Pregpan- Hope you are feeling better soon.
Noni-Hope you too are feeling better soon. re: Formula- You do what you feel most comfortable doing. For me its is just easier to do what I did the boys as its what I feel most comfortable doing. I think its a wonderful thing you did by offering babysitting. RE FDC renting- I know that up here you can be a FDC mother and rent too. My cousin had her son with a FDC Mother that was renting.

Sherie- where are you going on your Holiday?
    Renee- Congratulations to Rory
Cally- Congratulations to K for her teeth

Oh My Bubba is 7mths old today....

Have a wonderful day to all.

Whooohooo Rory said mum 3 times this morning! I was so excited I started screaming 'MUM MUM MUM' and he didnt say it again haha! Mum, Dad & Bub, im so proud of him I get all emotional!

Cally - Have you tried the rice cereal with bananna & Pear?? Rory has the raffertys cereal and he LOVES it! I think Noni & Sherie use it too. Fingers crossed K doesnt get sick too.

Art - Jeepers! Look out world here comes WILL! He is a real little mover and shaker is he. Gosh, so clever! The solids are working for you and Will so dont worry about what other people think/say, your doing the right thing.

Pregpan - Hope your feel better soon hun. I hope the FDC works out for you and Noah. Poor Noah, I hope those toothy pegs pop up soon.

Sherie - Rory has been saying dadda for the past 2 weeks. He has been tormenting me with 'dadda dad dad' when ever I try to teach him mum haha. I put the video of it on facebook hehe. Where are you going away?? OoOO I bet the kids are excited about their new winter outfits. I remember getting new winter outfits, it was better than christmas!!

Gracie - How is our little Lewis doing?? Has he got anymore teeth through??

Noni - Whoooaaa what a lovely thing to offer! I bet she was over the moon When is she going to get back to you??? Have you heard about the house you had an application on?? Has Asha got any teeth coming through? I remember you saying she was goozying alot haha. I was worried too about switching to step2 but Rory had no problems.

Booking our Phuket belated honeymoon holiday tonight. Dont know if I can go through with it though....now its actually happening. Leaving Rory for 6 nights...I dont know. And I know that Im not really okay with it because Im too ashamed to tell anyone we are going by ourself. I feel like a bad mum...I really do. ahhhhhhhhh

renee - i offered through email when she was talking to me about a few things she was having trouble with through email so havnt heard back yet have to wait and see what she thinks about the whole thing.. i kinda have a feeling she will feel werid about it but you could put that down to my self confidence problems lol.. i did say there was no pressure and not to be afraid to say no in the email and that i wont be offended because i wouldnt want her to feel pressured into saying yes just because she knows me..
no teeth yet shes kinda on and off one day rosey cheeks and lots of chewing the next day back to normal its very confusing!!
re the house - we were denied the first one.. the second one is complicated lol i rang her this morning and she said she really liked our application but she thinks the boss from their second office might have already told someone they could have it.. so she is waiting to hear back from him and if he hasnt put someone in it we are first in line its so frustrating to hear we have the best application but still might not get a house grrrr.. oh well if we dnt get it since she thought the app was good maybe she has something else she can offer us.. who knows its all very stressfull!!
congrats on him saying mum!! what a clever boy, gee i really feel like asha is behind sometimes reading whate everyone elses bubs are doing, i know shes one of the younger ones though..
re the honeymoon, dnt feel guilty its your honeymoon!! if your really not comfortable with it though maybe put it off for a while because u'll just spend the whole time feeling guilty and worrying about it and not end up having a good time iykwim?? but i deffinately dnt think ur a bad mum for going 6 nights will fly past!!

Hi everyone I'm baa-aaack! Hey TRILLIAN seems like there's a new mysterious person in our thread hahaha

Ella I was absolutely DELIGHTED to hear from you again...that's excellent that DH has been spending so much time at home, hope he's converted to the joys of work-life balance now

OK, well can't stay long, gotta go de-flea the cat and wash the dog who've come home from their holidays all stinky and infested . H is much better now, bit horribly overtired though. We've decided to ride the holiday unsettledness as a catalyst for putting E into the cot in her own room. It's two steps away from our room so we'll see how her mummy copes with that tonight.

