    Hi all,

I'm the opposite to Danni. I tend to read all the posts and then not post coz I run out of time.

Please don't hate me for making this comment and this is not a judgement on ANYBODIES choice but I wanted to say that children are perfectly well socialised even if they don't go to childcare. Talking to new mum's there seems to be a pressure to send your child to daycare for one or two days a week so they can be socialised (Children need to go for many other reasons and this is not a comment on those). Our children are socialised everytime they see us interact with someone. We are the ones who teach our children how to treat other people and how to react to other peoples treatment of us. There are plenty of activities (swimming, gymbaroo, playgroup, etc) that are great for a child's development. This isn't a comment on whether to send your child to childcare or not but just see it as becoming the norm and people thinking they have to send their children.

Glad to see those JJ are working out for you. It certainly helped me stay sane wtih DD. Paddy is still happy to be on the floor most of the time. Having said that he is moving into his manic phase to let me know he's had enough and ready for bed. Fingers crossed he'll sleep longer than 40 mins.

I agree. Jaz went to pre school the first time at 2 for a few months. Then went a little while again at 3 for about 6 months. That was it til school.
Even before she started I used to have comments about how socialised she was. She was & still is a friendly, open & outgoing child.
Bri has only just started day care once a week this year. But she's never really had any social issues.

The only reason I put them into pre school & day care is really for more interaction with other kids their age. & for a bit of fun for them. Jaz is the oldest out of all our friends kids.
Jaz is actually the main reason we moved to where we are at the moment. There were only 12 kids at the school she was at & the only 2 girls close to her age were 2 years older than her. I wanted her around kids her age. The ones she was more friends with were 10 & 11 & talking about boys & stuff.

Children are socialised every time they are spoken to. By us, our friends, the lady at the corner shop. It's more having kids around their age that I worry about when they are older. I wanted Jaz to act & play with other 6 year olds, other wise she wouldn't know how to just be 6. iykwim?

Fair comments. I don't have anything else to compare to. I just know that I've noticed a difference in Jazz since starting daycare. It may just be a coincidence.

Just a quick one -so tired and sore....

We ended up doing 33km because a big storm was coming and it ended up hailing snow!!!! Well it was all ice and vey cold but on the car, roads and paths it hailed so much it looked like snow anyway...... so we had to stop, i couldn't do anymore anyway. My knee joints were stuffing up, toes were sore and my asthma was playing up.... I never have to use asthma puffer at all, and I have one, and today I thought I better get new prescription for replacements because I was wheezing when breathing.....

Had bath, now red wine to relax so I can sleep well tonight.

Sorry I can't do personals, too exhausted.....mentally and physically

Same here teach sometimes i read all the posts and then no time for posting myself or not enough time for personals.

Summy is sick she was gasping for air and choking during the night, poor little chicken the other girls aren't well either and i have a bit of it too plus i have done something to my neck.

Summer is yelling and squeeling at the moment its very cute but LOUD!!

Skye Summer quite happily nods off in our room even if i am in the room doing stuff so if and when we move it will be interesting to see if she wants or lets us move her into her own room.

Shell, wow thats a long walk i went to the horses and within 15 mins it was hailing and i was in the middle of the paddock getting smacked in the head with ice and it going down my jumper was not fun.

Hope every one else is good..... Gotta go get girls ready for school it's so miserable here and one is still in bed... Might be back later

Thanks girls, feeling very sore today - hard to get up and get down again.....

Prama/Bron - yeah it is a new pic of DJ in my ticker.....bron - the photo should be on the left of the ticker. Tried to upload new photos but I think they have changed things around on site, can't find where to upload new photos anymore...

Trina - oh no hope Summer feels better, it is sooo cold at the moment and on the neck thing I did the same thing on Friday and was in so much pain could hardly move..... And that hail was freezing ice.... We had to run from one car to another and we got into car freezing, like we were at the snow!!!

Sorry for a short post, my body is just so sore and want to rest.

    Shell xx

Just uploaded some new pics of DJ, they were all taken in the last few weeks Will try to upload more.....

How is everyone today? I am ok, feeling a bit down and unmotivated, think it is just from the big walk..... Also stressing that I will get my period this week.... My belly is so bloated and it was like this when I was pregnant with DJ so I have been stressing a bit today..... I think I would end up with pre and post natal depression if I was pregnant again.....

    First of all
India & Shell, you guys posted at the exact time 24 hours apart. I thought that was interesting.

I put a couple more pics of Jesse in my gallery a few weeks ago. I have more, but they are in my phone & its away getting fixed. I've got a loan phone, but I can't work out how to get into the memory & sim cards.

Poor Jesse fell out of our bed this morning. He's lucky we don't have a bed yet & are still on a mattress on the floor! He's not having a very good run. Bri tried to take his temp yesterday & stuck the thermometer down his throat!

We hardly got any sleep last night. Ended up putting him in bed with us coz he just wouldn't sleep properly. He wanted the boob, but wasn't hungry. He just wanted it in his mouth. I really hope he's a bit happier tonight. I was tempted to keep Jaz home from school so I didn't have to wake up this morning, but I had to. Oh well.

He's getting really strong in the back. If I sit him up he can sit for a while. I'll try to upload the pics of him doing it tonight - need Anthony's phone.

He's rolling & moving around on the floor alot more. That's how he came off the bed - rolled over the wrong way & wriggled around too much.

Anyways, I need to go to the loo, so I'll check in again a bit later.

    hi girls,

sorry bubs are sick, it sux!!

it'll be a short post, had a long day yesterday, not so good physically and mentally.

poopy's sleeping habits are changing and he's starting to wake up in the middle fo the night.

day care - if we lived in malaysia i wouldnt worry about sendign him to day care for his social skills, cos he has hundreds of grandaunts/uncles, aunts/uncles, cousins, second cousins, 'nieces/nephews'
he'll be with them so often he'll be fine. but in syd, there's jsut teh 3 of us, and steve's mum close by. a few friends we see on and off. so we believe he needs to be around more people and kids. that's what makes me sad about being in syd.

anyway - we teach poopy to call me amma which is tamil for mother and steve hasnt decided what he wants to be called, dada/daddy/appa(tamil for father) so we jokingly call him appa till he decides. yesterday steve spoke to poopy on the fone, as usual he ahs a big smile then tried to eat the phone. i hung up and then picked poopy up and he said 'appa!' i repeated and he gave me a huge gummy smile!
we also fed him his first meal yesterday, rice/lentils and dot of butter. he looked funy when he tasted it but he ate up 2 tiny servings of a teaspoon.

hope all bubs get better. sorry tghis is a me post..
    shell hope you feel better

Oh, I forgot to mention the small fact that my washing macine broke down !!
It started washing last night & I didn't pay much attention. I went to get the clothes out & it was still full. I think the pump broke down.
Good excuse to get a new one, but the car is still out of rego coz Anthony hasn't been working, now this? Maybe I'll get lucky & there'll be a cheap one on the board at the supermarket. Doubt it, but you never know!

I was trying all night last night to get on and post but the website wasn't working on my computer.

Matt had to pick Jazz up early from daycare yesterday. She slept for a couple of hours in the morning at day care, then a couple of hours in the afternoon when Matt got her home, then she slept from 8:30pm until 6:30am this morning but she looked heaps better today so I think she needed all that sleep. She has a bad cough now though.

She was really active in the bath yesterday, I think she was actually playing. She'd kick and then I think she realised that the water splashed if she kicked so she kept doing it and laughing each time. When I was pouring water on her she was trying to grab the cup as well.
I think it's time to get some bath toys.
