    Post

    Good morning ladies,

Happy birthday to all the babies. I haven't done anything special for DD. I am too busy with exam preparation and also no close family or friends. It's amazing - our babies have turned one. For the past 2-3 weeks DD has being crawling everywhere. Now she is preparing herself for walking.

Yesterday I had my implanon removed. DH and I have discussed having another baby. I am a little scared to become pregnant again but the whole experience again would be wonderful and fanastic. Ideally, I would like to get pregnant after graduation and have found a job however since I have removed my implanon I am ready. I just hope it's a boy this time because I already have a girl

Next week Wednesday is my first exam and I am super excited. A lot excited knowing the semester is coming to an end. Super super happy because I know I will not fail my exams. I know too ****y for my own good! I hope all the mothers and bubs had a wonderful first birthday with their babies. Yasmeenia will be having some fun once my sister/s come down in July.

    Hi Sassy,

I am a little confused . Are you talking to me or Mis about the implanon removal and why? You said 'Mis' and not 'Girl'. If you meant me, it's not a personal question. I am happy to answer it. DH and I have spoke about having another baby. He would rather that TTC after my graduation. In the beginning I wanted to TTC for a baby #2 within 3-4 months after getting a graduate position or a job somewhere in my field. But since I have had the implanon removed I guess I am ready. It would be interest to experience this TTC business.

Does anyone know where Sassy will be holidaying? Because she won't be back for another week before my question is answered.

    Hi All,

I'm thinking its been quiet in here cause everyones probably been busy with 1st year birthdays and the parties. So Happy 1st Birthday's to those bubba's I might have missed (I think I covered most on facebook...sorry if I forgot anyone on there).

It also seems like a few of you's have gone on holidays (Girl- I think Sassy was off to Tasmania if I recall correctly) - not me though. Also I've had a little trouble logging on here lately with the site issues...always seems to be when I've had a few minutes spare to do some serious posting .

I think I will just do an all about us/me post today, so sorry for no personals - bit tired after a hard days work. It was really busy today at work - a few staff sick, plus customers kept coming out of the woodworks. I'm so glad I'm only part time though, I could just walk out at 4.15pm and say "see ya's on Thursday" (except for the heap of work I created for myself because of doing that oh well its nothing that can't wait).

Anyhoo....Cam is going well. He has got a little cold, which started last night, but he is still a happy little fella. DH looked after him today (instead of my mum), and when I got home - Cam was very cuddly with me when DH went to work (still does night shifts).

We had a great 1st birthday with him. From us he got a smart trike (a green one), and a Peter Alexander dressing gown (i'm not one for brand lables, but I'd been given a gift voucher at my baby shower last year and couldn't find anything for myself - so when I'd seen those - i thought how cute and that way it only cost me $15 - though its a size 2). From family and friends he got alot of toys as expected and a few clothes. The clothes are mainly a size 1 in winter things, and I think I might ask for the receipts to return them for smaller sizes, as Cam is still in the transition of going to a size 0, and I'm thinking by the time he is in 1's - it could be summer or even next winter. I'm not sure its worth holding onto size 1's in case they fit him next year, cause if he has a major growth spurt - it'll just be a waste of money....don't you think?

Anyway....We made some baby cupcakes for him to take to kindy on Friday, they loved it. He only had a half day there though, as DH used that free morning time to prepare for Cam's party on Saturday - like baking more blue iced baby cupcakes for the birthday cake - which we shaped into a 1 and put little pre-prepared letters that said HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMERON 2009. Then Friday night we did another little cheesecake to sing happy birthday with, and funnily enough it turned out when we were singing it - it was exactly 5.40pm - the time he was born (not planned that way). So feeling a little caked out now...glad there is no other birthdays in the family til mine in September.