Just wanted to say how exciting all these developmental milestones are - teethies and talking, and pulling up and crawling! Lots of proud mummies . E hasn't had any new ones during our week away except for growing telescopic arms LOL. She sees the thing she wants and contorts her whole body to get at it!

Aaaaawwww Renee, I got all teary too when they said Mum or Dad for the first time.

We are going to have a day or two with my grandparents and then another day or two just travelling around, doing the tourist thing.

Marydean! glad to hear you got home safely, albeit with a tired H. Did the cat and dog stay at a kennel? I would be so livid if I were you - the last thing you need when you come home from holidays is to spend time delousing the pets. Fingers crossed you go alright tonight without E

Yeah, I'm using the rafferty's cereal and puree. I really like how it mixes and actually looks like a cereal and not wallpaper paste like heinz cereal did. Once he is used to food I will just move onto finger foods and follow baby-led feeding this time.

Renee, I am officially jealous! Well done Rory!

Leemar, glad you had a good holiday

Trillian (feels weird calling you something different lol), the infant led weaning is going really well for us. I usually give him 3 or 4 different things to munch on and he sits in his highchair at the table with us while we eat. He makes lots of yum noises and will sit still with something hanging out of his mouth for ages until DH or I look over and comment on it lol If he puts too much in his mouth he will spit some out, he knows how much to swallow now and almost never gags now. It is working so well for us, I don't know why there isn't more info on it - until a couple of weeks ago I though that babies HAD to have puree or they would choke.

MD, bummer about the cat and dog. I hope they weren't at a kennels, I would be very annoyed if my pets came back with fleas. Probably best to worm them too, if they have fleas then they may have picked up other parasites (I am sure you are already on to that though)

Gracie, do you take Lewis out on the boat? How is he? How do you keep him entertained? We just got a little boat but we haven't been out on it yet. DH was towing it to get a hydraulic line fixed and the hatch flew up and smashed the windscreen out. Not sure if insurance covers that when you have only owned it for a week lol.

Pregpan, hope you are feeling better and that N doesn't catch it. Last time I had a mystery flu like illness it turned out to be a baby lol

Noni, hope you get better in time to see your friend

DH will be home in a minute, better tidy so the house doesn't look like a sty

hi girls, hope we're having a nice afternoon. dp is home today so it's really nice- he's lit me a nice warm fire and took me up to the bakery for lunch for cappacino and vegie pie...ahhh, the things that get me excited these days LOL

renee- how's the 'mumma' word going with rory?? i'm very impressed that he can say 'dadda', all it seems like lewis can do is shreak like a girl! LOl no more teeth going on here, just the two bottom ones. i've been using those natural teething relief tablets and i find they're fantastic. really seem to make him feel better.

sherie- when i first saw your new name i thought it was trillian as in 'million, trillion, squillion' iykwim??? too funny!

noni- let us know about the fdc thing...that's something that i've actually thought about doing. i'm not sure how i feel about it though. would you need to get a fairly hefty public liability insurance cover going??

md- how's that smelly dog and cat going?? i took my dog 'spooky' to the beauty parlour last week for an 'extreme makeover' she got a wash, nail trim, ears cleaned out, feet and tail trim- the full works basically for $50. she was there for an hour and a half and when i picked her up she looked like a different dog!! she smells like sweet spring blossum

pregpan- glad to hear you might have a fdc option working out. how is it being back at work?

leanne - happy 7months olivia --oohhh that sounds so old!!

ohh hi there arte , the infant led weaning thing sounds cool. where did you get the info about it from?? yes we do take lewis on the boat but only when we're going really slow (i get the boys to drop us off at the beach if they want to speed or go for a ski) and always with his lifejacket on. he seems to really enjoy it, the motor noise and vibration always puts him to sleep. he was actually named after a boat (a lewis fireball that has been in the family for generations) so he has boating in his blood!

well i sold a change table on ebay and the lady is coming to get it on wednesday. she has 6 kids under 8 years old!!! poor love! the youngest is 6 weeks old.

