yep i have had 2 afs since havin s now, which is weird cause with my first it took 6 months for my first one to come back,
so i had one 16th july, and one the 19th aug, so it just finished i was a bit annoyed i got it when i was goin away for our holiday on the gold coast for troys bday, but oh well least it came lol
S is still sleeping 12hrs a night without waking so im pleased about that, she was goin down at 5 waking at 5 sometimes later, but lately its been 6 till 6, so hope she keeps it up,
i need to try get her on her belly more and side more during the day the nurse said so thats hard cause all the swings and bouncers require them being on back,
oh well i told troy he is to play wit her lots while im at work and to make sure she not on her back but even if we put something behind her back and try let her have side time she just pushes back onto it so doesnt work. the nurse also said change sides when i feed her cause i always hold her in my left arm so lots of things to try change hope u all have a great day

Traylee - You can get a mat from Big W that is designed for tummy time. It is on $20 too. Are you enjoying working?

Cap - I wouldn't have been able to wait to do a test! You are way more patient then me. P is still off her reflux meds. The chiropractor gave me a different baby! She is down to fortnightly appts now as well.

I am having a shocker with Tiana and daycare. She doesn't want to go. It is awful, so I figured that I would pick her up early yesterday and she didn't want to leave! I had a hysterical child tantrum! I swear people thought I was beating her she was so loud. I really don't know what to do.

marni yes i am enhjoying work, its only 9am till 12 so only 3hrs, so its not taking alot of my time really, although thurs night we opened to now, so ill be working thurs 9 till 12 then 5 till 8, but i get mon off instead so long weekends for me so thats good also,
i wouldnt be happy if it was long days like 10hrs days or even 8hr days, but 3hrs flys buy and i get home and spend time with s, but at the same time its great cause troy has her those 3hrs so he gets time with her alone also so works both ways.

for those of you that have facebook could you please vote here for my pic, it tells you how to vote at the bottom
    thanks guys

    Hi Renee. And welcome!

I was thinking of buying DH a metal letting or something that can be engraved. That's always nice. Or hand/foot prints framed. We usually do a BBQ, or lunch and DH's favorite food.

We ended up going to kmart today. I've booked in Elijah at the Dr tomorrow. I'm a bit worried but not sure if she can do anything as he's so young. I know you can't give babies cough medicine until they're at least 2. He's got a rattley chest, but no green/yellow mucus....
My poor Elijah sounds terrible. I just hope it doesn't turn into croop
Hello sleepynolan & thank you for the welcome,

I was thinking of cuff links for Father's Day & engraving the backs...still not sure! I have booked DH & DS into a Father's Day Baby Sensory Class so that should be fun for them both.

About the cold - in the past few weeks both my DH & I have had the most dreadful cold (I still have it). Our Herbalist gave us a Homeopathic remedy called ABC that we give to DS so that he doesn't get sick with this kind of illness. He is also breastfeeding which I am sure helps.

The ABC is Aconite, Belladonna & Chamomilla. It is basically to be given when there are any signs of illness or fever. So far so good! I am not sure if you can pick this up as a pre-made tonic or if you would need to see a Homeopath or Herbalist????? I hope Elijah is better SOON.

Renee - Hi! Sorry I missed your post from the last page. When was your little boy born? What's his name? I'm Marni, 26 with 2 girls. Tiana is nearly 4 and Phoebe is 4 months on Monday. With Fathers Day I ordered a card from Hallmark that I personalised with the girls pictures and stuff. Not sure about present yet. Maybe some undies.

Sleepy - How did you go at the Dr? Hope E is improving already!

Phoebe seems to be developing a tendency to have one 1/2 hour sleep in the morning and then around lunchtime go down for about 3 hours. She will then have one more short nap in the afternoon. May not be what they say they should do but works for us! Bet it will all change when she has her needles on Tuesday though

    Hi.

Well the Dr says E has Croup (sp?) so we have a steroid medication he has to take for 3 days and some antibiotics too. So it's not good. We aren't sleeping very well either.

So all we can do is give him the medicine and panadol. She also said I can put Vicks on the bottom of his feet to help also.

At least Cooper didn't break his toe! So that was good news

Well I hope you're all enjoying your week, I wish I was getting more sleep, but not much I can do about it.

    Hi Strangers
Been a while since I logged in here. My internet at home is dodgy so I am at the library and Zen is sleeping peacefully so I think I just may have time to post!

