Happy New Year!!! It's hard to believe we were all getting our BFPs around thus time last year. I got mine on 6 Jan so was very hungover this time a year ago. LOL

Just had to report that my cat napper, actually Day Sleep Fighter, has returned. She's sleeping so well at night (slept til 7.15 this morning - happy new year!) that I can't really complain. It's just hard when she gets so upset as she's overtired. This generally happens at the end of the day so she is quite content the rest of the day. There are a few girls on BB with 4 month olds going through the same thing at the moment. Check out the other September thread.

We had a pretty relaxed new year with our friends who are also new parents. We had a BBQ at one of their houses next door so we didn't have far to go home, lol, so I enjoyed a few Oyster Bay wines. Was lovely. DH and I actually watched some of the Sydney fireworks on TV at midnight so I can say I saw the new year come in. Super late night for us!!

I borrowed baby scales off our neighbours yesterday to see how much milk Izzy is getting and was pleasantly surprised to find she got just over 100ml off each side during her first feed for the day! I then weighed her during her last feed for the day and she only took just over 80mls total. That explains why she takes her top up off formula each night. It was so interesting to get that info after all my feeding dramas. It was nice to know that I seem to producing enough.

Sanchez- I am just going off advice from CHN, friends and that's just the schedule we ended up having. He is downing 6 bottles a day of about 180-240mls. He always downs 240mls at his first morning feed. He is nearly into the toddler nappies! We will buy the next size up once we've finished the crawler ones we have.

Frazer is preferring to play with his food lately since his bottom left tooth has broken through. The right one you can see under the skin and looks like it will be ready to emerge really soon. Funny thing is, I didn't even notice it until he started chopping down on my finger. He has had his Amber necklace on since xmas eve and we have been using the Hylands teething tablets. He is happy as Larry!! which is a surprise after the hell we had while he had thrush. He sometimes tosses and turns at night (literally) lately which I would attribute to teething. DH came home last night and he was the top of the bed, had managed to roll onto his back and was asleep there!! He has perfected the army crawl so we now can't leave him in our bed to sleep unless surrounded by pillows. And if you try and put him down to sleep can walk in 2 mins later to check on him he could be anywhere in his cot, up the top, on his side, or sideways!!! My little boy just doesn't wanna stay little anymore.

Hope everyone had a decent New Year. DH had a gig and I was left by myself so I had a Scrubs S7 marathon had a couple of drinkies, watched the 4 sets of fireworks you can see from our backyard and went to bed at the reasonable hr of 12.45pm. Not too long after my bed time anyway. We're night owls in our house. Now that DH is on holidays we are spending most days sleeping in to at least midday. Lovin' it!!

Been busy in here, sorry I can't seem to keep up... I keep up with my facebook but that's about it. I'll keep it quick so you don't have to read through a whole heap of dribble!

I don't have a whole heap to report really... I'm sure you all don't want blow by blow details on Emilys feed and sleep patterns, very yawnworthy! Basically, she sleeps 12 hours at night and is packing on weight (6.6kgs). Getting cuter every day and I love watching her learn and grow. Developmental-wise, she rolls over front to back and back to front, she giggles properly now which is very cute, she's almost sitting up by herself and has learnt how to push buttons. She can also turn in circles on her activity mat and bounce her jolly jumper like a pro. She recently discovered her feet and hasn't left them alone since.

Besides that, DF's roster is supposed to be changing back to 1 week on, 1 week off which will be awesome as at the moment I feel like a single mother. We are moving to a tiny country town in March for DF's job so i'll be a big fish in a little pond, but cannot wait to have him home EVERY night. Wedding is approaching sooner than i'd like, 15 weeks 2 days to go and still much to do but i'll get there.

Oh and the car seat debate, I think do whatever works best for you, and what you feel is in the best interests of your family... don't let anyone's opinions make you feel as though you are doing the wrong thing. Every decision is made for a reason and with due thought given. I happily put Emily to sleep on her tummy for every sleep despite all the advice about how this is a bad thing to do.... and she is still with me. Even if I watched a YouTube video of full of SIDS/tummy sleeping advice I would still put her to sleep on her tummy bacause that's what works best for us. Just because she sleeps on her tummy doesn't mean she'll die of SIDS, and just because some babies go forward facing before others, doesn't mean they are going to die in a car accident. I can't wait for Emily to hit the KG requirements to put her seat front facing, rear facing is a PITA to get her in and out of... the sooner it happens, the better!

No one needs to explain or justify their parenting decisions. It's good to discuss these things though as, in my opinion, we can learn from each other and possibly find out something we hadn't considered. That was my intention and Olive's I'm sure as well. We're not here to judge each other, that's what MILs are for! LOL

I'm beginning to wonder if there is a tooth on it's way at our house. Izzy has been quite out of sorts during the day and woke up screaming in pain. It could have been wind I guess but it was strange for her. She normally chats away happily in her cot when she wakes so it was really out of character. It's definitely one way to wake your parents from a nice sleep! A translation button would be nice sometimes

Izzy came so close to rolling from back to front yesterday. I reckon she'll master it this week. She's getting so frustrated trying that she cries sometimes. I have a determined little terror on my hands.

Think we'll try out the jumperoo today as Izzy's favourite thing is standing. She loves it! The jumperoo is kind of a cross between a jolly jumper and an activity station. I think she'll love it. We have a jolly jumper but don't have a doorway (with a frame) in view from the living area. Will have to try it out in our bedroom one day. Jolly jumpers are great fun

We have the same problem of no suitable doorways... we got the portable frame so she can play in the loungeroom or on the back patio if we're outside.... great idea! You can get them from Babies 'R' Us or Babies Galore

How big is the frame Janine? I had thought about getting one but am wondering if I could just use the frame from out hammock. I think that stands at 1.3 mtrs. Being able to take it outside would be good
