Welcome Heidi. Channing sure is a biggun.

It's been very quiet in here.

I've been MIA as we've all been sick. Started out with my DstepD on Sat night going hot and cold and going off her food (she's NEVER off her food so we knew something was up). We were staying at my Mum and Dad's that night and my Dad got food poisoning from some kabana he ate so we made a hasty retreat home the next morning. By Monday morning DF was sick, by Monday afternoon I was. Some coldy kind of virus going around. DF spent most of Monday night coughing and throwing up. He's had the week off work. By Tuesday night I was feverish and full of a cold symptoms, I came out in a rash which is itching like crazy. We were both on the mend yesterday and today we both feel human.

It was soooooooo hard to get up to Brock for feeds and he has started to wake in the middle of the night again. DF ended up with a chest and throat infection so the doctor told him to stay away from the baby. He forgot to mention that I was also sick so of course I got left with all the baby duties even though I was contagious as well - I'm just not a smoker so I don't get as sick (he is a smoker and gets ridiculously sick every time he gets a cold). You know what men are like when they are sick..... I had two babies to look after.

Tuesday night Brock got the runs in the middle of the night.... that was fun. Wednesday night I got the runs.... even more fun. It struck whilst I was in the middle of doing a nappy change. I had to place him on a wrap on the floor with just his singlet on whilst I dashed to the loo. I talked to him from the loo to keep him calm whilst I sat there and then finished him off soon after. Back to the bedroom and DF didn't have a clue what had just happened and then I was off to the loo again. Our house is just germ city at the moment.

Brock started to sneeze and cough yesterday and is doing a heap of it today so I'm hoping he's not going to get too bad. His temp has been a little high, but not overly but I got some baby panadol today just in case we need it in the middle of the night. He has the cutest little cough, but he's doing it way too much for my liking. He did sleep through the night last night (10pm til 7am so it's a record).

He's had a nasty case of cradle cap for a couple of weeks. It started on his eyebrows and ended up all over one of his eyelids as well as his scalp. We finally seem to have it under control. It's not all gone yet though, it's just looking a whole lot better.

On a good note, he's steadily putting on weight and is now 5kgs. Forget how much he grew but he is a bit taller.

Better go, Brock is letting me know loud and clear he's overdue for a feed (his fault, he overslept). I'm hoping for a nice healthy weekend for all of us, don't know if there's much of a chance of that.

Brock was due for 2 month injections today but doc wouldn't do them as he had a slight temp (he still has the cold). So it's back on Friday to try again.

Sorry ladies, I'm still around. Actually I haven't visited here for a couple of weeks

Everything is going well, Josie is very alert and overall a happy baby. Infants Friend has really helped with the belly aches, although she still gets them.

Here's a pic I took of her today:

Hi all! I have been MIA also! It's been so long since I have been online that I can't even remember what I wrote in my last post! I do remember rabbitting on about my PEAD visit and since than alot has happened. I ended up with a terrible case of mastitis (sp?) not sure if it was a result of all the travelling we had been doing and not being able to express at regular intervals throughout the day but by the time night fell my b**bs would be ready to explode and pumping was painful! I was also waking up to pump twice a night to try and relieve the soreness while Coop slept through to 7am.. finally got the better of me this past Monday morning as I sat in the bottom of the shower crying thinking it shouldn't be this stressful so now I have a FF bubby who is just as content as he was whilst being BF - only have to deal with a crushed mummy ego! He put on 900g in a week and half as a result of monitoring (sp?) his EBM intake considering he had barely bout on 300g in the six weeks prior we were stoked! But a bubby needs a happy mummy and painful pumping was creating the total opposite! So anywho all is good now in our household! Coop is weighing in at a 6.15kg and measuring 65cm he is gunna be a tall, tall boy! He is a such a cruisey, happy bub - feeds, plays, sleeps, feeds, plays, sleeps! Wakes up smiling and giggling! He is extremely strong - sitting up in his bumbo and scarily when he is having tummy time, he rolls onto his side and also is trying his best to become mobile... EEKK! I dont have nearly enough posts to add photos to the gallery but so want to share my pics, they are on facebook so if anyone wants a gander I am more than willing to share just request and I will add you! Will attempt personals next time!

