Hey Megan - would it be possible for you to arrange some mini “play dates” for Lucas to get him accustomed to other people, maybe invite a couple of friends at a time for a couple of hours, so that he gets used to having other people around? Liam isn’t great with large & noisy groups of people, but he’s okay with small numbers, especially if they’re people that are keen to see him & talk to him quietly. And I know that it’s hard to not stress about Lucas, but maybe he’s picking up on that element in you, so it might be helpful for him if you at least pretend to not be stressed by his behaviour, and praise him when he’s sitting quietly, and to talk gently to him even when he’s screaming. It’s a bit “supernanny-ish”, but even at this age I think that they respond to praise, maybe not always as quickly as we’d like, but he will get there.

Bec – I’m with you on the bike issue, it’s definitely something that Pat & I will want to do for Liam cos a bike is a big deal. It’s also pretty ambitious that your SIL is already wanting to buy him one now, although maybe flattering that she thinks he’s that strong & co-ordinated at 3 months!

Em – I had the same thought about the Bindeez products, that by advertising the fact that it turned into a drug, there might be a rush on buying them before they were all recalled. I feel for those parents who had kids wanting them for Christmas, not only do they get disappointment, but they also have to find an alternative present.

Well, we've had a pretty good day. I had to get into the city to pick up some tickets that I bought for the Crowded House concert on Friday, so Liam & I drove to Sth Melbourne, then walked into the casino to the ticketek outlet. On the way we had to stop for a feed, so we sat in a park for a little while, then back into the pram. It was a bit confronting being on my own in the open & having to feed, but it had to be done, and I don't think I was sprung by anyone, which is good. I'm looking forward to the concert, but it feels a little bit too early to be leaving Liam with a babysitter, even though she's a friend of the family & is gorgeous & trustworthy. But I'm going to tell myself to get on with it & enjoy the show, because he'll be fine & they are one of my all time fav bands, and it's probably the last time I'll get to see them live.