Cam's party on Saturday was a great day. There was a few last minute RSVP's and declines, but other then that i feel it went pretty well (I really can't understand why some people...with no committments I mean, like no kids or job...can't tell you there plans...and there was 1 person who i only 1 month ago chucked up a little wobbly when they didn't get many rsvp's for their kids 1st birthday, i think i was 1 of a couple that had..grrr!). The day was nice too, the rain cloud stayed away til later that arvo and its kinda been raining on and off ever since, so we are lucky. DH had gone down to set up the party stuff in the morning, and not long after he'd set up, a group of people started to set up a jumping castle and band area just near our spot. At first I went into a panic...as I'd googled to make sure nothing was happening there that weekend. But it turned out to be a free church youth group thing, and actually worked out well for a couple of the older children to be able to go jump on the castle and dance with the music they played (wasn't too bad actually).

Oh, almost forgot. We had a little scare on Cam's birthday on Friday as well (some of you's would've seen on facebook anyway). It was in the arvo when Cam was home with DH (I was at work - got the phone call 10mins before I was due to finish), Cam was walking whilst holding onto the kitchen table and he slipped and knocked his mouth on the leg of the table. Blood poured out and DH was having trouble stopping the bleeding, as well as couldn't apply the pressure required whilst he drove to drs, so decided to call an ambulance (the station is only a street away, so really convienent). They came and as Cam was really upset, they couldn't see what damage was done, so they took them to the hospital. DH managed to stop the bleeding on the way there though and it turned out Cam had split that bit of skin between your gum and top lip. Apparently this has a good blood supplier, hence why it bleed so much. Cam was ok though, as they said that it was more the strange blood in his mouth sensation, rather then pain from the split. No pain relief or stitches required.

As for other updates...Cam's still only got 6 teeth (4 top, 2 bottom) - though there could be more on the way....all the signs are here again. He is not quite walking, but it is very close. He keeps letting go between furniture alot. He is going for his needles tomorrow as long as he is healthy enough, this happen last time with cold and teeth issues, and we ended up delaying it a couple of weeks. As of yesterday he is solely on cows milk, I'd been doing just the 1 formula a day til the tin was empty. But I think thats about all thats happened here.

As for the TTC again question, we are trying naturally again now, but if it hasn't happened by end of this year, we will get a referral back to the fertility specialist for next year. So hopefully I'll be able to let you's know some good news soon

Well I think I've rambled long enough now....plus Cam's just woken - having a little cough (aww poor sick bubba)....after his cough he does a little sigh, which just breaks ya heart.

    Hope everyone is well.

    Bye for now,

Sassy even though you have already left have a great trip!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah on those who are TTC!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goodluck:-)

Jess i think a nice quiet birthday would have been nice, abbie has that little pram that T got for her birthday its so cute isn't it!!!!!!!!!!

Abbie has four teeth up the top and four teeth down the bottom PLUS she has TWO MOLARS down the bottom, honestly she is crazy one day she only had four teeth and now she has 10. They all came at once and i can see another few coming as well pour little thing i think htat i would rather get them throughout a few months instead of all at once.

Girl good luck with TTC a boy, we TTC a girl with abbie and it worked we just went off timing really and positioning, so do your research and it should work no promises but its worth a try isnt it.

Bec sorry to hear about cam's little accident glad it wasn't anything too serious.

We are all sick here cody had vomitting yesterday, i feel like i have the flu aching everywhere headache diahria (sp) and abbie is all whingy. Oh i hope that i feel better soon so over it!

Anyway hope all is well, and hello to everyone else

    Nikki you crack me up..lol

I havent posted as i dont really have anything to update, i have been lurking though.
Hamish had his 12 month needles yesterday and he was very good, didnt budge for the first 2 but had a bit of a cry for the third one. He woke this morning with a bit of a cough grr just when i thought he was over his cold. Its just never ending at the moment. Dp and i have both had it and mine is gone, dp's still lingering. I was suppose to go the big BB meet up this weekend in Melbourne but Dp has some things he has to do for his brother at there place to get it ready to sell due to sil having her accident.
So it will be a quiet long weekend at home for me i think, although i watched opera today about decluttering so who knows i may get some motivation to organise this house.
Hamish is only having 1 bottle now at night (cows milk) and a sippy cup (approx 80ml) for breaky and lunch. I was not sure this is enough but mchn informs me it is fine if he is having plenty of other sources of iron. He has 9 teeth and 2 molars still nearly through, he is walking most of the time but the odd occasion he will crawl.
We had a great weekend away with my family last weekend, there was 10 adults and 10 children ageing from 14 to 1. Everyone had a great time including hamish who loved all the animals and playing with all his cousins.

