Thanks for your thoughts girls. I am still unsure... I will probably chat to the GP about it. At this rate we may well be going to see her again during the week.
Great news about itunes, Krystie. I have found them to be helpful in the past too with getting a voucher activated.
Re the earrings, I don't want to offend anyone but I am not a fan. I don't get cross with others for choosing it for their kid but I wouldn't and haven't with my girls. Natty has asked me about them and I have said she can have them done when she's older. (Basically when she's old enough not to play around with them and to take responsibility for the decision herself.) She doesn't hassle me about it though because she remembers VERY clearly what it feels like to have needles and she asked me if it was similar. I said that it was - that they very quickly push an earring into your ear and it does hurt for a little while. On that basis she's quite happy to wait for now, LOL! Her best buddy has earrings which is why she asked me about it.
I personally see it as purely cosmetic and it's really not that important to me whether or not they have them and I can't see how it could be important to a little kid. And then when they are bigger (and btw, I know plenty of women who don't have earrings and tbh I've been tempted to remove mine in the past!) they can make the decision and own it for themselves. (I chose to pierce my ear at the top cartilage when I was 17 and I did it without my parents knowing. It was liberating and entirely my decision and I loved that earring - it totally represented my independence. It hurt like a biatch though! LOL. But the pain was great as it was my decision. Not that the girls would have to wait til they were 17, but you get my drift I hope.)
Understand though that that's just my perspective and what you choose for your kid is of course your decision and something I'd never criticise.
