Hey everyone!

Had a slightly better night last night, but I feel pretty yuck today. It's like a hangover from lack of sleep! I have a splitting headache too just to add to the mix . Some friends were going to come over for dinner tonight, but thankfully they bailed out!! Hopefully I feel a bit better tomorrow for our meet up.

alz - That's great to hear Ethan slept better for you last night!

Julia - I haven't had leek yet, thanks for pointing that one out!

Viv - Wow, what a champ James is sleeping 10 hours! Yep, we regularly have poo-a-thon days. Not sure why they store 'em up.

Celtic - That's great news your DP got a promotion so soon!

Nic - Did you manage to find any shoes today? When is the wedding?

Willow - I'm finding resettling just isn't working for us atm unfortunately. It doesn't matter what I do, if he wakes up he just won't go back to sleep. He was doing so well after the chiro visit, I wonder if his shoulder is bothering him again. Today he has had such short sleeps it is driving me crazy!

Afternoon all

Is it quiet in here or what?? Guess our bubs are keeping us very busy.

Trish - we were supposed to have friends over as well, but their DD has been running a fever so thought better of them coming around in case she gives L whatever.
Viv - L is only pooing once a day and he hasn't done one at all today. 'Cos he does have formula its that paste like stuff. Noice.

Up twice overnight and up at 6am. I went to bed at 9pm with the agreement that DH would feed L when he woke up later in the evening. So come 11.30pm L is crying and I wake up. DH is sound asleep beside me in bed and doesn't even stir! Same goes for 2am. Not impressed.

Poor L has been carted around the countryside today. By the time we got home his eyes were bugging out of his head. Surprising tho he wasn't that grizzly. I guess he is used to it. Been down for over an hour and expect that will get at least another hour.

Trish - glad you had a better night but sorry to hear you are having dramas resettling him during the day. It's a never ending guessing game, I swear! Just when you think you may have it worked out, they go and change the rules on you.

We have had an awful day today, well it started yesterday evening really. He is just so restless and is constantly waking crying during his sleeps. Even putting him down today has been a nightmare when usually he goes off to sleep without much fuss. DH is home today and he even said he's never seen him like this. I've been in tears again because it just seems like this never ends! I would have hoped to have seen some improvement by now, and some days I just can't. I've even given him a bit of panadol tonight because it just seems like something is bothering him and we can't work it out We've booked him in to see a different chiro/osteo on Monday. She apparently specialises in children and was recommended to me by the nurse at sleep school. I pray she will work some kind of miracle on the boy...

I hope we all get enough sleep tonight and hope the Melbourne girls have a great day tomorrow!

Willow - Sorry you are having a tough day. It's funny, I was about to suggest that you should go visit a chiro and then I read that you've already booked in! I really hope you find some answers on Monday. I take K to a paediatric chiropractor so they really know about babies, I can ask chiro anything baby related and he will have the answer! Hopefully the one you see is just as good. They're hard work these babies aren't they?! I just keep remembering how much easier it all got when Joel reached 6 months old, that's what keeps me going sometimes!!

Trish - we've been taking L to a chiro quite regularly since he was about 5 weeks old. We did see an improvement with the other guy and when I think about it, his nights went pear shaped when we stopped taking him, could be coincidence but I'm not sure. I've been told this lady specialises in children/babies so hoping she might be a bit more baby oriented. Also, the lady on the phone today told me it's a 45 min appt, his other chiro only ever spent about 5 mins with him and then only ever really looked at his neck and back. Maybe this lady will be a bit more thorough. We were happy with the other guy but I don't know, hoping for a little miracle I guess! Just got off the phone to my sister who has brought me back down to earth and made me realise again that he's just a normal baby doing normal baby stuff and yeah, it is hard work! I've been thinking about the magic 6 month mark today too!! At least they don't have to sleep as much then LOL!! I must admit, I really loved that age with DD, from about 6-12 months is just beautiful! Not wishing away this time when he's so little because it does go so quickly, but looking forward to that stage where it's not so much hard work!

He has had a gunky sore eye the last two days, I'm not sure if that's what's been disrupting his sleep, but I gave him half a dose of panadol before he went to bed at 6pm and so far he hasn't woken once! First block of solid sleep all day.

Willow - I used to say I'd have another baby if you hand me a 6 month old lol! Yay for L having a good sleep tonight! IDK how K will go tonight, he usually goes down for the night really well, but he has been unsettled this evening. I just gave him his last feed a little early because he was crying. I also gave him a half dose of Panadol an hour ago to see if that helps. Re: the gunky eye - I have heard people swear by squirting breast milk in their baby's eye! Might be worth a shot?!

I'm going to bed now, can't wait to be unconscious!

Yep, been doing that at each feed and it is definitely working

I'm going to hold off til 10pm, I just find he sleeps better if he has a feed then. If I try to do a dream feed any earlier it usually goes pear shaped.

ooh, now i'm curious about why 6mths is so good.

lately (like, 2 days) james has been just awesome again. that clingy, feedy thing is over and he's just cool (and so cute). i wonder what 6 mths will be like.

i wonder if all babies poke their tongues out so much. whenever he smiles he darts his little tongue out at me. he seems to be always poking it out at me. when i go and see him in the cot in the morning he scrunches his shoulders up, clutches his hands under his chin, smiles, pokes his tongue out and rolls away. so cheeky and cute, i love it. i wondered if it's just that babies find their tongues fascinating.

i remember when he discovered it he poked it in and out all day, whether he was smiling or not. ah, the simple things.

