Gracie I loved it when DH would just take us on a spontaneous trip out for lunch. We don't do it much now though. I can't remember the last time we bathed our dog properly. She swims in the dam a lot and we do treat her for fleas etc, so we aren't neglecting her (JIC you all though we were LOL) but I can gurantee when we have bathed her properly, she will run away and find the nearest dead sheep to roll around in and come back smelling worse *spew*

Arte, we had a MCHN appt last wednesday and she is really up on all the new info coming out. She went to a seminar earlier in the month about infant led feeding (Kelly posted an article about it last week I think) and she thinks it really is the way to do it.

Oh, and you can keep calling me Sherie, just having a different user name makes it harder for people to put two and two together is all.

Gracie, lol about naming Lewis after a boat. DH spent a lot of his early years in a fireball. We were looking at getting one but got one with a bit more cabin and a cover instead because I thought it would be better if Will could be a bit more sheltered from the weather. We will only go out if it is calm and we will be going to a lake so it shouldn't get too rough. About the infant-led weaning, Kelly posted a thing in the BF/FF/solids forum about it a while ago, you can also google it and a few things come up.

Sherie, that is good that the MCN's are getting some info about it. I guess it will be a long time before it becomes an accepted practice though (if my mums reaction is anything to go by). Sorry to keep talking about it, I am starting to feel like a mormon trying to spread word lol

Eta Gracie, here is Kelly's thread https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...neccesary.html

thanks arte- i will google it and check it out, how does it work if they don't have teeth to chew though??
glad you understand the boat thing, my dp is obsessed with boats. he's out in the driveway playing around with one right now! luckily i get to name the next baby LOL otherwise we might end up with an everingham or something!

sherie- i know what you mean about the dog rolling in sh#t thing. why do they do that??? lol. mine always seems to find some duck sh%t and rub the side of her face in it. yuck@! that's part of why i had to take her for an extreme makeover!!! plus i've got the pita pil coming down this weekend and they always whinge about the dog being inside, even though she's OUR dog and it's OUR house, mil always puts in her 2cents worth!! ggrrrr

btw, did anyone happen to see a link on the aba website for a competition where they were looking for maternity wear models (top secret's next top model or something)? anyway, i sent off a couple of photos a couple of weeks ago and turns out we won....so we're off to a photoshoot at a winery on saturday. i'm modelling their breastfeeding tops (whilst bfing lewis) and i think it will end up in all their promo stuff (website etc.)

Sorry everyone I have been MIA for a few days...busy,busy,busy! Gotta keep it short because I'm at work.

OMG Gracie - You are so model material! Well done on the win! I love that pic of you and Lewis in the sling on FB.

Renee - I got all emotional reading your post about Rory saying mum! (at work!!) Yay, what a clever boy! I've seen your video on FB with him saying dad, amazing. Cant wait for the talking.

Leanne - 7 Months woo hoo!! Thats so cute about the boys and choccy cake, how gorgeous.

Sherie - Wow good idea with the name change, I can totally understand why.

Noni - Hope you feel better soon. Very nice of you to offer to care for your friends baby.

MD - Welcome back! We have the telescopic arms going here as well!

Arte - Sounds like your infant led weaning is going very well, good on you. Also re your neighbours, very sad indeed. I dont know what I'd do, some people do not deserve kids thats all I can say. Maybe if you witness it alot you can report them to docs??

Pregpan - Hope Noah's teeth pop through soon, poor love. Is he keeping you up at night?

Cally - How did the sweet potato go? I had a bit of trouble until we tried sweet potato, she loved it and is taking to different foods much easier now so hopefully it'll be the same for you.

Katie & Ella - Hi girls!!!

We are on two meals a day and 4 x 180ml bottles. Is there anything wrong with giving a baby weetbix for breakfast? I've been doing it for the past 2 days, she chows it down! Then she has her sweet potato sometimes mixed with pumpkin for tea. Might try some brocolli later this week. I'm really starting to love feeding Maddie solids and making it all up for her. DP is really getting into it too.

YES!! I am over saying 'no pulling mummy's hair, it hurts'. And she pinches. And she occasionally lunges for your nose and bites it!! It used to be funny before those teeth popped through!! The hair pulling is also worse when she tired or upset and it's hard not to get frustrated with her when I'm trying to calm her down.

Gracie - well done, will have to let us know when the pictures appear.

MD - telescopic arms are definitely in this household. I think things are out of reach when she's in the bebepod but somehow she grabs them.

She's started moving a bit, I put her on her tummy today, left the room for a short while and she had ended up on her back, 180 degrees spin on her tummy, under the coffee table. She was just lying there, looking at the 'Made in Taiwan' sticker!!

Hayley - didn't end up with sweet potato, remembered how long it had been in the pantry for! She had some avocado instead, I put it in a mesh bag and she was much more interested in the plastic handle! Will give the cereal a few more goes and then might just go straight to finger food stuff.

Gracie - glad you had a nice day with DP home.

K didn't want her afternoon nap so we ended up going for a walk and she didn't fall asleep until about 6 in the pram. She'd been up for hours so needed something, hopefully she's not up for hours! DH and I both need some sleep.

Can hear shrieking coming from 'quiet storytime' in the bedroom so better go and investigate what is so exciting!
