn’t it awful how a bad haircut can make us feel so miserable. It won’t make you feel any better, but once, many years ago, when my mum had a bad hair cut, she picked my brother up from kinder, and on the way home he kept sneaking looks at her, until he said “Mum, your hair looks funny, but I still love you…”

For all those who have photos of their bubs, I’ve been checking you all out, and I have to say that we have a marvelously gorgeous group of kids on here. I look at Liam and I can still see him as he was the day he was born, but he’s turning into such a little boy now. I love all the new things he’s doing, but kind of wish that I could slow the days down a little bit. His latest skill is blowing fart like noises from his mouth, an extension of his dribbly raspberries, he just keeps his lips shut now. Hysterical, and if I’m in another room sometimes confusing, not sure which end it is that I’m hearing….

Anyway, I’ve been on here typing for way too long. I wanted to be in bed by 9 tonight, so I could get a couple of hours sleep before someone wakes up, but that hasn’t happened obviously. thank goodness I'm just bumming around at home tomorrow, might find myself having a nanna nap in the afternoon if I'm lucky.

    Hi theree all!
Well, now that Lach has started rolling front to back and back to front.. there is no stopping him! He wont stay on his back much anymore... its crazy!!!!

Thanks Janno for your kind words. Yes I felt a new name was required as squishee is out and about now!!
    lol

I've been very very dizzy teh last 2 days, and went to the docs today. I have an inner ear infection and because im BFing, can't take anything for it. So I just have to deal with the 'feeling like I'm going to faint' feeling all the time. If it's not gone by next friday, its back for more.
My GP also mentioned that I 'may' need glasses. So, looks ike I will need to go and have this free test and see what they think.

Anyways, we find out the prognosis for MIL tomorrow. She had a bone scan yesterday and was called back today with an all clear... its only in one spot. So that's great news. She now has to have an MRI/Pet scan so fingers crossed it goes well aswell.

    Have a good night all

OOh good news so far Nicky *hugs* That's fantastic...we'll all have our fingers crossed for her!

Hi everyone! Reading and trying to keep up but this thread keeps moving so quickly!!! Hope you are all well - Jem and Mel *hugs* for doing so well by yourselves!

We're doing ok - Alessia has been more fussy lately - today not sleeping more than 1 sleep cycle after each feed, so naturally I'm exhausted and should be in bed! Nite all!

Hey everyone! Well Lucas has started waking for feeds again the last two nights so back to the beloved BB at this early hour. I can never go back to bed once I’m up, much to the frustration of DF. Hey DF, that’s cool, I almost typed DP! We got engaged last weekend!

He has been away all week though which has been yuck this time around. I enjoyed it last time, found it really relaxing for some strange reason, but this time I’ve just wanted him to come home. He gets home today but only for the weekend, then he has some meeting 5 hours away on Monday so will be away again for the night.

I gave Lucas his first taste of rice cereal on wednesday. I did some research over the last week though as he is really only 3.5months corrected, so I won’t be giving him any more until Saturday to give his gut the chance to make some enzymes needed to digest the food, just to be sure. He has been pooing like a trooper still, which is great, and I might try him on some pumpkin if I can buy an organic over the weekend.

Nicky ~ so sorry to hear about your MIL, cancer is a terrible thing and you have to put all your trust in the doctors and the treatments, which are advancing all the time.

Raels ~ sorry to hear about your own mum passing from cancer, I lost my brother Lucas this year to leukemia, when I was 10 weeks pg. I named my DS after him and he was also born on his Uncle Lucas’ birthday.

Mel ~ I only get emails notices every now and then too so its not just you!

Emma ~ How did your haircut go? Did you go the big chop? I put my tree up last weekend for Lucas as I just knew he would love the lights and coloured trinkets which he does!

Jo ~ My little merry christmas sign on the front door seemed to start a bit of a chain reaction and lights and decorations have popped up everywhere this week, especially across the road. Will you put yours up this weekend?

Well I better get going for now, but will try and get back for some more personals at some stage!

    Love August x

If anyone wnats thoughts on Cloth nappies just ask or go to the cloth nappy thread (BEWARE THEY ARE ADDICTIVE!)
I have used cloth nappies for all 3 of my kids & still find myself purchasing more, even though you can just keep using the same ones & then sell them when your done!!!
Zy has been waking again once at night for atleast 2/3wks now!!!
I spent yesterday with a friend whose just had her 3rd Daughter & having breastfeeding probs (she formula fed 1st 2 but wnats to breastfeed this one) the baby is only 6 days old & OMG so tiny compared to Zyon! I was like OMG I dont know how to hold her she's so small, yet she was bigger born than Zyon was!! LOL how quickly we forget hey!
Nicky I hope the news continues tro be good about your MIL &
Congrat's to the newly engaged August!!!!

