yay Rainy!!!!! sooooo happy for you and i agree enjoy every chicken salt flavoured moment!!!
mm - we are having zucchini and carrot bake here tonight.. yummo!!
MD - so glad u got something useful out of QE2 and you are feeling more ok about when dH is away. was thinking of you all week.
ok will be back tomorrow - i have caught N's flu and feel awful (he is a lot better but a nasty cough lurking around) so not much energy to devote - sorry. DH has been so wonderful doing everything around here i feel bad being on the computer when i do have energy.
hope all is well with everyone. xxx
Gracie: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! ARRRGHHH how exciting!!!! i KNEW i'd miss the big announcement!! arrrgghhhh! oh well only a day late!
You do realise that i too will be living vicariously through you!! LOL!!
Oh, jeez, this is just fantastic knews. IKWYM about wanting to savour the pg. it's such a lovely special time (despite the fact the first 3 months are spent inspecting the inside of ones toilet bowl....lol!).
i'm doing a little dance and my cheeks are hurting from smiling sooo much!! congrats congrats congrats!!
phew, well, i had to get all my excited dancy vibes outta my system when i read Rainy's post, so didnt check out the other stuff!! LOL!!
so here tis,
MD: soooo good to have you back man! you do realise that you are a mainstay here!! we NEED you!!
that's really awesome news about getting some support, a really positive step forward. i too need to go the GP to do the evaluation for the medicare thingy...just need to find a GP which is going to be hard! we get like 5 free sessions a year or something isnt it???
JaZMum and Sherie: IKWYM! i look at leila and think, another would be nice down the track, but the chances are slim and am soo stoked that i got this little miracle...sooo am going to enjoy these precious moments of living vicariously through the girls on here and my other mums in group! LOL!
Rainy: IKWYM about the age thing. leila is very much interactive to the ultimate degree now...no longer happy with her own entertainment (at least not for too long) she is constantly following us around, and getting in to ALL the things that are the 'no no's'.
Arte: eeeek! snow!! oh well at least it makes having all that cold weather seem worthwhile...in canberra it would get disgustingly cold, you could smell and breathe the snow in the air, it would fall and NOT set...no joy! what does W think of it all??
ok, best be off as it is waay late and we have a play date for leila at 9.30am....waay too early for me...but thems the breaks.
p.s. pluto pups all round from this little QLDer!!! oh, and potato scallops!! LOL!
Congratulations Rainy Gracie!! haha I guessed the other day when you said you weren't ready again but you were feeling nauseous too! - it's wonderful wonderful news, and after all, you've got nine months to get used to the idea again! BTW I saw you were on line last night and lurked around hoping for an announcement but you made us all wait!
MD's 3 y.o. birthday suggestions - they are right into make believe at this age so anything that supports that - dress ups, hobby horse, fairy wings, tea set, etc. Lots of girls get lots of fairy gear at this age, my DD nearly drowned in goddam fairy books and stickers and sh*te, so I'd recommend avoiding that if you can! One thing my DD had around that age was her very own tape player with a microphone (from **** smiths I think) which she loved as she could play her read-aloud stories and sing along to playschool songs, etc.
Also, I meant to say, yes on E becoming more demanding at this age. It's like she knows what she wants and doesn't want now, whereas before she'd just go along with whatever was happening. She had a bit of a tantie today when we were putting her little snow suit on, too! Gonna be a strong willed little girl!
Pregpan I hope you are feeling better, you've had a run of being not so well too haven't you. Thanks for thinking of me during the week.
Sherie - Ah poor A's little bum! Poxy bum, that's not anything you ever want to happen!
Ange, Lala is sooo cute! Write that one down for posterity!
I think E is trying to assign words too. She's said a very particular "D" sound a few times when I ask if she wants a drink. Also starting to recognise lots of words. Waves on cue everytime she hears someone say 'bye' - even if it's not to her. She waved all day long at QE2 - everytime someone walked out of the room, off she'd go waving again. What a crack up!
Arte, does the road close to all vehicles or can you still get through with 4WDs or chains? That'd be tricky planning sometimes, wouldn't it. I guess millions of ppl live with snow all the time, it's just very exotic for us Aussies!
ETA - Clare - Aaaaaw what a sweeet thing to say Marydean the Mainstay! LOL The sessions I was told about is you can get a rebate on 2 lots of 6 sessions in each 12 mth period. The rebate is 70 something dollars each time, so it depends on how much they charge. I think I'll still be paying a gap of around 50 each time but you can't put a price on your wellbeing IMO.

Marydean, you're so right - its a small price to pay in the overall scheme of things isn't it? Miss E is soooo clever! I bet the staff just loved her.
Clare, never say never about another baby - you just don't know what the planets have in store for you I know several women who were told they couldn't at all or couldn't have more than one and they all have several babies.
Jaz, I think so too LOL you and I will be the ones sitting in the corner growing feathers and quietly going 'cluck cluck cluck' LMAO.
G, I agree with MD, fairy overkill at this age - you have no idea how many sets of fairy wings/wands/tutus these girls have had. I second MD's idea of either a tape/cd player or even a read-along book with the CD. The girls have a few fairy ones like that (they have to be Shirley Barber's fairys too ) and that I can handle because they are divine books.
hi all
thanks for asking - feeling quite a bit better today - lucky as we have a 2 yr old bday party to go to... cant really be bothered to tell you the truth.
kathmandu is having a sale and we are off to buy their baby carrier - think it will be good for doing some nice walks (like mt ainslie and red hill for the canberra knowledge ppl) and to take oseas...
i meanto to say MM N hasnt had antibiotics but i have been giving him inner health the last month since the gastro - i asked our gp about it as it said from 1 yr and he said just give a bit less than the dose (so i give about 1/4 tsp) as N is quite big!! (i forget how big maddie is) - i am sure it woul dbe ok for her. also you can buy live bio yoghurt which is what i have been using and adding fruit to it. thanks for the recipe - the bake went down a treat last night!!! i reckon you could add other vegies to it too like sweet pot or pot - yum!! i made a coconat bread this morning - delicious! we bought a coffee machine in the sales ( see a trend here) and so we had a delicious cafe style breakfast here in the homestead this morning.
N seems to have a little bit of nappy rash - the 1st time ever... i am using the weleda stuff so hope it clears soon/
Raniy - was my cousins daughter 3rd bday last weekend (when we went to syd) i bought her a scooter - it lights up when you ride it - it was on sale at toys r us for about $30 i think (i forget what your budget was). i also bought some other 3 yr olds (boy twins) a whole heaps of arts stuff the other week - i like the idea of something creative for them - paints, art paper, colouring books, play dough - you can get heaps of it for not too muich $$ - and the mum def commenred to me that it was a great pres and she can encourage some quiet play as well... so theres an idea from a novice!!