Ok i think that is it for me, i hope everyone is well and all the 1 year olds (lol) are sleeping and behaving for there mummys.

I'm here, but not here, IYKWIM!! We're in Beirut, after surviving a 15 hour flight to Dubai relatively well. After a night in Dubai Aadi decided to crack it and turn into a difficult, tantrum-throwing, attention-seeking hyper-bebe and has been driving me insane ever since we got on the plane to Beirut... He's getting so much attention and he's been sick and snotty, so I guess it's sort of to be expected. But my SIL, who has a 2-year-old here as well, has offered to take us to see a great paediatrician tomorrow to get a different opinion on his behavioural issues, since we don't seem to get much useful from the "professionals" at home. He's really being challenging, and we're just so tired because he wont sleep. Every little thing is a huge drama with the most disgusting tantrums, screaming and kicking, and it's really quite embarrassing. He is also refusing to be held by me, and is crying for DP all the time. He has developed a great friendship with the maid here, tho, so that's giving me a couple of minutes to "relax" here and there, but DP and I are taking it in turns to nap with Aadi in order to catch up on some sleep and try to get over the jet lag. We're almost back to our normal routine as much as possible, but the tantrums at 2-4 in the morning are getting worse and it's not fair on everyone else in the house who is being woken up by his yelling! And I could do without the bruises from him belting me all the time. I'm hoping that when we get to Nice things will be a lot quieter, with a lot less chaos and noise and people, and we might get some relaxation. Lebanon is a crazy place, and I just cant get used to seeing army dudes with machine guns on every street corner. The tension is worse than normal because there's an election on Sunday, so hoping things dont get too out of hand because I dont particularly feel like being evacuated. I'm enjoying the food too much!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Haven't got time to re-read posts now. There's a plate of sweets with my name on it, and it's demanding I eat it NOW! Will try to get back on later if the power doesn't go out. Otherwise, net cafe in France maybe...

Sorry i have been MIA from here...
DD had her immunisations and they went well... a few tears but ok within a few seconds... Very proud of her.
NaNa- I hear u on "professionals" here... Still awaiting for help for DS and he is almost 5... GL Hope things stay calm over there also.
Abb- Glad hamish's needles went well also... what brave bubbas we all have... (i would hate to get 3 needles a few seconds appart... WOW on the teeth... and DD is also on cows milk now... after more issues with formula my GP said to just switch now. i was using A2 milk but just brought the kids milk to try (added vitamins and she had 3 150 ml bottles from 4pm til bed time so i am happy to see her drinking again.

Her wee really smells though?? not sure why??
Dd is walking so well now... even walked round the shops with me today... (for bout 30 min) We picked up DS from DC and she played outside with the older kids and loved it... thinking of maybe trying 1 day to see how she goes. (but then think might be better for DS to have an extra day as DD doesnt really NEED it...

Nikki- Sorry u had to post twice. 2 forums anf FB keep me busy lately... LOL. Trying not to spend as much time on the puter aswell... (not working much) think i need to get into the working routine again. up early clean up go for a walk then come back and have the rest of the day to do what ever... (easier said then done. lol)

    Hi everyone,

Apart from my relationship dramas, which is currently getting better actually much better, studying for my exams have kept me busy. DD is doing great almost walking but not there yet. She prefers to crawl and explore that way. However she is standing for a few seconds and freaks out when she realises it, Lol. Her 4th teeth is growing on the top and still has two teeth down the bottom. She is enjoying childcare but after next week Monday she will no longer be going. I have decided to postpone one of my exams and fake a sickie so she doesn't go to childcare anymore. As from Monday she will be permanently staying home with me until I get a job (after my graduation- that is). DH would like her to go to childcare sometimes so she can interact with other children and develop her social skills. But I am not too worried. I want my precious girl around me. She now has hair! Lol. A lot of it as well. DD will be having her 12 month immunisation next week Thursday since my exam is on Wednesday. I decided not to immunise her while I am studying in case she reacts to the immunisation. For example: crying too much, etc. I can't wait to have her weighed also. Enough from me.