Gracie I loved it when DH would just take us on a spontaneous trip out for lunch. We don't do it much now though. I can't remember the last time we bathed our dog properly. She swims in the dam a lot and we do treat her for fleas etc, so we aren't neglecting her (JIC you all though we were LOL) but I can gurantee when we have bathed her properly, she will run away and find the nearest dead sheep to roll around in and come back smelling worse *spew*

Arte, we had a MCHN appt last wednesday and she is really up on all the new info coming out. She went to a seminar earlier in the month about infant led feeding (Kelly posted an article about it last week I think) and she thinks it really is the way to do it.

Oh, and you can keep calling me Sherie, just having a different user name makes it harder for people to put two and two together is all.

Gracie, lol about naming Lewis after a boat. DH spent a lot of his early years in a fireball. We were looking at getting one but got one with a bit more cabin and a cover instead because I thought it would be better if Will could be a bit more sheltered from the weather. We will only go out if it is calm and we will be going to a lake so it shouldn't get too rough. About the infant-led weaning, Kelly posted a thing in the BF/FF/solids forum about it a while ago, you can also google it and a few things come up.

Sherie, that is good that the MCN's are getting some info about it. I guess it will be a long time before it becomes an accepted practice though (if my mums reaction is anything to go by). Sorry to keep talking about it, I am starting to feel like a mormon trying to spread word lol

thanks arte- i will google it and check it out, how does it work if they don't have teeth to chew though??
glad you understand the boat thing, my dp is obsessed with boats. he's out in the driveway playing around with one right now! luckily i get to name the next baby LOL otherwise we might end up with an everingham or something!

sherie- i know what you mean about the dog rolling in sh#t thing. why do they do that??? lol. mine always seems to find some duck sh%t and rub the side of her face in it. yuck@! that's part of why i had to take her for an extreme makeover!!! plus i've got the pita pil coming down this weekend and they always whinge about the dog being inside, even though she's OUR dog and it's OUR house, mil always puts in her 2cents worth!! ggrrrr

btw, did anyone happen to see a link on the aba website for a competition where they were looking for maternity wear models (top secret's next top model or something)? anyway, i sent off a couple of photos a couple of weeks ago and turns out we won....so we're off to a photoshoot at a winery on saturday. i'm modelling their breastfeeding tops (whilst bfing lewis) and i think it will end up in all their promo stuff (website etc.)

Sorry everyone I have been MIA for a few days...busy,busy,busy! Gotta keep it short because I'm at work.

OMG Gracie - You are so model material! Well done on the win! I love that pic of you and Lewis in the sling on FB.

Renee - I got all emotional reading your post about Rory saying mum! (at work!!) Yay, what a clever boy! I've seen your video on FB with him saying dad, amazing. Cant wait for the talking.

Leanne - 7 Months woo hoo!! Thats so cute about the boys and choccy cake, how gorgeous.

Sherie - Wow good idea with the name change, I can totally understand why.

Noni - Hope you feel better soon. Very nice of you to offer to care for your friends baby.

MD - Welcome back! We have the telescopic arms going here as well!

Arte - Sounds like your infant led weaning is going very well, good on you. Also re your neighbours, very sad indeed. I dont know what I'd do, some people do not deserve kids thats all I can say. Maybe if you witness it alot you can report them to docs??

Pregpan - Hope Noah's teeth pop through soon, poor love. Is he keeping you up at night?

Cally - How did the sweet potato go? I had a bit of trouble until we tried sweet potato, she loved it and is taking to different foods much easier now so hopefully it'll be the same for you.

Katie & Ella - Hi girls!!!

We are on two meals a day and 4 x 180ml bottles. Is there anything wrong with giving a baby weetbix for breakfast? I've been doing it for the past 2 days, she chows it down! Then she has her sweet potato sometimes mixed with pumpkin for tea. Might try some brocolli later this week. I'm really starting to love feeding Maddie solids and making it all up for her. DP is really getting into it too.

