Nina- Hi and Welcome
Clare- WTG L in swimming. Re the tonsils. Have you tried gargling will aspalgin or aspro I use to have it all the time and it really does work. Also a penicillian shot is really good too.
Art- Are they allowed to come into your house with out notice. I also like Sheries Idea too.
Sherie- OMG girl you are in the wars latley I mean with your ear and now Hives. Hope you get better soon
I hope I get over it soon too! Although I think Clare is giving me a run for my money with her tonsils It has been a really bad year for it this year it seems - my neighbour next door (well, she is about 5km away but their farm is next door to ours LOL) is on abs ATM for it, and there have been 6 children that I know who've had them out this year.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I finally got a sippy cup. It's a tommee tippee 'nuby' one for $5.95 and it's great! I got it online from pharmacydirect when I ordered some more formula for Alister and he seems to like it. Doesn't like the water I put in it though. It doesn't leak either and isn't all fancy schmancy so I wont be mucking around cleaning bungs etc like the other ones I have.
Renee - YES we were in the city on Sunday! Thats so funny!!! I asked DP if he remembered walking into someone but he doesnt, no suprise there hehe. We were with the outlaws shopping. What were you up to in the city?
Trillian - That is a bargain sippy cup, my tt one cost $17 odd dollars. Rip off!
Clare - M had conjunctivits a few weeks back and I found the same as Leanne, the over the counter chemist stuff doesnt work too well, but what the doc prescribed cleared it up overnight.
MD - I am so happy for you that E slept through. Well done E! You must have felt like a new woman the next morning.
Rainy - Oh no sorry to hear you are having sleep issues, its hard work. Are you extra tired yourself being in the early stages of pregnancy?
Noni - Hope you are feeling better soon. Straight after AF finishing...I doubt it so you should be fine.
Leanne - The boys will love the tractors. Wow your friend is a super mumma alright! Thanks for your reassurance re M's weight.
Cally - Hope Katie is better soon! M seems to go off her food when sick as well.
Arte - How annoying, the little brat. Ohhh no how embarrassing your undies hanging up for all to see hehe. I would have thought that they at least have to give you warning that someone is coming? Rude or what?!
Nina - Welcome!
Thanks everyone re your reassurances about M's weight!
Whinge time: I am SO tired. I dont know what I am doing wrong these days, M has gone from sleeping through the nights to waking every morning at 3/4am without fail and then on and off until she gets up at 7ish. Both DP and I feel like zombies lol. She has been doing this for almost a couple of months now and I have been giving in and offering a bottle which she takes every time. Do you think I've gotten her into a habit so she wakes for that bottle now? Anyone read the Pinky McKay sleep book and if so is it good?
Hi Hayley. Does she settle after the bottle or does it make no difference? I don't think she's gotten into the habit of having the bottle, but there is something waking her up. Is she cold or wet? does she have a belly pain?
Hi Sherie, yes after the bottle she is fine and usually sleeps well after that. She has a decent sized solids meal for dinner around 6 and lets me know when she has had enough, so she is full. I did initially think it was a growth spurt but its been going on so long now. Not cold, but by then her nappy is quite wet, this never bothered her before but now that she's older do you think that could be it? Where has my little sleeper gone!? lol
You could try just changing her, but if she is too awake, you still might need the bottle to get her back to sleep. Or you could get a booster to put in her nappy so it absorbs more before it feels wet to her. How regular is her pooing? Do you think that could be contributing if she is eating so well?
YAY YAY YAY to miss E for sleeping through for MD!! I bet that took you by surprise. If you're worried about your supply or her gaining weight (she was a bit low wasn't she?) then go for the dreamfeed overnight (but not too late so you get a decent sleep).
Welcome Nina! How's your little one going?
Trillian - oh, you poor thing with the hives, so itchy! Bargain on the sippy cup, well done. My heinz one has leaked a couple of times in the nappy bag so I might grab one of them next time I do an order.
Arte - if they go past a lot I'd call the police. If it's illegal to ride a bike without a helmet it definitely would be to ride one of those little motorbikes.
Clare - glad that L liked her swimming. K loves it, but boy it was cold on Monday. Yay for the 3 hour nap in the afternoon, that's a super effort. Do you sing lots of songs, K loves Duke of York.
K follows me into the bathroom each time. She loves hanging onto the bath and lately she wanders into the shower and giggles when she crawls away and I try to get her. I tend to use the main bathroom rather than the ensuite so it is drier and she doesn't get wet clothes. Must admit it is a bit disconcerting sitting on the toilet and having her pulling herself up on my legs! But then I've had the cat jump up on my lap and settle down there before.
K is fine, the cold is pretty much gone, hardly anything coming out of her nose, just a little vomit each morning. Any chance if her ear was sore she would vomit?
Noni - there is a very slim chance, best way is to get a test and check!
MD - I had a dream last night, I peeked in on DD and she was halfway down the outside of the cot about to hit the floor (for some reason she was sleeping in the bathroom), I managed to grab her before she hit the floor. I put it down to your worry about not lifting the side of the cot!
DH grabbed me at 3:30 this morning and woke me up, he must have been having a bad dream. Not impressed, took me over an hour to get back to sleep.
Accountant this afternoon for our tax - should be a good return this year and pay for all the landscaping we are doing plus some extra.
