i have also had issewes with trying to upload pics on the BB gallery. managed only a couple and dont know why they worked and the others didnt. very strange. i'll also try to upload to PB and post a link! FB is a bit of a PITA with uploading pics at the moment too which is frustrating! as all the family in italy are demanding almost daily updates lol.

Cherished: ha ha, dont worry about the tears when DH comes home...we've had a few too i remember a couple of weeks back when Marta cried like allllll day (i think i posted in here about it) and there was nothing i could do. man was my confidence rattled to its bones. she finally crashed out at like 9pm and then did her longest ever sleep too...maybe it's a developmental thing? because since then she has been a much more consistent sleeper

i want Jenny Craig to cook my meals!!!!!! i am being norti and cooking all kinds of creamy based foods lol. last night was a curry, teh night before a carbonara the night before that tuna potato bake....ie not nice to the thighs meals lol. ah well....another time haha.

AFM: poor marta has a cold...again! the joys of having an older child at kindy i guess. poor wee poppet is quite crook and needs lots and lots of cuddles. she slept all day yesterday which was actually quite worrying as i was wanting to just boob her up to boost her system. but i have to say that i am sooo glad that i didnt get her vaccinated the other night. i think it may of been too much for her little body. hopefully she is back on track next week.
a funny thing though is that i have started putting hair clips in her hair!! so awesome! she has sooo much hair....hmmm must take a picture of that!

hair clips how cute! I really ant a buba girl to dress up with girly stuff one day. Maybe the crying is developmental, thankfully DS slept well again last night and I only got up 2 times to feed him so woohooo. Such a shame about the cold that Melbourne weather probably isn't helping either.

On the vaccination front is anyone else not vaccinating? Cass it sounds like you are but what about you other mums? DH and I didnt' give DS the hep B or Vit K and we are not going to do the others either but are instead giving him homeopathic stuff. I hope I don't open a can of worms buy asking, I know many people feel strongly either way.

AFM the house is a bit of a mess. I would like to rearrange the furniture again but dh's back is a bit iffy so we will leave it for another day I think. Maybe I'd better crack out that sewing machine!

no can of worms here lol! we do only selective or delayed vaccinations. so no hep b or vit k at birth and no rotavirus or MMR. we did this with DD1 as well. we got a few comments from MCHNs but overall have been left to our own choices.

Milly congrats on the great news about bubba!! I'd be counting down the weeks, days and hours til bath time... Not that it's mummy time, it is strictly Daddy-Daughter time, no mummies allowed, has been since she was born I love it, I sneak peeks at DP and he's so in love!

Cas not good about bubba being sick, I thought A was getting cold, but nothing turned out, think it was just something in the air...

Cherished I have those days too, just so happens it's usually the days DP has TAFE after work and I'm all alone for the night, those are the nights were we're bathed by 4.30pm, both in our PJ's by 5pm, bub fed and mummy eating crap in our room lol

I'm guessing the eating crap hasn't helped with the weightloss either.. I am so glad it's not just me going nuts about their weight. I get that we have just had a baby but I feel like I shouldn't be this size anymore. I'm devo coz I had to go and BUY NEW PANTS coz all mine don't fit as well as I want, don't like the muffing top, and well my mat clothes are WAY TOO BIG for me now.. Had a cry as we do... I just remember my SIL losing so much just by breastfeeding and nothing else. She ate crap good, didn't excersice and well it just fell off her. I go for a 40min walk at least 3times a week with bubs, get fairly well most days lol, and breastfeeding, and I feel like I haven't lost anything, granted I haven't weighed myself, but the clothes, you can tell with what you wear, I feel like nothing has changed.. SO ANNOYING, what makes it worse is DP and I are getting married March 2012, and at the beginning of the year I tried on a gorgeous dress, which I think is the one, in a size 10, now there is no way in hell and I mean in hell could I fit it in now, so I can't go dress shopping and I just keep thinking will I ever get back to that size again...