Morning all

Well, I don't know what is happening with my bub. He woke up three times overnight 1am, 3.30am and 4.30am and isn't interested in BF. Just when my supply is getting better He hadn't done a poop all day and was letting off some nasty stink bombs, but some bicycle legs solved that (gross as).

Viv - glad J is back to himself again. Can only hope L takes his example. When L was a little younger he poked his tongue out a lot but thats been replaced by drool.

Hope all the Melbourne girls are having a nice catch up.

Hey all!

Thanks Kellie & Mo for a great catch up! It's nice to see the bubba's growing up so quickly. Kieran has not been his happy self today. He was happy when we got home, but after his nap he was a shocker again. I went to give him a little Panadol and I ended up spilling the whole bottle (purchased yesterday) all over the floor, d'oh!

Mo - Glad Maddi likes her new toys! I put new batteries in the musical toy yesterday so they should last you a while. Did you manage to assemble it OK?

Saffi - Sorry to hear you had a rough night with Lachlan, I hope he sleeps better for you tonight.

Viv - 6 months is just so much easier! So cute James is in love with his tongue.

Willow - Hope you're having a better day with L today. I'm having a shocker with K! Won't sleep for more than an hour at a time. I'm calling the chiro tomorrow to see if I can get him in ASAP.

Kim - I hope Craig's foot is on the mend. Did you end up going to the party yesterday?

Aww thanks Trish very sweet of you Phil did it in a min or so loves putting things together(he's like a big kid).

Hope you get into the Chiro soon, Maddi came home a complete grumble bum, no idea why she is so unsettled. She's having a shower hoping it makes her feel better.

I once spilled Maddi's bottle everywhere, She was not happy at all lol.

Trish - we've had a really good day today! Much better than yesterday and much better sleeps, all about 1.5-2hrs and he seems much happier. Still taking him to the chiro/osteo (what's the difference??) tomorrow though. Nights still haven't improved much. Guess we'll just have to keep on truckin', not much else we can do.

Sorry to hear K is a bit unsettled. It's just like a rollercoaster ride hey? One minute you're up, the next you're down again! LOL. Hope the chiro can fit you in tomorrow.

Anyhoo, I'm off, gonna watch So You Think You Can Dance and Grey's tonight - yipee!

Nerida sorry your lil man is having a rough time! He may be having a growth spurt! This made myles a bit fussy too, but I started laying down with him to feed at night and it worked a treat!

Melb girls did you get a pic?

Well we have spent the day driving around trying to find somewhere for Myles naming day! Its impossible to find a lovely restaurant with a nice garden who wont force me to pay with my first born! ARGGGGGHHHH!
And to top things off I have a cold sore for the first time in my life I am so bummed about it! I know why I got it too! I have been feeling really stressed lately and quite run down so I know its my fault! But they suck big time! Sorry just being a sook!

Just popping in quickly before I fall asleep right here.....

Breastmilk definitely helps gunky eyes

Amara is all over the shop with ther last sleep of the day, she just can't last until 8-8.30pm and won't just have a nap. So she is going doen for her BIG sleep too early and then waking up at all hours. I have tried to move her rhythm but no luck - so I am going with the flow for now.

Still no signs of rolling etc here thank goodness. Probably our fault as she does not get enough floor/tummy time as Eliza will not leave her alone, she just can't help herself and is all over Amara ALL the time. A just looks at me as if to say "save me mummy" when Eliza comes near LOL!

I am really enjoying getting rid of clothes here...A is pretty much in 00 now. Still some 000 for seperates but she is way too long for rompers, even some 00 are too short in the body. She wore her first pair of jeans on the weekend - too cute!

Trish, I also live in Melbourne and my baby is all over the place at the moment. Screaming when we put him to bed and we have to pick him up at least 2 times to calm him down. Do you think I should see the chiro? Where abouts do you go to? I'm getting desperate. I've heard that the 4 month mark is a difficult time for the little ones. Hi all. Hope you all had a good weekend. Glad the Melbourne meet up was good!! It would be great if we could ALL meet each other hey?

Oh god, DH is driving me up the wall at the moment. He is sick and of course he is 10 times sick than anyone else in the history of the world! It just seems like a bit of the flu to me but god! Ya should hear him complain! Grrrrr....... Its like I completely dont kno what its like to be sick. Anyway, vent over lol. He doesnt get sick very often, but when he does, WOAHHHHHH! Help me!!!!

Nerida - Hope L is more settled for you tonight. I wonder if these bubs of ours are starting to get a bit of pain in their mouths? Chelsea has been fine, but OMG she goes at her hands. She would practically eat them if they werent attatched to her!!

Amber - Yeah a lot of places charge heaps hey? We had DS christening sfter thingy at the COffee Club, and I dont think it was too bad... They did heaps of food, all the drinks andblocked off a little section for our group and I think they charged us $250. I thought it was ok. With DD though, we have a bigger backyard this time so we will obviously have the ceremony at church and the after thingy at home. Just do the catering ourselves. Would you not consider just having it at home? When are u thinking of having it?

Leah - Know what ya mean! I have been really lazy so Chelseas cupboards are still full of clothes that dont fit her. She is in 000 now so really must get rid of all her small stuff!
