Blanche i know u FF.....so, have you start on cows milk yet? Or still on follow on formula OR Toddler 1-3 yrs??
I started Chelsea on Toddler milk...made a post on here and a few have said NOOO dont use it...just give normal cows milk.
gigi - i am so glad that you had a wonderful day on Bilby's birthday...sometimes the best celebrations are the ones that happen spontaneously. I hope you are wrapping urself in warm lovely hugs - you deserve it. Isn't wonderful when the fog lifts and we can actually see the beautiful things around us. I had one of those days yesterday to...and another today. thank god!
Aston has spent the afternoon playing with a balloon. the simplest thing has kept him entertained for hours! having been taking lots of video of him, playing and running and dancing and singing. He is so funny, and delightful... and cheeky little monkey!
looking forward to his birthday celebration next Saturday, but for some reason looking forward more to the one on his actual birthdate - his arrival was so special...and so very different to my previous births.
Nelly - darlin, :hugs: and lots of them... i know on so well that horrible feeling of the middle of the night can't breath...should I go to the hospital, shall I wait and see, make a bargin with yourself, if no improvement....etc etc...through grabbing a sleeping 3 year old, throwing her in the car into the mix as her baby brother and mummy are carted away in an ambulance - not pleasent. I pray darlin that he improves today - how is his eyes? if you need a vent, or even a cry hun, just pick up the phone. I wish I could come over and give you a hug for real, and let you go and lay down to recoup for tonight... hun i'm a feeling your pain![]()

Thanks girls today was ok but he is really not himself ... I know his mouth is sore because he won't let me near it even to give him his panadol / nurofen or his losec and he is sooo used to getting his meds he ususally just opens his mouth. He has been having big afternoon sleeps the last few days and really only settles if he cuddling with us which is soo out of the ordinary so I know he isn't well. Just has another coughing attack before we were putting him to bed ventolin seemed to relieve it a bit, the funny thing is he is still putting himself to sleep at night bed time really really well.. Darren and I agreed another episode tonight and straight to the hospital.
how is everyone else today? Blanchie how's the bump going and Kim are coping ok? Sorry I have been immersed in my own world
i had a quick look at ur post Kim as ive just started Emelia on the toddler milk 1-3 same one as u the karicare one! Emelia has been having cows milk on her cereal for a while now and ive tried giving her cows milk with half water in the last week but she wont drink it!
do u know y ppl are against the toddler formula? i am hoping Emelia will start drinking the cows milk soon but in the mean time i will be giving her the toddler formula. wat are u gonna do?
hey Nelly, i hope tonight goes well poor little fellabump going good i think its getting a little bit bigger but i still just look fat!!!
blanche i think people are against it because with a balanced diet they dont really need it, that and it has sugar init i believe.
sophie has cows milk on cereal every morning but still breastfeed 3 times a day, im trying to cut the lunch time one out and replace with cows milk, but im not ready!!!
nelly i hope jake gets better soon for you guys
oh i feel so ****ty, i think it's hormones.![]()
Ella has milk on her cereal too and she has yoghurt for morning tea and a cheese sick in the afternoon. I tired her with milk and like Emelia she wont drink it either so if anyone has any ideas...
We're on 2 feeds a day and i'm planning to cut down to 1....but i'll wait till after her shots.
Nelly - glad to hear little jake is better today. Give him a cuddle for me. Poor sausage.
DH is making hamburgers for dinner mmmmm cant wait. May put some aside for Ella.
Hope everyone has a good night's sleep.
Ann
Blanche im thinking of tryin to give Chels cows milk as well as formula...hopefully by the time ive finished the 2 cans i got (cos was on special) she will be drinking cows milk. If not ill get more formula i spose! She has yoghurt no problems and some cheese but isnt keen on it.
I was huge 2nd time round with Jasmine..i was fat on top of being preg!! Showed waaaaaay early too!
Hope Jake is better soon Nelly...im coping ok. Went thru a patch this week where i stopped eating, drinking and never wanted to go to bed. my punishment: milk went MIA and now has returned..but only able to express max 40ml at a time if im lucky
Hugs Tara![]()
As Jols said the toddler milk has added sugar in it.... which can put a lot of people off. Matilda we kept on the 6-12 months formula until she was 18 months as her reflux picked up when we went to toddler milk or cows milk (uh.... hindsight is a marvelous thing...). Anyway our GP who was also a dietician said it should be fine & not to worry. We went to toddler milk & she was on that until she was 2 1/2 because everytime we tried cows milk she got reflux type symptoms (...hindsight is lovely). So when she was diagnosed with a milk allergy at 3 and a bit it wasn't too strange to us. Formula is based on cows milk but the proteins have changed.
yeah im gonna do the same as u Kim, keep her on the formula until she takes the cows milk! hopefully wont take her long
aww i just looked at my belly pics of Emelia i love a pregnant belly!! check em out i just put them on Emelias site, gosh i was huge those are taken when i was 39wks!! (dont mind the stretch marks!)