I have not removed anything from my diet (I did stop all dairy when Zyon was suffering with Silent Reflux) but he's a normal bubba now, yet still green poo's but I have been assured it's just all normal & to not worry! Breastfed poo's can be a myriad of varieties! So I just accept that he has a different pooing style!?

Work has offered me a new role in charge of a section & I have said i will not work days so they are planningt o work around my wnats, but I also said it has to be WORTH MY WHILE, so next week they will give me the offer! Whatever they offer I;m going to ask for $10k more & see how we go! LOL If you dont ask you dont get hey!

****** I just added a pic of Zyon in a cute Beanie into my gallery!!!

    Hi girls,

wow only 25 days til christmas!!!

Sacha - Do you think she could be teething? Also, has she had her 4 month needles? If so, did this start after that?

The only thing I've noticed that gave Oliver the runs was Indian food so I've avoided that. Other than that I have only cut out caffeine and alcohol. I know that a cup of coffee or a glass of wine a day can't hurt but I just like to avoid them cause they are dehydrating and I don't want to mess with my milk supply. But! I am going to have a drink or two over christmas, which brings me to this question - how long do you have to wait before bfing after having a drink??? I think I read somewhere once that you had to wait 3 hours per standard drink.....is that right?

Nicky - great news! And I love your new username!!

August - thanks....and sorry about your brother. What a beautiful honour for your little man to be named after his uncle and wow - I have goosebumps after reading he was born on his birthday. Oh and congratulations on the engagement!!!!

Tracey - I have been on ebay this morning bidding on cloth nappies!!!! LOL. A neighbour recently gave birth to a boy and I was just like you, can't imagine Ollie being that small. Zyon is so gorgeous!!!!

We are putting our christmas tree up tomorrow - we always get a real one - makes heaps of mess but they are so beautiful. I bought the boys a stocking each, they are just plain so Lexxen and I are going to decorate his and Olivers over the weekend.

Oliver has been a bit fussy with his feeding the last few days but AF has returned so I'm thinking it's just that. This is the second time and like last time I feel like my supply has dropped a little but I am taking your advice Tracey and offerring every 2 hours.

Well I'm off to do some boring housework.

    Have a great weekend girls!!!

    Hi there girls.
    Congrats on your engagement AMM!!!

Not much happening here, MIL's appointment is right now, so fingers crossed.

I'm still very dizzy. Its very hard to focus. Stupid ear infection. lol

Does anyone elses bubs LOVE sleeping on their bellies? Lach will sleep for hours on his. Now that he can roll onto and off it, he does it all the time.
I dont let him sleep on his belly at night. I'm too chicken. But during the day when I can keep an eye on him. He's been on his belly for an hour now and hasn't stirred.

I have the rice cereal on standby in the cupboard. Have had it for a few weeks. We are going to try and sort out his constipation issues before attempting solids tho.
He has been 3 days now with no formula. His poos are back to normal too, nice and sloppy. lol

It looks like all the trouble we had with BFing is now subsiding I will def keep trying to feed him for as long as humanly possible. I now have a ray of hope that we can make it to the 12 month mark as I had initially wanted. sweet.

Anyway, hope everyone is well. Thanks for the well wishes in regards to MIL.
    Have a good day

    xxoo

p.s did everyone notice my little munchkin in my ticker now hehe

Oh well, your busy for a day or 2 and it turns into 3 pages worth to catch up on, Xavier will probably wake up before I'm finished reading it all.

Relle, nice to hear your still around, you must be busy though with all you ave planed

Floss you sound really busy too. you can tell you have been busy, your avatar is still preggo. Or are you reminiscing? What a cute little lady, oh but they won't be little for much longer.

Jem, I had seen those things too, I was waiting until he was eating, but thought it would be a great teething thing especially if putting frozen fruit in it, I wonder if my sis would like one for my niece although she is 1 now so it might not get much use. Be a good way to cool down for her.

Dani, leaving them the first time is hard, but you and he will be ok, admittedly I am yet to actually spend a whole night away from xavier, I've only done days. Happy 4 months to Oscar.

Sasha At the moment I don't mind too much if Xavier wakes up at night, although I am very fond of my sleep, Once I'm back at work however it might be a different story if I have to get up because i won't be able to have a nap when he goes down in the morning.
Xaviers poo is always quite liquid always has been. I just figured that was his normal poo, he sleeps fine, he doesn't scream at me so I figure he's fine.