Sorry it's a sore point for me, I worked my butt off to get to a certain look, not weight necessarily, just look that I felt comfortable with, then with the m/c and bubba everything has changed lol, I'm not blaming bubba, oh god no, but I just feel like I worked so hard to feel good about myself, that now I have to rethink how I look, because I am not the same person anymore, in a good way, but different, so I have to learn to love me in my own skin..

back to the subject.. immunisations right?? lol

We're getting bub's needles tomorrow, and we've done all the others the docs recommonded.. In saying that though we have quite a few families at work that have chosen not to immunise their children, I don't really see the big fuss in it all. It's a personal choice between parents on what they feel is best for their child... It's funny you mentioned it because I was watching Sunrise, and about Kochie's comments... He is very, umm, open about his opinions in regards to this subject, I think I put that nicely enough... I was going to ask the same question but didn't want the 'worms to get out' either...

I love that us girls can talk openly about our choices and not be critized for them...

AFM: Nothing much to report on the bubba front, heaps of smiles, trying very hard to giggle cant wait for that day .... I put her in her bumbo the other day sooo cute, she has great head control, awesome stuff, but she's still soooo tiny..

I can't remember if I mentioned her measurements for her 6wk check up - I gotta laugh she was still the size of an average newborn... 54cm long, weigh 4.4kgs, head c/c 36.5cm - my neice born a day earlier than A was 53cm long, 4.2kgs, head c/c 35cm - LMAO - Bubba is so small still, but yet she has grown soo much!! Wonder what she will be tomorrow YAY!!

Howdy girls. Another good day here today, bub is in bed at 7 and has been sleeping 5-6 hours wehn he 1st goes down so I am going to head ot bed after posting to get a big sleep in myself. Today I didn't go for my walk but I did clean the house so I thin that counts.

HPL I didn't see what Kochie said but I imagine it was pro vaccination. I saw Mel interviewing someone one day about chicken pox vac and misinformed the public about vaccination being something that you 'have to' do so I imagine whoever writes their stuff allows Kochie to rant about his pro vac view. I totally agree with everything you said about weight. I feel totally the same way and as I've said before very disappointed about eh weight I put on with the mc's I remember being at my heaviest and it was not long after one of the losses and we went to a friends wedding and they announced she was pregnant and due when I would have been... needless to say I got drunk lol What are you going to do differently to loose the weight if it's not coming off? Some people are lucky that it does just fall off, I tell dh that 'it's not fair that I have weight issues' and he tells me that it's not fair to everyone else that I am so beautiful such a sweetie pie, always making me feel better. I'd say that most of the mums in my parent group look really good and you wouldn't even know they had the baby! Next pg I am totally watching what I eat! DS is also still small, some of his size 0000 cloths are nearly too small but others are still fitting well... Babies clothes are no exception the different sizing rule for different brands which is annoying! It's not like you can try on the baby clothes in the store like we can anyway he is still little and adorable with his smiles. I keep thinking too that some babies are his size when they are born

Speaking of the next pg is anyone else really wanting another baby already? Straight after our great birth I wanted another bub... when I got home for the 1st couple of weeks in that crazy haze I still wanted another one and now I really still do want to be pregnant again. I really hope bub stays so wonderful and in 6 months time I still feel this way and ttc and then get pregnant and have a girl. Yep that's my plan

Cherished love your baby plan!! We're the same, straight after A's birth we looked at each other and went " yep let's do this again" :-D can't wait for another A is so good, it's unbelievable to most just how good she is... We're gonna start ttc on our honeymoon which is 16mths away lol hope I can hold out that long.....

DP keeps telling me how beautiful I am, and how much he loves me, which is so sweet but I need to love me and feel beautiful before I start to believe it... I've hit rock bottom though, just weighed myself turns out I've put weight ON since having A so that sux, but it's definately the kick upp the a** I needed!!