Cool say hello to my li'l fella

hi all the june mummies out there! I only just noticed today about the baby buddies forum! i've been a member for quite a few weeks now so you'de think i would've noticed earlier... yeah right
i only JUST scrape into this group too, Ashton was born on June 16 at 12:51am, weighing in at 4.5kg (almost 10lbs) and 56cm! so he looked a month old when he was born! i had an epidural so thankfully i didn't feel anything!
now he's 9 weeks old and weighed him a week ago and he was 7.05kg and 64cm! so he's a BIG baby! but oh so cute! such chubby cheeks and a little pot belly, looks like a li'l frog!
ash is doing pretty well, last night he slept from 10pm to 6.30am and the night before from 7.30pm to 4.30am!! so i'm hoping its the start of a trend! he went down at 8.30 tonight so crossing my fingers that he wont wake up till 5am

also, i'm having a few problems getting him to sleep during the day, is anyone else getting this?? usually he'll wake up early morning and then go back to sleep until late morning, but from then on he just will not sleep, i can see that he's tired so i give him some bottle to make him drowsy and he'll fall asleep while he's feeding and i'll put him down and he'll be awake in 5 minutes, or he'll have a half hour nap ... does anyone have any suggestions on how i could get him to sleep a bit longer in the arvo?
its driving me nuts! i cant get anything done!

    Welcome Melissa!

The only thing I can think of is keeping him as awake as you can in the morning so that he's so tired and passes out! hahaha...
You ladies are so lucky if your bubbas are sleeping through. For the last two days I've fed her twice, but three nights ago I was feeding her every two hours!!

    Post

DS slept from 8.30pm - 4am last night! woohoo! 3 times in a row sleeping through!

serendipity - i've tried that! all he does is get really really cranky, then i'll give him some bottle and he'll be happy again, smiling and playing for another half hour... then he'll get cranky again, so i give him some more bottle, another half an hour, CRANKY AGAIN! so yes thats the pattern he forms if he doesn't get enough sleep...

speaking of sleeping, he's actually asleep now! i've got him in his bouncer in the lounge with me with the tv on, he's been asleep for an hour! i hope this isnt a one-off...

btw DS is a very big baby, he's been holding his head up since 2 weeks old, he can lift himself onto his arms when he's on his belly(not for long tho but still...), he's starting to show signs of voluntary hand movement... and i think he only sleeps through now because he's on formula... if i was breastfeeding him he would still wake up every few hours during the night i guarrantee it!

for the sleeping babies! Isn't it bliss! needles are horrible.. Cooper had no dramas but I did! I cried, he didn't say boo! Hopefully next time round I will be better prepared!

Melissa and Ashton - love his name! WOW he is a big bubby! I thought Coop was big but Ashton takes the cake! IKWYM about giving birth to someone who looks alot older than he really is! Sounds like he is reaching similar milestones to my lil fella - I was washing bottles yesterday afternoon and he was in rocker and next thing i hear the pull toy 'singing' so he is starting to get some voluntary hand movement also! It was so exciting but this morning he has done several times and I can see myself getting sick of the 'song' in a few weeks time LOL

Coop is a pretty good sleeper but on the odd occassion when he won't go down during the day I just but him in my hug-a-bub and he is snoozing in a matter of minutes! We've hung washing out together, cooked dinner and even vachumed and mopped! Cost a lttle of $100 i think but it's so handy! Be easy to make one yourself, all it is is one long piece of material but honestly who could be bothered!

Did you survive the jabs xxSerendipityxx?

    Hi all!

I'm jealous of the sleeping thru bubs!! Are any of these bubs BF?? I'm still feeding Flynn so maybe that is why he doesn't sleep thru yet? Although, once a night isn't too bad. He's fed and back asleep in 20 mins, so can't really complain. Can't wait til he is sleeping thru though *sigh*

He's doing really well. Can lift himself when on tummy time and has almost rolled over. If he's anything like his brother he will take his time! His sister on the other hand did everything extremely early. We will see with Flynn!!

Well must go and get the other two. My peace is shattered!!!

Take care! Welcome to the new mums & bubs!!

My bubba hates tummy time by herself. She'll do it if she's on my chest.

Josie is asleep now after her needles. She screamed soooo loudly, for about ten minutes after the shots. I cried my eyes out when they were being done. I was offered some jelly beans to make me feel better

She hasn't developed any symptoms yet. Thankfully no fever as yet. Not sure how long it would take to come in?

Mel - I might try the numbing cream next time, didn't even think of that. Thanks