Nicki, happy 4 months to lach and yay on the feeding. Clearly he was needing heaps and heaps of food over the last few weeks to reach all those milestones, the rolling, feet eating lol and the growth sounds right on target from the chart I got given. You be careful while your dizzy, sit down lots, your so far away from everything it would be horrible if you fell and hurt yourself.

Megan, fingers crossed for some pool time. Xavier is jut like that, senior cranky pants in the afternoons. latley he has been too cranky for his last feed and I've had to put him to bed early and either wake him or try a little dream feeding around 9pm.

V, I was packing up 000's the other day and it was a little sad to see some of those clothes no longer fitting. Especially his little jeans they are almost too small, and I bought them the day I found out he was a boy at 19 week scan. I think I'm going to stash those away with his hospital mementos to keep. Who would have thought a pair of jeans meant so much to me.

Em, treat yourself to the whole kit a kaboodle at the hair dresser, you will feel fantastic. Good luck with the cloth nappies. I keep thinking about it and I'm just so lazy. I will definetly keep it in mind for #2, 'cause I think by then I will want to be a full time SAHM and be a lot more comfy with our new house. I will be putting up the Christmas tree next week because I am pretty busy this weekend.

about hair, don't get it too short it hurts more when it's pulled than longer hair, and apparently it still gets pulled.

    amm, congrats on your engagement

Tracey, that's good news on the work offer, they obviously really do value you. Make them grovel get everything you can from them. When are you planning to go back?
I'm going to have to go back to the nappy thread to talk about swim nappies and poo. I think that Xaviers poo is too runny for the swim nappies.

Well I almost made it all the way through without xavier waking up. he has 2 lots of 2.5 hours sleep today already. He really is only good for 1.5 hours awake at a time. well best have some lunch and some play time. he is surprisingly strong in the arms for a baby that has spent so little time on his tummy. Well he will do anything to be able to watch the TV,

    Keep well everyone.

Well everyone, I thought I would pop in with some better news from our front.
MIL's appointment went better than expected. The oncologist has said he is 95% certain that MIl does NOT have cancer in her spine!! Thankgoodness. We dont know what the mark on her spine is, but fingers crosssed the oncologist is right. She is still to have some scans, but everything is looking soo much better.
Thanks for all of your kind words.

    Hi everyone

Well, it's official - I can't keep up with this thread, lol. I stop reading for a day or two and all of a sudden, three pages pop up.

Nicky - yay for the news about your MIL. Fingers crossed the oncologist is right.

Tracey - I love the pics of Zyon. He is sooo cute.

Mel and Jem - hope you're both doing okay at home with the kids.

Megan and Em - how did your haircuts go? I am having a bad hair life. I never do anything other than tie mine back. I don't even own a hairdryer. My hair used to be really long, but I got it cut a few weeks after Diana was born as it was getting too unmanageable.

August Moon Mum - congratulations on your engagement.

Well, nothing much to report here. Diana is still doing well. She went swimming in a swimming pool on Wednesday, and unlike the sea, she seemed to really enjoy it. She mostly sleeps through the night, but occasionally wakes once or twice. I don't mind this as like the others have mentioned, I enjoy the cuddle time with her.

I am planning to start Diana on solids in about 2 1/2 weeks when she turns 6 months. What is this Farex that everyone is talking about? Is it a brand name, or is it an actual food item? And is it necessary to give to bub? I am hoping to give her only home cooked food, rather than something out of a jar, for the first few months.

I am feeling pretty good having had the week off work. Seems to have done wonders for the pnd, which is really good. I had a job interview yesterday for a job starting next year. It sounds fantastic and I hope I get it. I hope my current boss gives me an okay reference. I am a bit worried, as because of my pnd, we did not part on the best of terms... (I said some *****y things, which I later apologised for, but still feel a bit bad about.)

I bought a small Christmas tree the other day and have started making decorations for it tonight. Hope to have it up this weekend.

Oh, and how is this for Murphy's Law - I finally got my car fixed this week. It hadn't worked for weeks. DH kept promising to fix it, but never got around to it, so I finally booked it into a garage. Tonight, I get a call from DH saying that his car broke down on the way to work. He had to leave it in town and catch the train home. Seems that we only ever have one working car at a time. Oh well, better than no car at all. Hope this one it not too expensive to fix.

Hi to everyone else. I hope to catch up on some proper personals tomorrow. Have a great weekend.
