    Hi Girls,

    Hello to everyone

Well we went to the parent teacher night and it turns out my boys are like the Van Wilder of Day Care. They can seem to get all the kids in the class sitting all in a circle and singing along to songs. ( I am sitting here laughing ) Teachers told us they are great boys which makes me very happy and proud.

Noni- Olivia is now turned around in her car seat and she loves it.
Art- How is NZ. Sorry to hear you are in need of sleep.

All is good for me. Talk to you all soon

Leanne - that is great news. I bet you were a real proud mama !!!
cally - how did Katie sleep last night? one of the mums from Zoe's kindy was telling me about a new book she has found 'Save our sleep' by Tizzie Hall. funnily enough i was reading a athread about it before i saw her yesterday. anyway, she said her daughter has gone from waking 3 or 4 times a night to sleeping right through. Apparently it is a very regimented routine though - and i think for me personally it would add too much stress. i am thinking of having a look at it though.
noni - how are you going today?
lots of busy mummies at the moment - hi to queenie, oz, supa and everyone else too.
fianne -maybe we can organise a catch-up when you get back from your holidays. I'm organising a 6th birthday party for Jess next week - having 16 girls for a Disco Party. Then i've got Hannah's baptism to organise. Does that sound ok with you?

jazmum, brave of you to have that many kids around. but then again, you've got the experience so it's probably a breeze for you. anytime's fine with me. maybe we can see if any other queenslander want to catch up with us too. think will check out that book too. had a pretty bad night last night. in bed at 8'ish. got her up at 10:30 for dream feed and nappy change (bad rashes so been changing often). woke at 1'ish, 2'ish, 4'ish....hmmmm....maybe i've got the times wrong but pretty sure i got up at least 2x and dp got up at least 2x.
leanne, your boys sound like they're a credit to their mum.
cally, some have prams parked on the aisle where it's wide but most prams are parked before going into an aisle or up the stairs and to the side lining up to outside. (gosh, don't know if i'm making sense here....need sleep)

Jazmum- I hope the party goes well it sounds like heaps of fun. Yep I am certainly very proud of my boys.
Fianne- Sorry to hear that max is not sleeping well. I hope you get some sleep tonight. I thank god every day for all my babies. Children bring so much joy to life.

Well its my mums birthday today and I just remembered I have to go pick up her cake. Oh boy..... we are having a family bbq at her house tonight. Dad bought her the most wonderful bunch of flowers today it was really sweet.

leanne - hope you have a nice evening
fianne - you're lucky your dh helps you out through the night. Hannah is a real mummy's girl at the moment. She won't let dh rock her to sleep - starts screaming.
we just went to the chiropractor again. He noticed that she had a bump to the right side of her face - near her eye. He put his finger on the roof of her mouth and performed some kind of magic lol.
i think Hannah is getting a cold again - and probably conjunctivitis like the girls

I just had a quick peek into the September belly buddies thread for this yr, isnt it amazing to think how fast time has flown for us! All the girls are 12 or so weeks pregnant and so excited, seems like that was us yesterday.

OMG soooo hot here today, almost 40 deg or maybe it has reached 40 deg by now. I wouldnt have normally left the house on such a hot day with Maddie, but I had uni, which was absolutely fantastic but scary at the same time. I'm really looking forward to getting into my study, its another challenge I guess. The unit I am doing is ecology of children (0-3yrs) which is about how various things influence what kind of a person they will be when they grow up. It is very interesting, and really hits home at how critical it is that babies get stimulation, love and attention from day one. Kinda made me a bit paranoid hahaha!!!

Leanne - Aw how gorgeous, your boys sound wonderful. Enjoy the bbq

Pregpan - How is your search for suitable care for Noah going?

Marydean - Thanks for your study tips!!!

Arte & Noni - Dont beat yourself up, you are both great mummies!!

Fianne - Glad you enjoyed the mums and bubs session, what movie did you see?

Cally - Aw dad spoiled the bath time fun! I can see what you mean about them getting cold though, dont know what your weather has been like lately but we have been having very hot days so we havent had that problem. Wondering what it will be like in winter, hopefully they can sit then.

I am still deciding whether to drop work, gosh its so confusing. I think at the moment I am managing because Maddie is a good baby, she is no hassle to me at all. She sleeps straight through from 6/7pm to 8am in the morning, every night (touch wood). However I am keeping in mind that more than likely she will change her pattern soon and then how will I cope with working and studying on top of caring for Maddie. Sorry for always rabbiting on about this lol. I dont expect anyone to reply about it, it just makes me feel better to get it out in the open iykwim.

