Shell Ash and Em really do look so alike. The way J has been acting you wouldn't want him in your family. I hope you didn't think he acted up too much at ash's party.
Nai G and J really are polar opposites in look. But both really pretty girls in different ways. I must say G is stunning. And such a lovely little girl.

I am not having a good time right now. VERY upset about J's behaviour and feeling very unsupported. It has been 2 years since my cousin lost her full term baby. I think I get more upset with each passing year. I can't even imagine how my cousin is going. I really can't move on from her loss. And it wasn't even my baby.
Having panic attacks again. Just not going well.

Meg- J was great, didn't think he played up at all, think my nephew enjoyed playing with him.
I can't believe the 2 yr anniversary has come up with your cousins baby. Have you spoken to councillor or anyone about it?

Lilima - I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Maybe talking to someone like a counsellor will help......thinking of you.

    Shell
    - yuck on the gastro. I think DS has had that too but he was going long periods between spewing. No spew now for a couple of days so it's over. Hope yours nicks off soon too. Seems like lots of people have it. Am less tired now than I was between April and August when he was regularly waking multiple times a night and taking 1/2 to 2 and a 1/2 hours to re-settle each time. Tonight he doesn't seem to want to sleep, been a bit of a pattern lately in the evenings again. Panadol is my friend as it seems to be the only thing that works. He's still awake in there now.

Nai - at big heads!! DS's head is quite large too and he loves looking at it in the mirror

AFU DS has been a bit unsettled and weird since he started vomiting on Sat night. Much more quiet, less chatty/smiley, more prone to crying and clinging (even in care where he is normally quite well distracted and having too much fun to be grouchy). Not sure what is going on. Don't have typical signs of teething and he hasn't vomited in a couple of days now. I want my happy boy back! Bit worried as I don't know what's going on, he's not obviously sick anymore but not himself either. We have his 18month review with the CFHN next week so will see how he is by then. Work has been really full on lately too, just in terms of dealing with colleague dramas/difficult personalities and also the type of clients I've been seeing have been pretty complex and difficult. Also, DP is really sick so I'm doing most of the work at home and in terms of DS. It's not his fault but still extra stress for me and I'm worried about him too. Plus I have a sore throat and feel like I'm fighting some kind of cold.
Wow, what a whinge-fest!! lol. Things are generally ok and I am feeling alright in myself. Definitely noticing the extra sleep over the last month, even though it's still broken every night.

    Hey ladies,

So sorry I'm a bad buddy at the moment - I do read everything but its hard to get on and reply, I'm lost in a world of BF and screaming toddlers!

Kaz - how's Mr J going? Gastro has definitely been doing the rounds... hope he is feeling better soon and back to his chirpy self!

Meg - you know I'm struggling with I's behaviour ATM as well, I know how hard it can be. I am at least feeling a bit of support - DH has been here this week which has been great, its been quiet at work. But its still tough. Can you get some support? What about an occasional care, just so you can have a time out from him? I use my IL's for a bit of time out... I find it makes me better able to handle DD.

As for your cousin, I can't believe its been two years either. I think talking to someone would definitely be a good idea...

Shell - how's ya bum? I am allowed to poke fun because I've been thru it too although our version of gastro involved more Poor little DS is still struggling with it ATM... thought it had passed but then just now he had another bout of vomitting... which in turn lead to me having to get completely changed, including undies, everything was soaked eww.

Glad the MRI was all clear! What does a balance test involve??

I'm up for a Melb meet - can we go somewhere enclosed so that DD doesn't run off on me? She does that a bit... oh and at least you ladies all know about my dramas with her behaviour so you'll be a bit more sympathetic if she attempts to administer the "hug of death" on one of your lot...

AFU: We've had a rip-snorter of a few days here. We're all still recovering from gastro etc... me Thurs/Fri, then DH Sat/Sun, then little DS yesterday... DD wakes up with goopy eyes Tuesday, seems ok yesterday but goopy again today... and she has been an absolute exhausting bundle of WHINGE since about Monday.

