Hi Everyone

Maybe I can get some personals in before the first night wake-up But more about that later...

Nicky - Congratulations and it sounds like you had a great honeymoon. We have been wanting to go to Tassie for ages - which part did you go to? Lachie sounds like he is an active, independent little man - could be good when you have a little one to look after too if he can get himself dressed etc. LOL

Lis - How's the hitting situation going? Is it you she hits? Have you tried just walking away from her abruptly when she does that and no more attention? It's hard at this age as they can be so frustrated with not being able to communicate properly. Autie isn't hitting but she has started crying tantrums when I don't know what she wants. How fantastic that you have a great little sleeper though! Very jealous! Does Olivia have a walker or something she can push around to encourage walking? If you can hang something at head height that she has to stand to reach it can help - maybe a balloon off a ceiling fan or something? I have a thing against the pill and mucking about with hormones so I'm not much help with that question sorry. As for feeding, Autie loves to try with a spoon and fork while I do my thing with another one to actually get stuff in LOL She is improving somewhat but nowhere near proficient.

Mel - whoohoo on your weight loss! Wish I could get motivated. Just need to be more active but you gotta have energy for that! LOL Sorry to hear you have sick bubbas - hope they are feeling better by now. How exciting to get a big bed! Will he stay in it do you think?

Jan - How much fun is trying on wedding dresses? I heard recently that some shops are charging a $500 fee just to try! Unbelievable! Surely they must be losing business. I really hope things go well for you and Liam on Friday - I would cry too. Is he good with strangers? Do you have the option to make it a short day for him (and you!)?

Em - Oh the passion of the toddler! You must grit your teeth in anticipation of each loving kiss! LOL Seriously, have you tried an over-the-top 'ouch' reaction with frowning face and saying something like 'that hurts. I don't like it' and putting him away from you and walking away? Then lots of praise for gentle kisses - 'oh, that's soooo lovely. I love that gentle kiss. Can I have another?' Yada yada yada. You get the drift. I'm probably stating the obvious, but do you have lots of distraction items handy at change time? Thing hanging above (or photos), toys, books, things he can't have at any other time like breakables or kitchen gadgets/dad's tools, a small container with something inside and a not-so-easy lid to keep hands busy. Hope you're feeling better. And I not only lose my husband to cricket, but also the backyard reno dreaming with a tape measure. Sometimes I see him at dinner time...

Sarah - that's so clever of Bayleigh to be in a big bed! How are things going with Chloe?

Megan - what are you up to with your house? Are you seeing progress that makes you excited? We don't have DLS but Autie's sleep is weird atm too. She is transitioning between one and two sleeps depending what time she gets up. If she is up before 6, she will have two naps (9ish and 2ish), otherwise just the one at about 11 then in bed around 6.30.

We have been having nightmare sleeps recently. I had her putting herself happily to sleep every nap/bedtime and sleeping 'til 4 or 5 before coming in for cuddles and more sleep until roughly 6.30. Hallelujah. Then she got sick and now it's all 'i must be rocked to sleep' (which I never did before anyway so where that came from is a mystery) and a million wake-ups a night all complete with screaming and wanting to be in our bed ALL the time. I really hope it passes soon. On the positive side, she is fascinated with 'st' words so we have 'star', 'stuck', 'stick', 'stop' all fairly recognisable while all her previous 'b' words (bot, bed, ball, bikkie) have now become just 'bee'. It's so frustrating when she seems to go backwards in her talking! Mind you, she does say 'pee' for please which is very cute. I'm rabbiting on and really quite tired so that's it for me.

Have a happy Wednesday!
