Hi everyone! I have been trying to post for about 4 days now! Sam has been a bit of a monster and is hardly napping during the day. It's been fairly quiet on here which is good because I'm less likely to get confused trying to reply.
My Hypnosis went well, she didn't put anything in about the smoking the first time because she wanted to see how easily I was out in a trance.Very easily it turns out.It was so strange,I knew she was talking but couldn't really concentrate on what she was saying,I was seeing all these colors behind my eyes.Going again on Friday so I'll keep you posted.
I had a rough day Monday, emotionally. I was feeling very isolated and lonely.I didn't know what to do with myself so I just kept pacing the house. That has been the only day I have felt bad though over the last week and a half.So I am getting a lot better.

Mel - I wish I had a magic word that could get you some sleep. You must be so exhausted.I hope it continues to get better for you, even though it's such a small step at least it's a start.Have been thinking of you and glad to hear from you.

Catherine - how are you? and how is the beautiful Flynn?

njd - Thanks for the email, Dusty is a Little cutie.I am hoping that I get a chance today to send photos of Sam off to everyone.

Reenie - Stalker?? WTF??? Send me the email you sent out if you still have it stored.I am very curious.

andiE - Have a wonderful trip,i am so totally jealous of you!

All-boys - must be good to have your house back! What is a merina? Does that make me really dumb not to know??

To everyone else I have missed I hope you are all well!

Wow, that post took me 2 hour in between tending to Sam!

    Hi Ladies,
    whew where to start...

Laura, I can't wait to see pics of your little man, Dusty & I love looking at them - I just can't get him to shut up when I do . It's good to hear the hynotherapy is going well, can't wait to here how you go tomorrow?? Good to hear that you have been having mainly good days SO PLEASE feel free to PM or e-mail me anytime, I am home most days with the computer on so if you are having one of those days I understand what lonliness & isolation can feel like especially with just a bub for company.

I love all the pics please keep them coming, JIC I have forgotton to mention CM Flynn is georgous (I wanted to say beautiful but DP doesn't like me calling Dusty beautiful because apparently only girls are beautiful )

Mel: I forgot to add about the sleeping thing while it is mostly better through the day, the other night he did wake every 2 hrs to feed but most nights he sleeps 3 hrly, now if only I didn't fall asleep while feeding him Speaking of which for those who b/f here how do you not fall asleep at the 1am/3am feeds?? I am finding it a real stuggle to stay awake!!

Well the community nurse has started the ball rolling with his sleep & have referred me to Trisillian (sp?) so hopefully they can help. I only weighed Dusty because I was worried over the last couple weeks that he hadn't been putting on weight but as they community nurse said because he is a lot more active, ie kicking his legs & wriggling all over the place so he won't be putting on so much weight & everything is fine.

Jo, Damn childcare & it's germs but at least you are building up everyone immune system, hope your feeling well soon. GL with toilet training Riley. My sisters little boy would pee in the toilet o.k but always asked for a nappy until he was at least 4 or 5, he refused to poo in the toilet, don't know what it was & she tried everything so best of luck with that. You (& all the mums with more than 1 littlin) so need a medal, I truly don't know how I would cope at the moment with a toddler running around but I have to admit the photos of Riley & Isabella are supercute !! About the weight thing - how active is she now? does she seem happy cause I'm with Mel, IMO while she does seems tiny from the photos but she also seems really healthy & happy. Good to hear that hubby is o.k, my dad did interstate too & it really sucked but this doesn't have to be long term & it will end someday How did things go at the specialist with Riley??

Dusty has almost rolled completely over, cheeky little bugger & he is CHEWING on everything, I think he might be teething, does anyone else have any signs of teeth?
Well as it is after midnight I should be heading to bed now bye

    Hi gals,

Well, Cam and I are back from our few days away up the Sunny Coast. Had a great time, was nice to get out of the house for a few days and go for walks along the beach. I think young Cammie got a bit too used to the attention though cos I had a shocking day with him yesterday - he bawled every time I was out of sight. He's better today, although my parents arrived today for a few days at our place before they continue their caravan holiday.

Cam's been a bit out of sorts on and off during the past week. I presume it was mostly to do with a different environment, sleeping in a portacot etc. While we were away he screamed the house (well, caravan) down each night at bedtime (around 8pm). And he didn't poo for days - he finally did a small one earlier this arvo - his first in 5 days. But gee, can't wait for him to do a "drought breaker" .

