No AF here either. But Phoebe still feeds 1-3 times overnight so maybe that is holding it off for me.

With the breastfeeding does anyone still have tender boobs? Like to lean on it really hurts?

Phoenix - had she flipped herself or slid and rolled? Isn't it funny how there personalities are coming out now! Phoebe will now reach and put her arms out to come to me!

Tina - Have fun camping. I'm sure you will have fun, I would rather cut my head off though lol. I am so not an outdoors person!!

Marni - I dont have sore boobs anymore, it was only for about the first week or so and now is only if Zen goes 7hrs between feeds (just starting to sleep through the night - kindof!), but that is just cause they are so full!

Morning everyone, hope you all had lovely weekends

Marni - No sore boobs here either, unless she actually sleeps at night and goes a few hours between feeds.

How are all your gorgeous little bubbas going?

A is sitting up, well for a few minutes at a time until she gets distracted by her toys, the dog or the tv and topples over, exciting but sad all at the same time - I'm losing my baby She also puts her hands out to me and smiles when she wants me to pick her up or rescue her from someone which I find adorable.

She seems to be liking solids a bit more now and scoffs it all she has two meals a day for breakfast & dinner......we have had a bit of a constipation issue which ended up needing a suppository (yuck - more for me lol) but that worked in about half hour and I made up pear & prune which she has for breakfast & loves and it works a treat to keep it all happening - boobs are still her food option of choice

So far no separation issues and I'm hoping it stays like that coz it makes it so much easier for me when DH is away to get a break and also when he's home so he can make the most of the time with her. She happily goes to anyone and everyone and when in a good mood happy to play by herself on her playmat or sit in her bouncer.

Well I better hit the shower and try and get A to have a morning nap (wish me luck) before I have to go out and get a heap of stuff done.

Hi everyone! We are back from our week away and B has grown sooooooo much! For a start, he rolls around his cot all the time and now wakes himself up because he's rolled onto his tummy and is propped up on his arms and looking around! Plus, he's enjoying his rice cereal now and will almost attack us to get to it in the morning! He's still warming to lunch/dinner (some days I do two meals, others I do three) but loves food from his sock, including banana and kiwi fruit. And finally, my little man has two teeth! Of course, that's brought with it lots of night waking, crying, cuddles and earlier and earlier feeds to try to settle. We were up 3 times last night, which was our best night for 5 nights - we were up from 12:30 - 4:30am two nights ago!

My mum's group met up for a Melbourne Cup lunch today, which was great. All the bubs were beautifully behaved and got dressed up too plus us mum's got to be a bit fancy!

We also had a 6 month session with the MCHN, who answered lots of our questions on solids, teething, sleeping and separation anxiety etc.

Glad to hear B isn't the only one not sleeping all night even though he once was! Hope everyone is well, talk more later...

    Hi all.

I have a question. my sister is 6 months pregnant, and had her 20 week scan yesterday. They were a little concerned about the neck measurements. She was 1/800 chance of down syndrome. She had to go to the hospital today, and got her new results and she is now 1/300 chance of DS. She is in Gladstone and they are sending her down here (Brisbane) to get another scan done. She says if it gets down to 1/100 it isn't good. Does anybody know the difference between the risks at 13 weeks with the NT scan and the 20 week scan? She is really worried. They have booked her in for this Tuesday.

I haven't been able to find anything on here about it so far...

Sleepy - Your sister sounds really worried, and understandably so. I don't know anything more, but I do know that 1 in 300 means she has a 299 in 300 chance of her bub not having Down Syndrome if it helps to look at it that way, and even 99 in 100 if it gets down to that. It will be a long few days for you all - I hope you're all OK and that you can find some more info.

Sleepy - big to you and your sister, hoping she gets down to Brisbane to have her scan really soon for some peace of mind and some answers. Will be thinking of you all over the next few days.

so am I missing a few pages/thread or have we not chatted on here for 10days?
Sleepy - how is your sister? did she get her scan done and is all ok? I <3 the way JLeigh looked at it - even the 1/100 gives her a 99% chance of a baby without DS.
Phoenix - Zen is just starting to be able to sit on his own also...its quite exciting to see as I love each new stage

Hi to everyone else - I think we all catch up on FB
AFM: Zen is going so well. He has started solids, has had potato, pumpkin, apple, banana, broccoli, avocado. I missed his meal yesterday and he didnt seem to care. he happily eats them but doesnt seem to fazed if he doesnt get them. Am trying to keep him to a routine of lunch feeds, about to start introducing breakfast. Means I need to get alot more organised
No crawling yet but can walk if he has something to hang onto, needs a tiny bit of help with balance

Tina - very quiet in here lately! I think you all FB so don't post in here anymore.

