Yeah its a bit of a bummer re: splitting of the groups.... i think we learn a lot from each other...

thanks ever1 for your support re: lc.... i do feel so much better.

Prama - good on you for making a formal complaint and im glad they apologised - i should of done the same with the pediatrician....he was the worst and apparently there have been a few complaints about from patients and nurses but he manipulates the situation and gets away with - speaking from a reliable source. But i told the lc about him and she knows the director of lactation at westmead and she is going to do somehing about it....

Also my ob names was dr tien huynh she is fantastic ive had her for over 3 years as a gyn and ob for my endometriosis....my sister in law and her friends had her too - she will do anything for you and she genuiely cares about u too.... she missed my deliver my milliseconds....lol i was too quick... she arrived as they were putting joshi on my belly... she was sooooooo disappointed.

Your exercise group sounds like fun - the playgroup was just that -new mothers with bubs and toys.... i didnt stay long as monkey needed a feeda dn all the other mothers were bottle feeding and it was cold in the room... plus i had his ped. appt later.

The BF schedule is (use this only as a guide girls):

    12.30am FEED than SLEEP
    4.40am FEED than Sleep
    7.30am feed than sleep
    10.30am feed than sleep
    a feed between 12 and 4.30pm with sleep/play time
    4.30pm feed than sleep/playtime
    5.30pm feed than sleep/playtime
    6.30pm feed
    7pm bathtime
    7.30pm feed than sleep
    10pm feed than sleep

The LC said that bubs our age should be getting approx 7-8 feeds a day. The reason why more feeds in arvo cause baby is more unsettled and there is more of the fat milk. Anyway i found it easier to settle him more with more feeds at this time if he is unsettled.

    Hope this helps girls.xxxx

Thanks for the guide. I'm sad they've split the group also.

Today I'm going to try a schedule. She had a feed at 9am so this is my plan:

9am feed / me time while holding Jazz
12noon feed then my lunch then playtime & housework
    3pm feed & play
    4pm feed
    5pm cook & eat dinner
    6pm feed
    7:30pm half feed
    8pm Jazz bathtime
8:30pm cluster feed until she falls asleep (usually about 9:30).
After Jazz is asleep I'll run the dishwasher and prepare a load of washing for the following day. If its early enough I might clean the bathroom before I go to bed.

Jazz was showing tired signs so I put her in her basinette and put a muslin sheet over the top (the basinette has a hood). I let her grissle and now it's quiet :-) I want to teach her to settle herself. I'm gonna go and try and have a rest as well. For some reason I don't sleep very well. Even though Jazz sleeps all night, I just can't switch off. Last night she fell asleep at 10:30. I proceeded to do some housework and went to bed at 12:30. Then I got up again at about 1am for 15mins. I need to learn how to relax.

I've hit my first major challenge of setting a routine. It's about 2 hours since her last feed and she's wanting a feed again but I'm going to stretch her out for another 30-45 mins if I can.

after 15 mins of crying she's relaxed again in my arms. I'm giving her a dummy for now and shushing gently in her ear to calm her... I spoke too soon. crying again

    Hi guys,

I did post in the old thread trying to explain the split......

I would imagine you girls all stay together anyway? Aren't your little ones all born between the 1st and 15th anyway? And if there is anyone who falls outside the dates I don't know why they can't still post here? If it's a bonding/comfortable thing then I dont know why it would be a problem??

    Sorry to butt in.

    Afternoon girls,

DJ has had such bad wind this morning arghhhh roll on 12 weeks well at least I am told it is supposed to settle down by then. I have the apt with paed next week so will bring it up and see what he says about it. Infants Friend is working, making him fart which is good so releasing the gas so to speak.

But great news, went to baby clinic earlier and got DJ weighed etc and he now weighs 5.5kg, 60cm long and his head circum is now 38cm. I am very happy with that Such a growing boy.

Ania - thanks for posting the schedule - how long did she say to feed for? ie. duration - 10 mins?? especially those frequent feeds in the afternoon, how long should they be. I might give something like that a go and see how we go. I have fed basically all morning with DJ because he has been so unsettled.

Danni - don't worry I know what you mean and you know what when you start to relax that is when they wake up and you get no rest. arghhh it is a vicious cycle haha I am always hoping I can stretch out feeds so I get a break.

Prama - how is poopy doing? have you managed to get outside today - it is stunning outside, went for a walk to baby clinic and then visited a friend also. It was good to get outside and walk DJ in his pram.

Looks like DJ is finally asleep - not sure how long that will last he is only having mini sleeps today. Hopefully that means he will sleep really well tonight.