He's also spewing heaps during and after his feeds. Question for you all ... when your bub spews, what's it look like? When Cam spews during or straight after a feed, it's a really gluggy looking spew (almost snotty looking, iykwim). When he spews 90-120 mins AFTER a feed, it's clear with milkier looking bits through it. Anyway, it's mainly the gluggy looking spew I'm interested in ... does this sound fairly normal ?

Ah, he's now sitting on my lap after a bit of a "come and pay me some attention" cry. So, I'd better wrap up quickly.

Mel - good to hear things are going a little better for you/James. How is his sleeping now? I don't like hearing Cam cry for long either, but I'm afraid sometimes it's unavoidable (thankfully it's rare). Don't be hard on yourself though ... you don't sound cruel at all. Particularly when you've tried just about everything else to help James sleep.

Laurab - - we all have our odd bad days, and they're hard enough to get through without going through PND. Please come and "talk" to us if it helps. I reckon most of us lurk in this thread, even if we're not always posting. In other words ... we're not far away if you need us. How is Sam now? Glad to hear hypnosis is going well - good on you for giving it a go.

Nic - I'm hearing you on the chewing! Cam likes to test things with his mouth too. Hope tresillian is of assistance to you and Dusty. No sign of teeth with Cam. Guess it's just a matter of time though.

Hi to everyone else. It's a gorgeous day here in Brissie ... hope there's a little sunshine in your part of the world too.

    Have a great weekend.

    Hi Girls
Just a quick post. Riley has to have grommets put in on August 22nd. He has fluid behind his ear drum. We spent 3 hours at the specialist yesterday and we saw the doctor for a whole 10 mins . Lucky I didn't get a parking ticket as I was parked in a 2 hour carpark
    Will post again soon
    Take Care

    Hi Guys,
I just typed up a whole email and pictures of Sam to email all of you only to realise I have accidentally deleted all of your email addresses. Can someone email or pm them to me?
Well, I had my other session of hypnosis today. It went well. It's been 6 hours so far.I know it's not long but it's a start.I have thrown out everything to do with cigarettes.

Nic, Sam has been chewing on everything over the last few weeks and in the last few days he has been extra sooky with red cheeks. It looks like teething to me but being a first timer, I really have no idea!

Andie, Sounds like you had a nice time apart from Cam crying at night. He must have loved all the attention!

Jo,How annoying for you! Lucky about the ticket, I would have made them pay if you got one.

Thank you guys for your kind words.Means a lot to know that I can come online when I'm not feeling the best and have people listen

    Have a great weekend everyone!
    Luv Laura

    Talking

Welcome to another Friday night with babies....

Well tonight is Pizza night in our household cause we all had a big sleep this afternoon so the washing up isn't done & there will be no cooking here either.

Andie, it is good to hear your few days away were nice, not so nice about the crying though. Those drought-breaking poos are the best I think I would rather more regular poos then saving it up like they can do. In terms of the spewing it sounds normal & just like Dusty to me. Like you said if it is just after a feed the spew is thick & mucusy if it's been awhile then it is like water with chunkier bits.... lovely...

Dusty has been a lot clinger than normal too (although ironically not when I am putting him to sleep - go figure), he cries even if I leave the room for a minute which isn't really like him. Laura said that Sam had been extra sooky too & I think I read somewhere it could be the age/developmental that they get clingy at 4 mnths - Is anyone else experiencing the same thing??

I have had some success with the sleeping thing, it seems I can leave him in the cradle when I put him down as he has discovered his voice & likes to chat for a while. He must get bored after 5 mins are he starts to cry again but then I go in & rock the cradle & he goes off to sleep so while I am still rocking the cradle it isn't as much so we are making progress

Jo, I'm glad you didn't get a ticket, damn specialist are always late which seems strange when they only seem to spend 5 mins with you I know it must seem scary that Riley has to have an operation for grommets especially as he is so young , my nephew (7 yrs) had grommets put in this year & he is hearing much better so it should help with Riley's speech - we thought the little bugger was just ignorant sometimes when he wouldn't respond to us but it turned out it was like he was living in a tunnell, poor kid.

Andie I am jealous of your weather, today was a typical bathurst winter day, rainy, windy & very, very cold, tomorrow (or today now) isn't looking much better, you can send some sunshine this way.

Laura, stay strong with those ciggies I know you can give them up !! I have e-mailed the list of e-mail addresses I have...

Becstar, my sisters name is Rebecca **ABSOLUTE BESTEST SISTER IN THE WORLD** so I can tell sharing her name that we will get along I have been reading about your relacting efforts so can't wait to get an update & welcome back

    How is everyone else going??

well if is after midnight again time for bed for this little chickadee

    Hi all

Laurab - I lurk often but often don't post or run out of time. You can email me and I try to check it a few times a day bt sometimes it doesn't happen. Do you have MSN? I would be happy to give you my address for that if you would like. Am usually logged in even if not at the computer. Glad to hear your 'down' days are getting less.