    NANA -

I am so jealous. There is a maid, you are holidaying and the food! Although it must be really scary seeing army people around with guns. How terrifying. How long will you be staying there? Going anywhere else? Oh you poor thing about DS. Cheeky little monkey. It must be embarrassing, I know that feeling. DD has recently started acting out but not as badly as your DS. I just hope you find answers when you visit the paediatrician. What has he/she said?

    Jess -

How exciting that your DD is walking.

    Abbie -

Sounds like you had a fanastic time with your family. Oh how I miss mine especially now since I am a mother. 9 teeth? Wow.

DD took her 1st steps at 10months 5 days. Now if u call her or she has something she runs in the opposite direction. I wish she was back to that less confident stage... I mean its lovely that she runs to me for cuddles but she is getting in to sooo much...

She now says yum yum for food now its very cute. She also LOVES the phone so much i had to give her an old mobile or she would scream the house down if i was using ours. She outs it to her ear and says "Hi dada " "a bubba, ah lalalala" (translation Hi dad, its bubba, i love you)

IS anyone else's bubs very clingy still... DD wont even let brad speak to her or pick her up these days. i cant be out of eye sight or she screams... Any tips for getting her to be less clingy??

Girl- I hear u on relationship dramas... DP and i have been fighting a bit... i think he's just stressed... add this to his neuralgia (nerve in his neck causing neck pain and extremly severe migranes through the left eye). I know its painful but he speaks to me like crap when in pain when i am only trying to help... I have no family around either which makes things hard.

Yesterday I totally freaked out. I have decided not to have a baby! Yesterday I took the morning after pill after trying to conceive. I ran and took the pill. Lol. I will wait until I finish this degree and once I get a job then TTC. So now I have to find a conception to use. Any suggestions anyone? I am thinking going back on implanon. It's perfect and have bleed every two months. After taking the morning after pill at 5:30pm. I gave DD at 7:30pm, cows milk, she refued. The packing on the morning after pill said not to breastfeed for at least 3 days. By midnight DD was crying. She wanted breastmilk and refused the bottle. I called the Healthline and said how the stuff in the morning after pill can be secreted in the breastmilk and could cause the baby to vomit and diarrhoea. So she wouldn't stop crying. I spoke to a Pharamcist. He suggested I wait 24 hours before I breastfeed her. She was throwing tantrums. I was feeling guilty. I gave up. Breastfeed her. Within 5 mins she fell asleep. I guess she wasn't hungry. She only woke up once during the night where she normally wokes up twice. She only woke up once because she was too tried after two hours of crying. In the morning, I breastfed her. When at childcare at 9:30am. So in 2-3 hours I will be picking her up. I have my exam on Wednesday. So after Wednesday I will be pulling DD out of childcare. She won't be returning because my stressful exam studying will be over and I will postpone my next exam so she can be home with me while I take 3 weeks to prepare my other exam.

    Jess -

I totally understand about not having family around because I am on the same boat as you there. I have no friends around either, well I have met a few ladies living around my around but no one I can really trust and brand a 'friend'. I realised how much I needed DH around after experiencing 6 days alone and taking transport when I needed to go somewhere. At the moment, DH is working away from home and will be coming home during the weekend. Good thing is I am coping. We are getting along great. Jess, have you tried staying out of his way when is in pain? I am sure you too would when the same thing if in pain. By the way, my niece started walking at 10 months. Clever little monkies is my niece and your DD. My DD is very clingy. She speed crawls whenever I leave the room and does the same with DH. She cries after him if he leaves, Lol. It is so cute. It melts my heart to see her so attached to her father, someone else besides from me, Lol. Yasmeenia only says 'Mumma' when she wants me.

Not much to report here... Hope everyine is well...

Still no luck getting any of our money back from the net hackers... so now we have an $8000 debt on our hands instead of a $4000 and no savings at all... ( wipped out of bank of $3000...

But hey could be worse right.
I'm trying my hardest to think positivley but its soo hard... especially when DP has this neuralgia and its costing us a fortune to get him seen by the neurologist, alsO DS with his paed appointmentrs, speech etc... Plus the Wikidz isnt going so well... have 1 party booked so far and thats it... might have to look at going back to proper work but then i have the dilema of daycare etc...