DH (thank GOD) has been really quiet at work so has taken all this week off, which has been great because I seriously don't think I would have coped with her on my own. She has just been pushing every single boundary, not sleeping well, miserable because of her eyes and whatever else and just not happy.

Every nappy change is a fight. Most attempts at eating are a fight. Getting dressed is a fight. Getting to sleep is a fight. Her favourite word is NO and it is always said loudly and with definite meaning. She basically incapacitates one of us, as we have to be with her constantly to make sure she isn't into something she shouldn't be.

Worst is that she hits Xander - I think because she knows it'll get an immediate reaction from both of us. We're wise to her now though and we simply move him out of her reach when she gets into a mood.

Today was the worst - she had a really broken night's sleep, our fault as we were out at my parent's house, normally she goes down fine there as we've been there at least once a week if not more since she was born, then we go home around 9 or 10pm, and she stays asleep, normally. Not last night. She woke then refused to go to sleep when we got home. Eventually did, was awake off and on all night and awake for good at 6am. Completely beside herself though and by about 8am we'd given her some panadol (she kept saying her eyes were "ow") and she fell asleep on DH on the couch. Put her in bed, she slept and seemed brighter when she woke. However as the day wore on, she got ratty again but refused to have another sleep. Eventually crashed on DH again at 4.30pm and when she woke around 5.15pm she was DELIRIOUS.

Screamed, cried, tried to hit and bite both me and DH when we tried to cuddle her better, told me to go away when I offered to just sit on the floor with her until she calmed down. She ended up in her room, on the floor, just screaming. It was terrible - we didn't know what to do.

Eventually got her to have some more panadol around 6pm and it was like we'd flipped a switch - she brightened up immediately. We don't know why - maybe pain, maybe teething?? Don't know but it was horrible. We just couldn't comfort her.

She's in bed now, took a while to settle and has already been awake twice since then. I think we're in for a long night...

The only positive ATM is that last night, DS had a feed at about 6.30pm, a massive vomit fountain spew at about 7pm, fell asleep about 8.30pm (without another feed) and slept right through til 5.30am Tonight he's had a feed, another vomit fountain, another feed and asleep again by 8.30pm so he's falling into an awesome pattern. Now if only DD would sleep!!!!!

Update: DD is now on the couch watching the Footy Show with DH. Alternating between grizzling and sitting quietly. Sigh!

Sorry that turned into such a long rant!

    Hi girls... wow

    Lilliama -

OP - you certainly have your hands full.

Gastro has gone through here to, as well as a cold on top of it - was really weird.

Still have to take alex for his 18mth check up (and he's 19mths now)... although when he went to get his 18mth check up he's just passed 10kg - still in size 0 clothes, beginning to wonder if he will ever grow big!

Have started to go to the gym four days a week - mostly so i get time to myself (for an hour) while Alex gets to socialise with other kids - enforced fitness! I tried one childcare place but they said it was almost impossible to get him in at his age, which is why I go to the gym!

Struggling here a bit at the moment, but I'm just chugging my way through it, because I know things are going to get better.

Alex is so cute and very helpful - he packs the dishwasher (usually with clean pots and pans, apples and clothes), likes to sweep and mop the floor (and the cats if they aren't fast enough). he will also mop the carpet and then sweep the wet floor. he helped me wash the car the other day (gets sponge out, wipes the car down, mum rinses car, then the sponge comes out again to rewash the car). He loves to be helpful and he loves to watch me cook tea and always wants to be where the action is.

i think tomorrow we will go for a walk through the local mall before we go to the gym, because he's usually asleep in the pram by the time i leave.

Oh and the non-routine baby finally has a routine! And he is still really difficult to get to sleep - i.e. i only get one chance at it.

OP - sounds tough mate. No advice but plenty of

Malayna - Great to hear from you! Whoot on going to the gym so regularly.

olive - his bed is one of those cot-converts-into-toddler-bed thingos. He doesn't have a pillow. I'd been planning to wait until he is 2. Do you think a pillow would help?

Oh dear I really need to catch up. I have been a bad Bbuddie.

Lilima- I hope you can see someone.

