Hey heyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Sorry been MIA - I don't know, just want to do too many things and really only have time for a few
Teepee2 - oh love, that sucks, completely and utterly!I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. Am thinking of you sweety
you're right too......life is just so short and sometimes we forget until something like this happens. Wish I had something profound to say but all I can do is send you cyber hugs love. xx
I have managed to read through all the posts - lots! Again though, want to say thanks for the honesty of you all..............just don't realise how important it is to be reminded that you don't have to be super, invincible mummy all the time. Its ok to be human *shock horror*
DD#2 has just learnt to pull herself up onto her feet using the lounge, DH or me. All very cute except she bites for extra grip - ok if its the lounge!! Ouchy! Actually, she is into biting everything.... everything!! I did do a firm voice with her and tell her no, don't bite mummy to which she responded with the funniest, fake "eh eh" cry/complaint. Kinda like she was saying, "don't talk like that mummy, I don't like it. Don't tell me off, I'm too cute to tell off"
Hope all those with sleeping challenges are going well though. I don't know if what we did would be considered controlled crying? Maybe it would be, I don't know but once we'd checked everything with DD#2 (ie hot/cold, wind, nappy, hunger etc etc) if she still persisted with crying I would leave her for 5 even 10minutes. However, she wouldn't be screaming the house down. If the cry was completely full on even after 5 minutes I'd go back in, do all the checks again and give her a big cuddle and whisper in her ear and gently, 'shhhhhh shhhhh' etc. Its so hard because there are so many things to take into consideration and like Dragonstorm said, once you think you've got it perfected the little moochies go and mix it all up again!DD has been sleeping through for quite a while now but every now and then she'll still mess up my schedule, hehehe

For me however, I have to let her cry sometimes because I don't have the minute to deal with her as I'm attending to DD#1. When it was just DD#1, she had all the time with no distractions but I guess thats just the nature of having more little sausages.....more and more they've got to gel with what's going on and the first has to start to share mummy and daddy............
gosh! Everything is just so easy in theory isn't it?!?!
Re: not being cuddly........DD#1 was so like that! I actually scrapbooked a pagewhere she was cuddling into me - DH took the pic at the time because it was such a rare thing! Now, she just wants snuggles all the time but so does DD#2! Thank goodness they can have a leg each!
DD#2 does push me away though when she's near the end of her top up feed for the night. Its funny because she takes herself off so I sit her up for a burp and then she gets all worked up and pushes and arches etc until I put her back on. The next time she comes off she's usually as happy as larry and will coo and natter to me for a minute, then pop her thumb in and snuggle in - too cute!
I still marvel at how 2 cherubs can be so different even though they have the same parents!
Oh Celsie!! Want to give you huge hugs too lovey!!
How is Caeleb's feeding and sleeping? I know you don't believe in controlled crying and so am not suggesting you do that but can I encourage you that you won't break your little man's spirit?? You're too much of a precious loving mummy to do that xx I hope you find a way that works for you all lovey. Can I also encourage you too that our little ones are big enough to be becoming well aware of their little world? They are smart little tykes and actually pick up what reaction gets what response......DD#2 already recognises my gentle yet firm, "don't bite" and will stop just before she's about to eat me! I am not saying to let a bubby cry hysterically or anything like that because even I wouldn't do that - but tears are ok? Sometimes they are just part and parcel of them learning new skills?
Sorry, probably a bit woffly and just sharing my thoughts xx Just wanted to encourage you that you are a great and fab mummy and because of that, you will find the right way for Caeleb xx
Well, sorry bout the essay/novel here................will try not to be so tardy on my 'popping in' to say hi and see how all you lovlies are going. Hope everyone else is doing really well and being inundated with precious memories!!
Mwa!!
P.S. Oh and thanks heaps Debbie!! You got my brain whirling with ideas for DD#2's 1st birthday invites/party!! Hehe xx
P.P.S. Welcome Laura!! Lovely to meet you!