Fathers day: this being our first one I wanted to do something special. I am sending DH with some mates to a car event 'powercruise' this sat. On the actual fathers day I have made a card with a poem I got off the net about fathers and sons and am placing Zens handprint on it. And I am giving him the iconic fathers day gift - old spice.

AF: still havent got mine. Hoping not to for a while longer...so nice without them. A few friends who Breast & bottle feed have had similar results..a little over the place at first.

Routine: Zen has put himself into a routine :O he basically wakes approx 6, I get him at 6.30 and he feeds between 6.30-7am then plays till around 8, sleeps for 20-30mins, wake and play, sleep approx 10am wake then feed.its gotten so I can keep him to it and go out easily. Although he now is awake until near 8pm each night - I have gotten uninterrupted sleep lately

solids: Zen has been placed on solids at the lunch feed. he is thriving on it. He grew 2cm in the last fortnight so that may be a reason hes been loving extra food!

Life in general: things have just been awesome for me & the little man.DH has taken him a couple of times & i'e gone shopping...went & had a massage etc. Being a mum is just the most awesome thing. I read some of your post on facebook & really feel for you with being sick & sick bubbas.

    hi all
I wrote a big post yesterday then accidentally closed the window before hitting send!

Welcome Renee! My bub was born on 18th May so I don't technically belong here but these guys were my belly buddies so I hung around

Sickness - Sorry to all of you who still have sick bubs/families. A, E and myself all had colds last week but thankfully they were mild. Sleepy - hope the meds help with croup. It's terrible when they're coughing and wheezy

Sleeping - E is doing great at night. Days are still hit and miss. She seems to have a couple of days of decent naps (maybe 1 or 2 1.5hrs and a shorter nap) and then has a few days of cat naps (20-30 mins). Doesn't seem to affect her night sleep or when she feeds, still every 3.5hrs or so.

Marni - sounds like May is doing great getting her own little routine. If it works for you guys, it must be right.

Tummy time - E isn't a huge fan but I still put her on her tummy a few times a day. She's not that strong in her arms/shoulders yet. We'll persevere without upsetting her too much.

Better go, A is in the garden, better make sure she's not up to no good

    Morning everyone

I've been slack....reading & not posting have been feeling like I'm getting mum's cold for a day or two then it goes away and comes back again, just wish it would make up it's mind as it's draining me. Luckily little A hasn't got it.

Renee - welcome to our little group, my DD was born on 22nd April (10 days early) but this was my belly buddies group and didn't want to leave them

Sleepy - oh you are having a rough run at the moment, poor little E hope the meds are helping and that he is feeling better and you manage to get some rest.

Caplay - YAY for AF showing up, not often we are happy about that lol.

Fathers day - thinking of taking DH on a picnic, we have a wedding the night before so who knows what state he's going to be in anyway lol, also thinking of getting him a digital photo frame loaded with some of the pics i've taken of A so far that he can take to work with him.

Hello to Marni, Tiff, Jleigh, Traylee BW, PM, Tina and anyone I've missed.

Well we are one step closer to the house being knocked down, power is being cut on Monday and then it's all systems go. We've done the selections for kitchen & bathrooms and I'm so excited but now I just have to wait.

We have a wedding next Saturday so I "have" to go and buy something new to wear, will be first time I'm leaving A for a long period of time and better get expressing so they have something to feed her

Phoenix - I am actually not going to a wedding cause I have Zen and no one I could leave him with for that period of time! well...not so much cant leave him as dont want to.
I dont think I would cope and at least once each day he wont settle for anyone but me so I couldnt risk it just yet. Am trying to get him used to settling without me holding him or touching him. Got the holding thing pretty down pat, rarely do that but I do sit next to him 3/4s of time and 'shhh' him while rubbing his tummy. Its daytime only - nights he self settles fantastically!
Any ideas on how to wean him off 'needing' me?
Oh crap - just remembered I forgot to go to the new mummies group been looking forward to it all week to. I dont really know anyone in our town so I thought it would be a great way to meet some women near my age, similar circumstances as well as acclimatise Zen to other people and children. Upside is its cold and windy so better to have him inside and warm.
we've cut back solids yesterday and prob not giving today, will see how he goes. His normal 20min catnaps today have been a good hr each time...maybe exhausted from all his growing

    Hi all

Tina - I know what you mean about not wanting to leave them. I'm a control freak and only left E with DH for half an hour for the first time a few weeks ago so I could go for a run. I haven't even tried her with a bottle so who knows what would happen if I wasn't here at feed time. DD1 wouldn't take a bottle at all until she was about 8 months and that was only sometimes from my MIL. I realised the other day that there hasn't been a single day since A was born (over 2 yrs ago now) that I haven't seen her and the only night I've spent away from her was the 1 night I was in hospital after having E. Crazy! Anyway, I don't think you need to wean him of needing you, just get him to accept that someone else is ok now and then

Phoenix - have fun clothes shopping. I can barely manage groceries at the moment! Hopefully it will be an enjoyable experience buying something for yourself and not a depressing one!

