Sounds like that will be an awesome opportunity Cass!
Well Mum and Dad are on their way down with my niece. She's having a two night visit with us. She's done occasional sleepovers with my parents before, so bedtime tonight could be interesting when her parents are 2.5 hours away!!
MD - hugs, it's so good you made the effort to get up there last year.
Arte - I have the first season of Glee still waiting for me to view
she wrote back and wants to meet YAY!!! i am pretty excited and she said that she was excited at the prospect as my stuff sounds like it complements her well (she is looking to mentor a person to take over her role ITMS). eeeeeeekkkkkk!
Cally: oh wow, you are sooo going to have a two giggling girties (sp?) on your hands tonight lol! going to be fun though!
MD, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I know even living away and not seeing them very often it still stings when they are gone.
My Nana hasn't been gone a year yet and her house has been removed so they can build a block of flats on the section. I couldn't bear to drive past and see the corner empty - she lived in that house for nearly 80 years!
Cally, good luck! K and your niece are lucky to have each other so close in age, that will be very cool for them as they grow up.
Cass, the job sounds like it was meant to be!
Trill, Kev is 18th June. So looking forward to it - mostly a whole night in a bed by myself with a sleep in!
Ginger, sleep improved but not the magic cure I was hoping for. At least I have a back up if things turn to custard while DH is away.
DH's 30th birthday tomorrow so the kids made a pinata for him. I don't usually do crazy messy activities - took forever to clean up! Not sure if it will work, trying to dry it in front of the fire tonight.
Cass I'm completely stoked for you! I was fascinated by that Oprah episode, and added the book to my mental to-read list. You'll have to fill us in as to how it all goes when you meet her. Synchronicity at work.
Hmmm I thought I replied in here the other day..... maybe I didn't lol.
Hugs MD, I am sorry for your families loss.
OMG Cass what an amazing opportunity, sounds like it is meant to be.
Arte how did the pinata turn out?
MP how is the new job going?
Cally how did the sleep over go? Did they get much sleep?
Not much happening here. L has gone great with the night TT and had no accidents. He is also doing poo's on the toilet everyday with only a handful of accidents over the last 2 weeks.
Oz, just stuffed the pinata with some freddo frogs (cos what 30 year old man doesn't want a pinata filled with freddo's lol). Just need to figure out a way to hang it and hopefully it will work. W will be happy if he gets to whack anything with a big stick!
Yay for the night training! It is nice to say good bye to nappies!
We are also doing an icecream cake for DH tonight - couldn't be bothered making a cake because I know that I end up eating it all anyway, so I got a viennetta ice cream thing, some choc sauce and sprinkles. W will have fun making it. Somehow our birthdays have become all about the kids??
The two little girls had lots of fun but luckily bedtime went well and there were no dramas. And they both slept all night which was good. My niece became very posessive of her lunch box which had snacks for her and K to share and wouldn't let go of it all afternoon, even fell asleep with it so mum's plan was a big morning tea and then hopefully she will be able to use both hands.
Arte - Kev is on my birthday!! And I think it is because they get so much fun out of birthdays.
Cass - woohoo on the job prospect!!
Great morning today - dropped my work car key into a sewer. Luckily it landed in a bucket and was able to be retrieved, but I still feel pretty gross. That car's going back on Monday which is a good thing - will try and be more careful with the next one.....
Cally: yeah, let's hope you avoid any sewer drops next time haha! eewwww lol!
AFM: today has been lovely...DH and I have celebrated 10 years together today (although i have noted a distinct lack of small packaged gifts...in fact, a distinct lack of gift at all...ah well).
But i am pretty chuffed that i managed to find him some very cool australiana plates (DH collects 1920s and 1930s tourist plates...you know the ones with pics of beaches/bridges/lookouts etc).
Cally I would be sending the keys for another swim - this time in a vat of aquium gel (this girl's best handbag friend). Missy E is very particular about her lunchbox too.
Cass - congratulations on your 10 years together! Commisserations on the distinct lack of sparkly pressies in tiny boxes. xxx The plates sound fastastic, I bet your DH is totally chuffed.
Arte - see, that's why I never wanted to "share" my birthday with DD2. LOL The pinata sounds great - did your DH totally dig all those chocolate frogs?
Oz, yeah I'm pretty sure I remember you posting a couple of days ago too. Well done with the night TTing. We seem to be regressing on that front - E is very aware of when she is wearing a pullup and when she is not, but I CBF'd going without them and dealing with the extra laundry in what is now approaching high winter.
Well girls it's been a challenging few days for me as I confront the reality of how ****ed my study situation is. My psych has very gently suggested to me that I should apply for a disability status at the uni so that I can access special consideration. I have cried gallons ever since, but I'm coming around to the idea that if I can admit how bad it is and how sub-functional i really have been all this time, then that will be the start of being able to fix it. Whereas if I keep avoiding it and pretending that all is ok, that will just prolong the pain. The psych is fabulous and really experienced dealing with all the complexities of "chemobrain", fatigue, grief, and depression that ride along in the wake of a cancer encounter. So this is a GOOD THING, even though it feels like I'm in choppy waters right now.
MD, The special consideration sounds like a good idea. Cancer is a scary thing, I don't imagine you can just forget about it when the treatment is done. I am glad you are getting some help. I wish I had something good to say to make it better for you
Oz, I didn't reply the other day because sometimes it isn't helpful for the world to brag about how easy something is when you are having issues with it. Like when I have had a run of **** nights and the MG ladies are telling me how their kids slept through since before they were conceived or something. W has been day TT for over a year now and night TT since Christmas. It was something that we had an easy ride for for which I am very grateful. It sounds like L has finally turned a corner on it though, you must be really happy about that!
Lol I thought I posted to say thanks for the lovely comments re Z weaning. Maybe I didn't actually hit post though.... I have a habit of doing that lol.
Arte glad the pinata was a hit. Its so great not having nappies anymore, I just wish I had done it sooner lol.
Cass congrats on 10 years, such a big milestone. Poo to not receiving something nice and sparkly though.
Cally I am not sure I could have touched those keys lol.
MD I think applying so you can have special consideration is a good idea. I guess most people don't realise that the effects of cancer don't just end once your cancer free, its great that your seeing a psych.
Not much on here this weekend, I have a maternity session today and DH is working all weekend so its just me and the kids. Might get out some paint while the sun is out. What is everyone else up to?
W and DH have gone up to one of the mountain huts for the night. Apparently the walk up there went alright (about 3 hours) and they were at the hut with the fire going last I heard. That will be lots of fun for them.