YES!! I am over saying 'no pulling mummy's hair, it hurts'. And she pinches. And she occasionally lunges for your nose and bites it!! It used to be funny before those teeth popped through!! The hair pulling is also worse when she tired or upset and it's hard not to get frustrated with her when I'm trying to calm her down.

Gracie - well done, will have to let us know when the pictures appear.

MD - telescopic arms are definitely in this household. I think things are out of reach when she's in the bebepod but somehow she grabs them.

She's started moving a bit, I put her on her tummy today, left the room for a short while and she had ended up on her back, 180 degrees spin on her tummy, under the coffee table. She was just lying there, looking at the 'Made in Taiwan' sticker!!

Hayley - didn't end up with sweet potato, remembered how long it had been in the pantry for! She had some avocado instead, I put it in a mesh bag and she was much more interested in the plastic handle! Will give the cereal a few more goes and then might just go straight to finger food stuff.

Gracie - glad you had a nice day with DP home.

K didn't want her afternoon nap so we ended up going for a walk and she didn't fall asleep until about 6 in the pram. She'd been up for hours so needed something, hopefully she's not up for hours! DH and I both need some sleep.

Can hear shrieking coming from 'quiet storytime' in the bedroom so better go and investigate what is so exciting!

Hello everyone. haven't been on for a few days. There have been a lot of posts to read

hayley, Ive found another working mummy on this thread! How many days a week do you work? I work 3 full days. It's not too bad as the days go fast but so do the 4days that I have off with bubba Charli hasn;t gone for my hair yet but she does like grabbing my face and my neck, and sometimes it really hurts!

Gracie, you could always try giving Lewis a little warm boiled water with half a teaspoon of brown sugar in it to see if that helps him with no. 2's. Thats what the hospital had recommended to us!

Arte, that's no good about your neighbours. Not sure what I would do either. If you see them doing stuff like that often though, I would seriously consider reporting them.

Trillian, cool new name Are any of us able to change our names? I'm thinking changing mine, especially as I wont always be just Charli's mumma

MD, are you glad to be home and have the comfort of your own bed again? Sounds like a good time to put E in her own room. It won't be too bad for you! Especially seeing as her room is so close. We actually decided to put Charli in her own room on the second night after we came home from hospital. we just could'nt fall asleep with her in our room and her room is right next to ours so I always heard her as soon as she cried.daddy never did though selective hearing perhaps!)

Noni, thats lovely that you have offered to look after that little boy! Boy Asha is really loving the solids isn't she? Sounds like she's going to be one of these kids that will eat everything!

Renee, GO Rory! What a cleaver little boy! Miss Charli hasn't said a word yet but she makes lots of noises. grunting when she's not impressed is one of the latest. She also loves blowing raspberries, it's sooo cute

Hello to everyone else and also hi to those I haven't met before.

Gracie yay on the win, I totally agree with Hayley......you are so model material. You will def have to let us know where we can see the pics once they are done. RE the solids Logan took a few days to poo after we started, I think it is just their gut adjusting. He now poo's almost every nappy (could be teeth though). Oh and boy are they smelly now its real food.

Cally lol at K looking at the made in Taiwan sticker. Ouch at the nose biting. Logan pulls hair when he is tired too.

Hayley I had to laugh when you said got to keep it short but it ended up a very decent length. We are trying Brocolli this week too.

Leanne did you get some photos of the boys covered in chocolate?

Noni thats so nice of you offering to look after your friends little one. I think you should have a look into FDC. I quit my job and got all the info etc and started getting everything organised then found out I was pregnant so I decided to wait. DH and I have been talking about me starting it soon though.

Renee your so lucky to have Rory saying mum, I cant wait till L can say it ( I would even be happy with dad lol)

MD how did you go with the animals? Good luck with getting E into the cot.

I bought up big at the farmers markets this weekend so I have a fridge full of food to freeze for Logan. Better go and start cutting up all the fruit and veg.