Kaz- Sorry to hear about the sleep probs. DD is now in a toddler bed and she stays in it. Maybe its worth a go with J? He might just have really bad feelings about his cot and associate it with crying and waking. Maybe a change in sleep environment might help? DD has been sleeping with a pillow for a long time now. She loves her pillow and I think it helps her. I know I cant sleep without one. You can get toddler pillows but I just got the thinest pillow from Kmart. Think it was $5.00.

Malyna- That is good you are spending some time on you at the gym. SO important and will help with energy levels and good endorphins running through your body.

OP- Sounds like you are doing it tough with Miss I at the moment. DD cracks massive tantrums at the moment. So bad that it sends our dog off the wall! I mean he starts howling!!!! I dont know what is worse as they set each other off! I really think it is the age. I dont even have another baby to look after soI cant imagine how you are coping. Just dont feel bad shutting the door and walking away. SOmetimes you have to do it so that you can stay in control and save your sanity.

Olive- OMG the dotor told me today that one of the rashes DD has was called salicalyates. They are improving but he didnt tell me it was from food/allergy. Grrr maybe I need to go back. I just looked it up!

Shell- Good luck this weekend with the footy.

Hope all those with sickness/gastro are on the mend.

AFM- Proposal story is in my blog if you click on the link in my sig, it will be the current blog post. I did post on BB the story but it got wiped with the 2 week thingy that happened.
DD's nappy rash improving. No wipes or creams allowed. Only salt water washes and nappy free time.
Had 18mth needle today. Soped quite well esp with a jelly baby afterwards. Weighs 11.5kg and is 81cm tall/short LOL!

Must go do some cleanin whilst DD is asleep.

    : to all

    Hi ladies

Bit of a woohoo for us - DD had a big 3hr nap today, slept quite late so we didn't put her down at 7, instead put her down at 8pm, but she went to sleep without a peep! No getting out of bed, no crying, no calling out. Woo!

Who knows why?? But here's hoping it continues...

    Hi Peoples,
I have been under an enormous amount of stress for a few things that I don't go into in here, but there is a thread about it if you want to go read,.

How is everyone? It has been ages since I have managed to get in here.

E seems to have really hit a new set of devt milestones. She is just in to everything. She is so funny on the trampoline, bouncing around! and her level of understanding and language is just enormous.

Shell and Holly - Hope you are feeling ok about today's results.

Nai - What age can you start putting the little ones on a balance bike? was thinking of giving one to E for her 2nd birthday, but is that too young?

2 weeks till we go to Brisbane. YAY. I really need it.

olive - I really hope all those illness rack off soon hun. It totally sucks how constant the bugs have been in your place lately!

lilima - glad you have a holiday planned hun.

Shell and Holly - many many

Ali - Will def go and read your story! I can't work out how to comment in your blog though have tried before apparently without luck. Glad DD's rash is clearing.

OP - Miss I and DS are on the same wavelength!! He has slept through the past two nights :crossfinger: for tonight. He has also had late and long sleeps (after long morning sleeps too) the past couple of days and then is going down later than usual. Tonight he played up for about 45 mins, nothing severe and it's all quiet in there.
Hun I'm reading 'The no cry discipline solution' atm by same woman who wrote 'No cry sleep solution'. It has some great strategies for managing behaviours. A lot of it reads like common sense but I am finding it good to be reminded and there's some new ideas in there too. Just a thought re: Miss I.

AFU - DS had his shots yesterday. The appt was last week but he had a bad cold so we delayed them. No crying but he did give the CFHN a filthy look She said the reaction might take 7-10 days to appear. He is going well atm. Everyone from the CFHN, my mum, friends and total strangers have been commenting about how "busy" he is. I was getting a bit worried but now I just figure that it's a good thing he has heaps of energy and wants to check everything out. I have noticed that the girls in my mum's group are a bit calmer while DS just tears around the place pushing things and crashing on purpose!!
DP is really sick atm. We don't know what's going on. He's been unwell for weeks and weeks and isn't getting any better. Waiting on tests atm.