Take care everyone and make sure you get outside in the sunshine - great medicine for us

shell - it is a lovely day outside!! it was so nice to be outside!
well done on DJ's weight gain! he's so lovely! and im so glad his hair is growing back!
went to pharmacy direct to get some huggies wipes, not going to use JJ ones, some infacol & little fess for us to take away. and got a big tin of sustagen. the midwife recommended it before, to keep the energy level up while bf-ing. then poopy got hungry so fed him in the car, and realised the aircon was too cold, so i got out of the back seat with him still on my boob, and turned it down.. didnt even realise i was out in public! there was a man in the car parked next to me, i think he didnt notice cos he was playing with his baby and singing.. lol

ania - did she say how long? im feeding about 20mins each side, but he still seems hungry always, thats why im topping up. im back to taking fenugreek tablets and cont with motilium.

guess it's back to just us in this thread, i will miss the others. but then again, i suppose they could say i dont belong here....

I have a question.... its going to be TMI - but have to ask...
Anyone noticed CM changes? mine has changed and TBH i am ****ting myself, CM is thin and stringy - egg whiteish, i have read that means possible ovulation.... heres the problem, we DTD the day that it changed with no contraception... could this be the case, or do changes happen that are not related to cycles? I guess as she has started sleeping through i am more likely to ovulate, but she it still totally BF...
    wht do you think?

SJ - yeah, im afraid that that's one of signs of ovulation, i was doing the billings method when TTC poopy. but with that you have to DTD within 48hrs to concieve. what you could try is to monitor your basal temperature, if you want. after ovulation your temp goes up, and just before AF is due it will drop again, if you are pg it will stay up. im not sure how it works if you are bf-ing tho. but then with basal temp you have to take your first morning temp, so that wont work with bf-ng in the middle of hte night. sorry, im not helping.

so sorry, im not helping.. i hope it will all be ok.. you could do a HPT after 10-14 days.

No "O" for me. I got an inplanon about 4 or 5 weeks ago. Still haven't DTD either. Not allowed to for at least 2 more weeks. Besides, with the depression meds Matt's on he's having trouble in that department anyway!

OMG SJ!!!!! Imagine that..... Still no DTD here, DH keeping well away from me cos he doesn't want any more daughters.

Summer is much happier and back to her happy little self today, she did a massive poo when she was at the creche it leaked through her clothes and onto her pram and they didn't change her, but anyway since then she has been much more contented.

I think i need to do some boxing at the gym tomorrow i need to smack the sh** out of something.

Off to music lessons well drive codie there.... My house is a mess no dinner organized and i couldn't be bothered doing either.

Hi Chickies - i wrote this replay b4 than it all of a sudden disappeared...anyway i went to the community nurse this arvo aswell and had monkey checked out....weigh 4.42kg, 59cm length and 39cm hc - he has grown 8 cm in 11 weeks - he is just a very long boy... the weigh is OK just have to keep checking him...they said u cant grow both weighs its one or the other...phew....but i found out that the first paed that i saw at westmead private apparently alot of mothers have complained about him as well as the nurses/midwives and community nurse... he is just horrible and i think they are doing something about it... if it wasnt for him i wouldnt be so stressed out and its only now that i have control again things are looking up.

Re: schedule - girls she didnt say how long to feed for but i'm guessing on average 30mins on each boob - everyone feeds different so pls dont take my word on this... but my paed yesterday said that 30 min is plenty on each boob to empty it out...hope this helps girls... but ive started doing a similar schedule and he is more setled and sleep more.

SJ - sorry but i agree with Prama they are the signs of ovulation... and u are still bf arent u? They say women can still get their periods when BF...my sister in law feel pregnant when she was still feeding he little one at 10months.... dont stress cause it can throw ur timings even more.... im sure everything will be fine

Shell - well done on DJ weight gain..hopefully mine will eventually catch up...although he doesnt look all that skinny in the face... also in regards to the feeds shell ifind that in the arvo they are shorter and after he latches off a few times i distract him with toys or go for a walk than come back to a feed - cause usually they wont sleep around this time... how is DJ this arvo more settled????

Another tip i got for feeding BF...they dont always go onto there schedule it depends what kind of the last 48hrs u had so some days they may feed more than others...if they are unsettled and u have done everything else ie nappies, dummy played etc just pop them on the boob.

DAnni - i do the same when im trying to put joshi to sleep but unfortunately in my arms.... i wrap him up tighting (he loves the feeling) and place a wrap over me nad him... and eventually he falls asleep - i also do this in the pram - it works wonders but he falls asleep quicker. You also sound like me.... i cant sleep during the day i need things cleaned... but at the time hun i think u should go to bed and rest.. you will feel so much better... speaking from exprience...

    speak soon grls xxxxx