The weather has been beautiful in Perth today. I took the girls out for a big walk with the double pram and they both fell asleep. Bonus!

Cap - With Phoebe I just wait till she is tired and then give her a cuddle, pop her in her bed with her dummy and a kiss. If I get her before she is too tired she will just go to sleep. If not I might have to pat her bottom for a bit or give her more cuddles. Normally she is pretty good though.

    Phoenix - Have fun shopping!

Sleepy - Hope E is feeling better now! It must be awful hearing him coughing.

pmccask - Yay on both girls sleeping! Tiana is 4 so doesn't sleep!

Well I think we have hit another growth spurt. Phoebe had 4 30 min naps yesterday. That was it. She was just one very unhappy baby yesterday. Hoping that today is better! We are meant to be going out tonight but if she is like yesterday I will stay home and DH and Tiana can go.

Not quite sure what's happened with BB, but I am guessing something happened to all our posts from the last fortnight. I can't remember what anyone has said in that time, so will just start again.

Hi everyone! Hope you'e all doing well.

Boz is pretty much over his laryngitis. We've had a couple of rough nights - Sat Boz woke about every 45 mins from 11:30 til 4am, then Sunday was awake and screaming from 10pm til 2:30am, when DH and I gave up and put him in bed with us. He'd scream his little head off as soon as we'd go to put him down, and if he fell asleep in our arms, would wake again after less than a minute, screaming. The last two days have been better though, just a couple of quick trips. And this morning he's slept til just now (fed at 5:15am) so woo hoo for us!!! I think it's a natural developmental thing, and I've also been thinking teething as he's been screaming once or twice during the day for no reason whatsoever and doesn't stop when he's held for a while at least.

Has anyone else noticed a huuuuge variation in clothing sizes between brands? Boz is in 000 but some are so big they literally fall off him, while others are very snug. Pretty annoying cos I've bought a couple of outfits that, by the time they fit, it will be too cold for him to wear them!

Question, how do you know if bubs is hot? What are your little ones wearing at night now and what coverings are you using? Boz seems to be really hot when he goes to bed, but still has cold hands when he wakes but the rest of him is warm and he's happy.

Gotta go get my lovely little man up. Enjoy the beautiful weather everyone!

    Hi everyone

Jleigh - think there were some issues and posts lost. Glad to hear little B is finally starting to feel better, the poor little thing to be so sick.

Yeh I have no idea what's the go with clothe sizes, A is still in 000 for most things but has finally graduated to 00 growsuits - am a little said as she's been given some gorgeous 00 clothes which I think will be way too warm for summer.

At night it's still cold here and she is either in flanny PJ's or growsuit, singlet and growbag with a cotton blanket.......her hands are always like ice in the morning (not helped by the fact she sucks them) but in her body she is warm. I find if she gets too hot she wakes up constantly or is really restless.

Not much is happening here, we are off to Vic next week to visit DH's family. His sister is going to be down from QLD so all the little cousins will be together for the first time. I'm hoping this road trip is as easy as the first one where she slept the whole way but not liking my chances now she is older and more alert.......actually nosey is probably a better decription. She loves the car so that works in our favour

After being pretty wary about joining a mothers group (I'd heard all the horror stories) I've also been lucky with one I got sent to, we now meet fortnightly on Fridays at someones house and they are a great bunch. I've even caught up for coffee outside of it with one mum & her little girl who is a week older than A and also now catching up with school friends and old work mates that have young kids/babies. Living at mum's I get bored so easily, it's just not the same as being in your own house and it's good having at least one or two outings a week.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying lots of baby cuddles

Well B is sitting on my lap screaming his head off, has been for most of the day. Mostly I think he's tired but he won't sleep, not even in my arms (unless he's feeding). He outdid powertools today - the tradies complained!!!!
