Kell - hope everyting goes well for your sis - is it her first?

Isn't it funny how differently our babies develop? Some have loads of teeth and others none; some are nearly walking, others just starting to crawl; and some have heaps of words, others not many at all. Their little personalities are rapidly taking shape! Dylan will be a climber, but a man of few words!!

Benjamin is finding his feet very well. He's constantly standing up on his own now, picking up toys to give to us. Our friend had him walking by holding her hand and when she'd get him to let go of her hand he'd take a step forward then sit down. He thought it was good fun though. He's going to be a chatter box too. Not long to go and they'll all be 1...

    Hi!

Louis took 3 steps tonight!!! I couldn't believe it! I bribed him with his dummy and he just walked towards me. Cheeky bugger - hehe.

Donella - I know! It's so amazing. I think Louis will be a chatterbox who's going to love being outdoors - with a grumpy impatient streak - hehe...

Nikki - Wow - how are you feeling now? That belly of yours must be growing! I love baby talk. It's so cute when they sit there having a little conversation with themselves!

Melissa - Benjamin sounds like's he'll be walking soon too! I know - I bought his bananas in pyjamas party invites the other day so I better write them out soon!

Kell - Congrats for your sister! How exciting - gees 4 hours isn't bad for a first time! You must be excited to have another little bubba in your arms (especially one that you can hand back - hehe)

    Morning!
Yep it is pretty nice to hold a tiny bubba and then hand her back when she crys, smells or is generally unsettled LOL. Will is a little babbler too, i guess that energy has to go somewhere since he's still not crawling LOL. Both Molly and Will cam into bed with me this morning while Dh was getting ready for work and Molly was jumping while Will was rolling around, DH came in and was talking to me when i saw Molly sit down heavily right on Will's head  he screamed then she screamed - but thankfully he seems fine

Kristie - WOW on the steps, how exciting for you!!

Kirsty - good to see you back again

Melissa - I know 1 is not far away, how fast has that gone? Sounds like Benjamin will be chasing after you soon...

Tracey - Will is the same, commando backwards tho yesterday he went forwards and then looked a bit shocked so he should get the hang of that soon

Dee - I know it is funny how differently they all develop, and in which order they learn things - each bubs is so individual.

Hope you all have a great day!

Kristie - We had Benjamin take a few steps too last night, we bribed him with the remote control . He still thinks crawling is faster though at the moment. Just wait til they get the hang of it

Kell - You're not getting clucky again are you? You'll turn around one day and Will will be chasing you too.

Wow there's so much to catch up on. Tis hard to know where to start! he ha! But I MUST say a huge congratulations to Cindy and Kristie on your pregnancies. It must be SOOO exciting for you and your DH's.

Gus now has 8 teeth, weighs 5.85kg and is 67cm long! he ha! It looks sort of odd to see a baby so small with so many teeth. He isn't crawling, but has finally mastered sitting which is a HUGE relief! Gus babbles constantly from the moment he's awake until he drops off to sleep. Tis very cute. It's actually nice having him able to communicate a bit better. His only "proper" words though are mum, dad, nan, buba, no and broom broom (for car). But he still manages to get his message across very clearly most of the time even without many words. We're all settled into our new house now. It's not far from the old one (about 10 mins) but in a much quieter and prettier street. We were in Neutral Bay on a busy road and now we're in Cammeray in a really pretty tree filled area. We're loving being woken by the sound of birds in the morning rather than traffic, sirens etc as we had grown used to in our old house.

I'm not back at work yet so lucky to be enjoying time with Gus. We're still very busy with specialist appointments. The main concern currently is with his poor growth and we're now being referred to a geneticist and an endocrinologist to see whether he has some sort of "syndrome" or hormonal problem that might explain why he is growing so slowly and is sooooo far below the 3rd percentile. Our paed thinks it's just an intake problem (ie he just doesn't want to eat very much) but is being cautious and that's why he's referring us for more tests. So that will bring the people monitoring Gus up to the grand total of 15! Crazy huh!

Not sure whether anyone remembers, we were advised to have a close gap between Gus and baby number 2 so that the 2nd born could push Gus ahead developmentally if it turns out that his early brain haemmorages have resulted in permanent damage. We haven't been able to stomach the thought of another pregnancy given my high risk (estimated at 70% likely) of a repeat performance (high risk pregnancy ending at best with a preterm delivery etc). But now I look at little Gussy and worry that maybe we've made a mistake in postponing things. Hmmm have been feeling torn between concerns that we've been selfish and thinking it's better to look after the one that's with us (ie Gus) than to think about expanding the family just now. Agghhh tis so confusing. I bet if I was having a difficult pregnancy it would be a nightmare with all Gus's specialist and allied health appointments. Sorry to unload, I'm having a bit of an emotional time (re him) lately.

On a different note, I decided I needed something to look forward to so a few weeks ago booked a holiday with a couple of my closest girlfriends. We're heading to Melbourne the week after next for five days. We all live in different cities (Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne) so don't get to see each other as much as we'd like. My girlfriends both have baby boys (one 6mths and the other 2mths) so it will be great to finally get to meet the bubbas and very fun watching them play together. We're staying in a serviced apartment in the city so I expect there'll be some city shopping time to. I can't wait. Our poor DH's have to stay home working. he ha!

Anyhow enough rambling. Hope the bubbas with the yucky nappy rashes heal soon. xx
