There are many issues that you will encounter as a new parent. We have put together this list of useful articles and threads in order to assist you with some common questions or issues you may have, and to provide you with bit of extra support that we all need as new parents:
Please contact the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) or a Lactation Consultant if you are concerned that you may have breastfeeding and/or supply problems, and before the introduction of solids.
Wow im first!! Playgroup went well, ruby slept the whole time and millana run amok!
Im going to tidy up and put millana to bed and have some me time scrapbooking a starcard booklet for a friend.
BBL for personals.
AnnaT & AMBZ - Im having the same issues my thoughts are with you. AnnaT - my DH gives me the same guilt too.
Girls a question, for those FF, what formula do you use? can we put together a list? be interested in seeing which is most popular. I am only topping up with S26 Lactose free due to my allergies. Thanks for
letting me know what Riley uses Adele..
Maz - where are you??????
Anna** - how'd you go yesterday arvo with your cake?
well Nina had her check up & needles today!!! All went well. She's put on 400g in 2 weeks, no weighs 4.7kg. She cried for about 5 min then went to sleep. She's in her cot playing with her giraffe now. Thank god that's all over with.
All you girls with little milk supply don't feel guilty. My mum had that prob with me and back then they just kept pushing the whole Bfing thing. Wasn't til I actually started losing weight that the health nurse finally agreed with my mum.
Well the baby expo today was soooo busy, millions of prams, hard to move around, some interesting stalls, mainly selling stuff with discounts, didn't buy anything just took the free samples. Ashleigh was well behaved, got bit upset near leaving but i think it was all too much for her.
i use S26, but i have stsrted giving her boobies again, as i wasnt completly dry, and it settles her when she is really tired........now my boobs are filling up again, so she is getting both now.
i've had one of those days with little miss today... she did not sleep through the night (i can accept that i suppose, she is only seven weeks old!) but then after her morning sleep she has not gone back to sleep. she would fall asleep then five minutes later wide awake. she is yawning away, so she is tired (overtired i think!) she was happy to lay in her cot under the mobile, then i gave her a nice bath and massage and put her in her swing. went to get her night bottle and medicine ready, came back and she is fast asleep! her timing will be great. DH rings from the mine in 15mins, i bet she starts squawking as soon as he rings! oh well, at least being this tired she should hopefully sleep well tonight!
we got our bill from the hospital yesterday, thank goodness we only have to pay the excess of $500... plus the $500 for DH boarding. he only ate meals there, did not sleep. i don't begrudge it though, as it was nice to have him there for the meals....lucky the food was good!
ETA we use S26 AR, we were using S26 gold as that is what they used at the hospital.

Turns out that we DO have thrush So I'm using Daktarin for Riv's mouth and I'm taking one Nilstat capsule a day (dr says any more than 1 might upset his tummy).
So he might have been feeding more if it hurts him to feed...poor little guy.
I'm making him wait for his feed, he's crying at the moment, I'm just waiting a little bit more, the dr says the longer I can manage to leave it (as long as he's not hysterical and it's not tooo long), the fuller my boobs will be, so the quicker he'll be able to feed, therefore less time on the boob, therefore less pain for us, than if he was taking his usual lazy 25mins on each boob cos I get distracted and he falls asleep
Poor little guy. We're going to the baby expo tomorrow (as long as things go well tonight). I think I might be insane.
ETA: Oh and forgot to say, after the dr.'s, my car wouldn't start cos the battery was flat. SO thankful my mum was with me, or I think I just would have cried in the car...she went to Kmart Auto round the corner and made them start my car cos I have a 3week old baby
Nelle - honey im so sorry to hear about your thrush and about your car too after the Docs I would have been in tears too. Big hugs coming your way.. hope you feel better soon and River too.
Adele - sorry I missed you last night mate, fell asleep after I fed Julia and she slept from 10pm to 4am YIKES..and I didnt even get to give her her formula top us she was so tired..
Rikki - how you doing? I think I need one of those swings OMG re the hospital bills, we havent got the hospital bill one yet but we have to pay $500 excess then $50 per night for 5 nights. Thats before the $1300 OB bill then the $400 2nd OB bill at the C/s then the Paed $500, the Anethetist $1300 and the other anethestist $350..hopefully we get some money back otherwise we are going to be poor as.
Chrissy - good to see you, wow re boobs not drying up, wonder how long it takes to dry them up without taking the pill?
LittleP - congrats on Alexanders weight!!!
Shell - the Expo sounds great! are you knackered after being out so long?
Jodi - thats great re Nina's weight gain!! shes doing so well
Caddie - is playgroup like mothers group? sounds like fun!!
Maz - hanging in suspense have you done that HPT yet??? comeon girl.
Well its now nearly 5.30am better go back to bed. Going to get a long overdue Pedicure this morning!!! cant wait!!
Nina was so good after her needles. She went to sleep at 7pm, (last feed at 5pm) woke at midnight then slept again till 6.30. Now she's asleep again. I can't go back to bed as I've got too much housework to do before I go out today ... bummer!!
caddie - I'm going to a playgroup/mothers group next Wed, can't wait
nelle - hope you're feeling better soon. I would have been in tears too! Lucky your mum was there with you