Ewol- poor riley. At least he will hopefully feel heaps better after he has the grommets. It is a fairly 'quick' procedure though I am sure it will feel like hours for you. I loved the photos, so beautiful.

Bec- Welcome back. How are the outlaws? How long are they staying this time?

Mel - How is your foot? And Everything. I think of you often. Thanks for asking about us. Will put details below. How is the 'getting tough' working?

njd - yumm pizza. Sometimes you need to sleep and if the washing/food prep doesn't get done. I am sure your partner/hubby would rather you be happy than those things done. I know mny DH does, as I am a right biatch when I am tired. Which is all the time. He keeps trying to make me sleep - just because the circles under my eyes look like he has punched me. Don't worry it's just tiredness.

Andie - glad you had a good time away. Uh oh I hope you have a good nappy on him. and plenty of wipes on hand.

Lots has been happening here. I had a bad few nights with E - waking every 2-4hours and not settling plus on monday night we had one of those sessions where he just screamed for hours. HE had had his immunisations that day and I had given him regular panadol, no real temp, we didn't check it as it woudl have inaccurate due to his crying making him hot. On Tues/wed he didn't seem to want to feed that well either. On tuesday after waking up totally exhausted I decided it was time to stop rocking E to sleep. Plus every time I would put him down he would wake. I don't believe in letting him cry too long without me there so I put him in his cot and the first few times were bad, when he got too upset i would pick him up and he would calm down (sometimes it took a bit) and go to sleep. I would either put him down when he was almost asleep or when he was asleep. Unlike when I was rocking him he hardly stirred, or was mostly easily settled and he would sleep for an hour or longer, sometimes less.

Yesterday afternoon we had a major breakthrough, after a bad morning where he just squealed and was very unhappy I laid him in his cot (wrapped with dummy and music on) and left him for a bit. I didn't hear him for ages so I finally thought I have to check and he was ASLEEP!!!! MAjor breakthrough. He also slept for about an hour 45 when I woke him. I am finding it I will leave him and he may sing and kick the covers off, I keep putting them back on. If he isn't asleep within 15-20
mins I get him up again as long as he is happy playing on the floor no dummy until he is grizzly again and try again. So far it has worked. I am hoping it will last. He seems to sleep much better when he self settles.

I have also discovered why he may have been out of sorts - not just immunisations. We have a tooth coming through. The day carer I went to see on thurs thought he was teething - fingers in mouth, drool +++ things that I also assumed were developmental. I had seen some lumps on his gums but they weren't in the right spot, so thought they were just 'moving'. I decided to rub some bonjela on his gums, just in case, and lo and behold I felt something sharp. You can just see it - sort of clear rectangle that seems to be coming out more each day. I have heard that they can disappear, I really hope this one doesn't but I think it is through? It is so hard to get a good look.

Anyway that is all my news, I am feeling much less tired after E slept from 8, woke at 1030 for a feed, easily resettled then woke again at 415 then again at 730!!!! Woo, I better not get used to it though.

    HAve a great weekend

    hi girls,

just a quick one from me, James has turned bad with his sleeping patterns again, im completely exhausted but anyway i just wanted to let you girls having sleeping problems know of something i discovered...im not sure if you are allowed to put web page links in here so i wont but if you google "messenger mums" you will come to a page set up by tresillian, where you can add the tresillian nurse to your msn list (i assume they are there 24 hours a day - they are showing online at the moment) so anytime you need some advice you can just start up a chat with them, might come in handy for all sorts on things

Sounds like you are all having issues with sleeping....we are too. They all must be going through a growth spurt. Cohen seems to be less settled aswell. I hope it doesn't last much longer.

Cohen is rolling like MAD now!!! Everytime I put him down to change him he is rolling over right away. He is also showing signs of attempting to crawl. He pushes his legs on the floor to thrust himself foward and uses his hands to pull along...not long now and I'll have my work cut out for me I'm sure!!
Have to scoot...gotta go to bed. Hope your all well....hugs to your gorgeous babies!!!!

hi ladies how is everyone? So pleased (sorry ) that everyone seems to be having the sleeping or lack of I should say issues. I thought perhaps it was the fact I had been on antibiotics but no its not. Scout just doesnt seem to want to sleep anymore.
I have a very good friend from NZ visiting at the moment which has been great to catch up with her. We went to Australia Zoo on Monday and I think Scout slept for perhaps an hour all day. He was happy though taking it all in and seeing all the sites so I wasnt too worried about it but my god did he lose the plot on the way home. We live a good hour 20 from the zoo and he screamed the entire way home, he was so overtired. I thought he would wear himself out but the stubborn bugger didnt. I have never been so happy to pull into our driveway!
Oh well it cant last. Thats what I keep telling myself anyway.