Hope you are all having a lovely day!!

Jazmum & Leanne - Its horrible when bubs get sick, cant imagine having to deal with more than one sick child. Also dont know what you hubbys are like, but when mine gets a cold I know alllll about it, he gets the stupid man cold iykwim!!! Hope Hannah manages to avoid it this time.

hayley - know just what you mean!!! my dh likes to inform me about what colour his phlegm is!!!!!ewwwww!!!!! like i don't have enough gross things to deal with lol. perhaps i don't give him enough attention. Tough decision to make with regards to working etc. Perhaps just continue how you're going - especially if it is working out for you now. If things change down the track , you can adjust your life then. I guess, just go with whatever makes you happy. My dad told me something the other day - "life is not a dress rehearsal". Make the most of every moment. Something i am going to have to try and remember daily too

    hi everyone
quickish post from me, Noah is asleep on the couch (i cant get him to sleep in his cot during day at the moment so this is acompromise that is working for us) and i am waiting for him to wake up and then i will go pick DH up from work.
hayley - i am still looking into care options. i dont know what to do. i think it will be about 4 days a week once i go back to work so it is a big decision. we had childcare again today and i must admit i am growing to like it more. i have now spent quite a lot of time there and i think they are getting to know noah and it is better. so that could end up being an option. i have also interviewed a nanny earlier this week who seemed good and we have a family day carer to go meet when i get back from melb week after next. i guess then i will commit to work and make some decisions, may be a combination of those 3 options!!! how is maddie going in day care? i must say you are coping really well w all you have going on, good on you!
Jazmum - party sounds like fun!!! i hope Hannah isnt sick poor little one!
Leeann - good on the boys!! natural leaders at 2 yo hey!!! hope you have fun tonight.
not much news here... i am off to melb again on sun for a week as DH is away - i am half looking fwd to it and half dreading how busy it will be. will be fun to hang out with my SIL and for N to spend time with his cousin! and i am looking fwd to seeing my friends too!
Noah is LOVING his solids this week.. we did 2 meals today (well he has 2 ice cubes at a time) - carrot and pumpkin for bfast and apple for lunch. i know i have them around the wrong order but i guess it doesnt matter. Jazmum thanks for the tip about practical parenting mag i bought it today good article for us 1st timers on solids.
ok better go - havea nice eve everyone!

Jazmum - I like that quote, will try and keep it in mind!

Pregpan - It does get much easier, I dont know if you remember my post after Maddie's 1st day in childcare. I wasnt happy either, they gave her a heap of bottles and I was just generally feeling down in the dumps about it all. Now they have her much more figured out and can tend to her needs more efficiently. I figure it took us mums a few weeks to pick up on our babies cues, its going to take a carer a few times/weeks to find out what baby wants at certain times. However at the end of the day you have to be happy with the care that Noah is in, whether it be a nanny, fdc, childcare etc, so keep your options open until you find the perfect person/center for the job.

have been trying to help Hannah settle herself to sleep again. She was doing it for a couple of weeks, and then when school started and i was carrying her in the Hab it all changed. I put her in the cot happy and give her a toy to play with. Once she starts getting really tired, she gets really upset. I just can't bear to hear her cry like that, so i end up rocking her to sleep. It doens't take long.
I guess i'm just going to have to get used to waking through the night with her - at least i get some nice cuddle time (and i can watch Bridezillas on fox lol )

Hi everyone - K has been very 'farty' lately, which is quite unusual for her. I still burp after each feed and she still has lots of little vomits through the day. Any ideas? There has been a few times when she's unsettled the last few nights and she popped a couple out before falling asleep again.

Pregpan - have a great time in Melbourne.

Leanne - hope you get some good sleep tonight in preparation for that weekend! Sounds busy, but fun.

Jaz - hope Hannah gets the hang of falling asleep for you soon.

We had an hour of screaming last night, nothing would settle her. I put Bonjella on her gums but it made no difference. Even holding her and walking around her room made no difference to the decibel level. I think we're going to have a slight change to the evening routine, might make quiet play time in her room rather than the lounge. The lounge is quiet (no TV) and dark, but she seems to hate her room in the late afternoon / evening. The moment we walk her out of the door she stops crying, starts again when we take her back in. I hope having nice stories in there will make it more attractive.