Wow Blanche... i wasnt that big with either girls!!
Nelle - how scary for you. Is bronchiolis (sp??) a permanent thing, or does it re=occur? I thought ventolin was for people with asthma? Is Bronchiolis some form of asthma? (this is all new to me, if you are too tired to answer, that's cool).
Luua - that sounds so cute, Ella jumping into your arms from the pool side. I'd like to make cotton sleeping bags too, how do you do your closures? I have no idea how to sew a zip in, so i wondered about other options. FUnky 70's patterns sound good - you need something for humour when babies won't sleep!
your dh sounds like mine, if i give him a definite thing to aim for, he's fine, but on his own? well, i end up taking it back for a refund (one year it was CURTAINS!!!!).
Taralee - we always have a fan on too, even in winter she needed it! i think i have the warmest blooded bilby in Australia! in her sleep, she'll sweat like it's hot (even in winter!!). ANd you're right, from what the CYH nurses told me, the babies need the "white noise" to help them sleep.
KimBaz, you're not paranoid, you've just got Protective Mummy Genes!!!
i had not thought of my posts as being warm and fuzzy! The rest of you seem so together, so all conquering, i feel like the post natal D flop amongst you lot! You go on holidays, have parties, you're out there doing stuff, i'm in awe! You lot inspire me, i tell myself, i'm a bit slower, but hopefully, one day, i'll be doing lots too, like you are now. One day!
Vicky - yeh to the lifting of fogs! Yeh for Aston delighting in a balloon, awww!
Blanchie - darling you are NOT fat, you are growing a lovely baby!!! If you WEREN"T looking bigger, the baby would not survive. So it's a good sign.
i've been told the 2nd baby preg can show earlier, cos the tummy muscles have already been stretched from first pregnancy, but i've also met 2nd time mummies who didn't show til later, so i guess, like most stuff to do with bubs, everyone is different. I look back on my preg belly photos with such fondness (knowing it will never come again), but at the time, i think i was much more occupied with "oh my sore back" etc, I didn't show much until six months, (which was a real pain, cos no-one helped me when my car broke down, and when we moved house), but at six months - WHOA - all of a sudden - HUMUNGOUS! and i'm only 5 ft 2, and humungous on a shorty is ROOLLY humungous!!!
Kim, are you trying formula / cow's milk so you don't have to worry about tandem feeding? I know someone who did that last year, it's a tough gig. (two at once).
We are feeding maybe five times a day, but i find it hard to keep track of how often, cos it's on demand. Bilby is having three solids meals per day. I really need to get a blender to do up her fruit, she chokes on me just forking it up. Still not liking meat so i am a bit challenged in her "protein" uptake. I guess she gets some protein from my milk, but i worry she should be getting it in solids as well.
(gee how unusual, me worrying!!!)
Have a lovely Sunday girls! After the pool success of Friday, we are going, as a family, to a Waterworld community outdoor pool, for a bit of splashing about on a 36 degree day (under shade hopefully!) so daddy can see her being a water bilby!
She has done some "nearly a cuddle" type things in last two days, dont' wanna jinx it but . . . . here's hoping!!
ciao bellas!
fingers crossed for some cuddles for you Gigi - also just invest in a stab mixer instead of a blender, i have a braun one and it comes with a tall container to put everything in to make it easier to stabmix...does that make sense? i know you can buy no brand ones for not that much nowadays
feeling better today, just needed a bit of sleep
evie's the dairy queen, and it's her go-to food group lol. i've been doing half water and half milk for a while now she doesnt seem to mind it but prefers water. I'm cutting feeds down too. she didnt have any yesterday except for before bed and 2 through the night *sigh*. i gave her a little one this morning too. but i plan to cut them down and then wean her off during the night. i'm just trying to remember pinky's moto 'gradually with love' cos this baby sure does love her night feeds!
but i'm just trying to enjoy those special night cuddles while i can![]()

Gigi bronchiolitis is an inflammation of the airways and is caused by a virus... it's not asthma but some studies show a predisposition to it in babies with croup and bronchiolitis. Ventolin relaxes and opens the airways making it easier to breathe.
No hospital last night - a few cough attacks but he was able to breathe through them.
Jols you were tiny! Here is me just before my 7am call in the suite after the gels went in over night.,, I was huuuuge!