Speak of the devil, he who shall rule the roost has had his 20min catnap, so I best go get him

Goodnight my fellow sleep deprived Mothers

    Hi Everyone.
Last night was the first time in a LONG time that I got more than 3 hrs sleep in a row. I got 5hrs in a row!!! Very exciting! Hopefully tonight is the same
I was very excited this morning! Flynn was having some tummy time and I went into the kitchen to get some breakfast. When I came back in to him he was on his back playing with his feet!! I was a bit disappointed that I didn't actually see it but he rolled over! He hasn't repeated the trick yet...maybe tomorrow!
I've been having a hard time feeding Flynn lately. He is coming on and off and and on and off...Argh! It's driving me nuts. Hopefully it's just a faze and will pass soon.
Sorry I don't have time for personals.
    Hope you are all well!

    Hi Ladies!

I'm sorry, I haven't done my homework and caught up on what's what.....I've been very lazy. Still got the outlaws here, they head home tomorrow and are taking Ben and Clo with them and then we'll follow later when DH gets home. So we are heading up to their place for the weekend while we still have some tax $$ to catch up with friends. I can't wait as I have a friend I chat to every week there and I love to actually SEE her. So next week when things are more settled I promise to get back into the swing of things.

In baby news, Jake learnt to roll from back to front last Saturday and is now at it constantly. So exciting but makes me so sad still.....where is my baby going?? Growing too fast. On the BF front things are going well. Down to 100ml top ups but he can go with out them a lot. I was naughty today and forgot to give him one at his 11am feed and then when he was doing well without it I also skipped his 3pm top up. He wasn't bothered at all, but i think I need to just reduce them slowly, rather than going for the chop!!! It's so tempting though, I just wanna get rid of them!

I've been missing you all terribly (luckily Mel has been keeping me informed and sane!) and can't wait to get to know the newbies! I'm not usually this scatty....I promise!

Off to do the dreaded top up bottles and tidy up for tomorrow. Hope you all have a good weekend and give those gorgeous plump cheeks a big kiss for me ( I LOVE smooching Jakes chops! lol).

Welcome to Sunday morning with a baby! i have been up since 4am when Sam decided to wake for an hour then go back to sleep, thing is I'm now totally awake!

Oh he has been so bad! I really hope this is a faze.He has been waking 5 - 6 times a night, sometimes more for the last 2 weeks.
He goes down very easily at night but just wont stay down.During the day it's a whole different story! HE WILL NOT GO DOWN! every time I try he screams and screams, he wont eat before going to sleep, or take the dummy.Nothing seems to help.
I have tried everything, Stretching out his feed so he is extra hungry, stretching out the time he is awake to make him extra tired, letting him fall asleep on me then putting him down,it just doesn't work.I know he is tired though, He was falling asleep in the Jolly Jumper on Friday, and the second I tried to take him out , Screams!
I'm out of ideas. I'm worried I'm not making enough milk anymore. He had his 4 month check up last week and was 8.8 Kg and 68.5 Cm, I wonder if my milk can sustain such a big boy.ahh I don't know.
Dh is very annoying about it too.Yesterday when we were driving Sam was crying for about 5 minutes then fell asleep.DH now thinks that if we let him cry for a couple on minutes he will just fall asleep,he doesn't seem to realise that being in the car is what got him to sleep.
On the plus side I'm coping pretty well with it all.A month ago I would have been crying along with him.
Better go, the Big Man is waking again!
Hope everyones weekends have been a little better than mine.

    Hi all,

Been a while since I've posted (although I typed a post here the other day which was lost just as I was about to submit ... looked like the internet gremlins got to the BB site).

Anyway, I won't do personals tonight (... I will later in the week) but just wanted to say welcome back to Bec, send a dozen to Mel and a few to Laura too.

We had a moment during the week ... Cam rolled for the first time (luckily nanna and poppy were around to see it, cos mummy certainly wasn't!). He FINALLY rolled from his back to his front. Actually, I was pleased my parents were there to see it as they head back down to Tassie on Tuesday after 5 weeks caravaning near us and/or staying with us. It's nice they were there for one of Cam's "milestone moments".

All's well in our neck of the woods. Cam and I had a lovely time on the Sunshine Coast with my parents. Will have more time to jump online later in the week.

    Cheers, Andie xx