    Hey, I'm still not here...
I tried to post yesterday but the power keeps going out here and I lost it twice! Argh...
We're leaving Beirut tomorrow (finally!) and heading to Dubai for a night, then off to Nice. I can't wait.
The visit to the paediatrician was a bit of a waste of time and money, since he said exactly the same thing as the drs at home - keep doing what I'm doing, Aadi's perfectly normal, just a little more hyper than average... no hints on how to cope with this hyperactivity or positive methods of disciplining a soon-to-be mobile destructo-bebe. But at least DP came to an appointment with me and realises some of my frustration at the medical profession being less than helpful in that regard, and at least the doctor didn't immediately suggest that it was me with the problem and I should have counselling! So now, since everyone in this country is pro-medication, pro-intervention blah blah, they've decided I shouldn't be breastfeeding Aadi anymore because apparently it's bad for him and it couldn't possibly have any benefits anymore... um WTF?? HUH?? This came from DP's cousin, who is a midwife!! Argh! I swear, people in this place are all mad. Everyone is taking a dozen different prescription medications for goodness knows what, they all smoke, they eat terribly unhealthy food, and they're laaaaazy! What would anyone know about the healthy, natural lifestyle I'm trying to give my son? But I have to smile and make nice for the family (then leave the country for ever and ever!).
Anyway, I don't care if they all think I'm a freak. I just wish they would stop smoking inside when Aadi's around (he's coughing like a chain-smoker), and they would stop trying to put the car seat in the boot every time we go somewhere. The amount of mothers I have seen holding newborn and small babies on their laps in the front seats of fast-moving cars is so frightening! Get me out of here!

I think I missed a few things in the last few posts, haven't had time to go back and read properly, but Jess - What happened?? That's terrible!
Sass - how was Tassie? Hope you had a nice time away with the family!
Girl - Why the freak-out? Hope things are a bit calmer after all the stress of exams and whatever, and you can spend some time with your family.
OK, have to go before the generator dies and I lose everything again! Next news from France maybe!

NaNa- OMG that sounds aweful... i think ur doing a great job still BF... same with Mis_t. U girls are both going things i wish i could. Keep up the GREAT work... YAY for booby juice...

Well i finally decided to purchase the tabs the paed prescribed for DS... There a blood pressure med to help calm him down a bit... (less invasive then add meds) and he said DS was only borderline add... WTF... if he's borderline what the hell r other mothers putting up with...
havent given him any... DP is against it but i feel i have to try for DS's sake and try to get him to concentrate better and get progressing before kinder next yr... I could never see myself medicating him before )and i know its not really medicating as such) but i hatet he fact that my 4 1/5 yr old son need tablets to help him... But its all for his own good... hopefully it will be enmough to get him over this bad behaviour cycle and he can get focused and get back on topof the learning and wont need to be on them for long... were hoping it will just take the edge off him...

DD is going so well... no complaints here. i honestly couldnt have asked for a better bubs... appart from the clingyness she is an angel. I really need to snap her out of the mummy fase... i cant even be out of her sight for a sec without her screaming...

    Hi ladies

It is very very quiet in here, i really like that we can all come in here and talk about our bubs, i hope that we don't all get too busy and stop coming in here. I know it is hard it is sometimes along time betweeen post's for me too.

Nana i am glad that your holiday is going well .

jess sorry about your party plan thing, i will do a party for you soon just right now is a really bad time my sil and bil have just split up, lots of crap happening at the moment. Ever thought of family daycare, you wont need childcare then:-)
I cant believe about your hackers, i have had three emails trying to get my internet banking details. About 2 years ago we had someone steel our credit card details and stole $1000 off us , our bank investigated it and we got the money given back to us. So sorry to hear about your situation it must be hard.

Abbie as almost stopped sleeping during the day, most days now she only has one sleep when normally she would have atleast 2. And she is only sleeping for about an hour now when before she would sleep for 2-3 thoughout the day. She is not too cranky it would just be nice for her to sleep a bit longer. Other then that not much else to report here.

    How is everyone else going????
    Hope all is well