Hi to everyone, hope you're all doing well.

DS had his 6 month needles yesterday and has been fine. He's having 3 solid meals a day now, 1-2 tbs at each usually plus water, which he really likes. He's had rice cereal, potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, brocolli, peas, spinach, carrot, avocado, banana, apple, baby yoghurt plus kiwi and cucumber in his food sock. Oh, and chicken for the first time a few days ago! I am very proud of him. But yep Tina, I feel like 1/2 the day is feeding or preparing to feed, or cleaning up after a feed! The rolling is still an issue as it still wakes him up at night sometimes and yesterday I found him sitting up in the cot so will have to start putting the side right up.

And we're in cloth nappies during the day now! No leaks so far, yippee!

    Hi Everyone.

Well hasnt it been a quick 6 months? Time has just gone, I'm guessing because we have all been sooo busy - and facebooking...lol.

Elijah hasn't had his 6 month needles yet, but we will be doing it next week. We have been super busy lately, we are now looking for a new place to live sadly so looking for houses takes ALOT of time. So in between that, and cleaning and feeding and cleaning and bathing and cooking and more cleaning, there just insn't any time left int he day these days...but as time goes on, I'm sure that'll change!

E is now on 3 meals a day, and eating more chunkier foods too. He has 2 teeth down the bottom, about to break thru any day now, so thats exciting too. He is very mobile - not yet crawling, but he can get where he wants now, and it won't be long until he does start crawling I'm sure. He mostly uses his arms and pulls himself along the floor, he is just starting to get onto his knees, so it looks promising...

He is only waking once at nights now, I think it has something to do with him being mostly on bottles now..the formula fills him up for longer and with the food, its great. So I'm not complaining...

Well I hope you are all enjoying your little ones and having fun with it all!

I went shopping before and got some sweet potato, avocado, mango, zucchini and the other veg he has already had. Need to pull my finger out and organise his feeds etc better...poor little mite.
Gosh, am so tired now. Zen is asleep, might go nap with him lol

i usually do a big vege cook up. Then mash it and freeze it. Sometimes I add sauces from our food, like Spaghetti Bolognaise sauce. The other week I added a small amout of Rogan Josh sauce from a very mild curry. And last week I added a whole cooked sausage before I blended it..he loved it!

He is still having custards for lunch and baby porridge for breakfast. I wish he could have sandwiches or toast...lol, but not yet. But he is doing really well, still not sold on the water idea tho.....lol

I've given Zen water in a bottle and he doesnt mind it - will eat/drink anything just like his dad. Am going to start giving water in a sipper cup today. I stupidly used some of the water from the pototoes when I blended them so I had to throw the whole lot cause they tasted like starch...couldnt make him eat them...so gross!
am going to try zucchini and mango (not together!) today. Its exciting to watch his face as he gets new flavours and experiences...still loves the boob though, its his favourite place to be lol. I fed him this morn and hadnt pulled my singlet back into place so Ive sat him up and he reached out, both hands on my boob then leaned in and latched back on...big grin up at me lol...so proud of himself!
We aren;t giving Zen any custards - unless I make them from scratch, we are trying to use no processed baby foods, means more work for me but since I am home all day with him I have no excuse for not getting it done.
I'm loving being a mum more then I thought possible. He is such a good baby, well, little boy now!Our idea of him acting up is what most of our friends call a 'normal' baby lol
Hope you are all enjoying the first 6mths and looking forward to the next 6
    xo

Tina - You're doing great, don't be so hard on yourself! I usually cook about twice a week and do a bit of a mix e.g. spinach and peas on Monday and freeze it in icecubes. Then I just mix and match for meals e.g. a spinach and peas with a sweet potato, or brocolli with pumpkin and carrot!

Sleepy - E must be super happy with all that yummy food!

JLeigh - He is a very happy baby! He is soo good! He woke twice last night because he had his bottle a bit too early I think. We went to look at a house, and waited for an hour in the car, with our 4 kids, and everything was out of whack coz of it. The real estate lady didnt' even show up....it was strange. So we had to rush home and make dinner and get everything done, an hour later than usual!

We are still looking for houses, but its very stressful when DH and I don't agree on a house, and to have everything we need is very hard too...with a teenager and 3 younger boys! A 4 bedroom house with double garage and built-in robes is soo hard to find at a good price! And I know we can have any place we apply for, we have an excellent history, its just finding that perfect house! SO HARD TO DO!

Hope you are all having a great day!

Oh and Tina - Don't worry too much with the processed foods - I'm sure he'll get plenty of them when he gets older - junk foods and stuff are full of them...lol