My plan is: bub wake at 5am feed her change her, back to bed - dad still sleep - mum get dressed and walk/run for 30-40mins... Or bub sleep - wake at 8-9 then feed again then go together for walk... Here's the thing though I feel like when I come back I can't just sit and breath for a sec coz there's all the house work to do, the cooking and also my TAFE work... Aarrhhhhh now you guys are seeing the real side of me - scary I know - I better go before u start a new thread and not tell me lol

bahahahhha I don't think that will happen! we love ya gal it can be tough can't it. At least you have a plan but if you want my advice (even though you haven't asked for it) I'd say to make sure you are enjoying the activity you are doing otherwise it will feel like such a chore and you may end up feeling resentful kwim I'd also recommend the taking bub with you in the pram option cause then at least you are entertaining bub during awake time and it's a win win. I also feel like I need to do the house work but thankfully our house always looks pretty clean even when it's messy as we don't have too much clutter around if that makes sense. It does annoy me when the floor is dirty though.

our house is messy AND dirty i cracked it today because DH only vacuumed 2 days ago and already there are dog hair snowballs. seriously it is bugging me no end. i swear that she never used to be this hairy!!!! and the toddler...omg, she is a tornado. the moment you clean up her stuff she gets so excited about seeing her toys all neatly arranged that she has to play with all of them..all at the same time lol. i am now looking at her bookshelf where she went to read one book this morning and the entire contents has spilled across the floor...

gosh, i have no real exercise plan in place yet...i am a 'gunna-do' lol. although my plan to swim on thursdays does look possible. drop DD1 off at kindy park the car and swim at uni (which is what i did when pg).

AFM: bit of a restless night for poor marta what with all the snot interfering with her breathing. luckily we have a fess snot sucker on hand as it was my saving grace in the wee hours. she was up hourly until 10pm but then managed a pretty good stretch until 2.30am (her usual wakeup time when put to bed at 6.30). then up again at 5.30 due to snot overload lol.

*omg!!!* i am lying here on the floor above marta's head typing away and she is chatting away to me...obviously she wanted more face to face contact cause she is trying to ROLL she is propping her leg up and trying to push over!! then when she is on her side she starts laughing lol.

Yay for Marta almost rolling over!! Audrey loves belly time and can lift her head pretty well but no signs of rolling, she moves from one end of her mat to the other tho - my gosh she has strong legs - not so much upper body hehehe

I sat her in her bumbo today, soooo cute she looked so tiny too!!

Quick question before bed - teething - I cut my first tooth at 3mths my DP at 4mths, bubs had temps 37.8 drooling fist in mouth - biting my nipples - Crying more - all the tell tale signs if teething - but she's only 2mths old :-( please tell your bubbas are the same - I'm not ready for teething yet LMAO!!!

Hi Girls!

Sorry I haven't been I here in a while. I haven't been on BB much lately.

'm glad I'm not alone with the crying isues. brock is still quite unsettled at times. And he still usually wakes twice a night. I think I was spoilt with Charli as she slept through form 11 weeks but I cannot see Brock doing that any time soon.

RE: vaccinations. I have been selective also. We didn't give the hep B at birth. But I did give the Vit K as I kinda figured it's not a "vaccination" as such and I saw the merit in why it's given. Brock has had his 2 month vaccinations and thankfully had no side effects whatsoever. I am still undecided about the MMR though. If I do give that one we might delay it. I agree with HPL that it's a totally personal decision and that parents should be able to do what they think is right for their own children without criticism.

As for wanting another baby. I SOOOO want to be pregnant again! I am having a hard time convincing DH to go for a 3rd though.

Cas I find that bub also gets a little vocal if he's sitting next to me but I'm not talking to him or looking at him and honestly I feel a little bad if I'm appearing to ignore him too. I know I'm not but he must be wondering why I'm not looking at him kwim? Our house also seems to get dirty quicker than usual especially the floor... no idea why though! :Wall:

HPL no teething here but I'm going to start putting the amber necklace on soon. DS also loves tummy time and has always been really strong, he'd much prefer to be on his tummy than back.

MamaS I think you're doing well with only 2 times a night. There have only been a few times where I've only gotten up 2 times and they were heaven. It was every 3 hours then went to 4-5hours and then every 3 hours but last night I was back to every 3 hours as he got woken up by a creaky door during his 1st sleep which is usually the bigger sleep so wont be making that mistake again!

AFM SOOOO in love with DS he just lights up my day. I'm loving the breastfeeding and when he looks up at me it's just beautiful. I don't have anything to compare him too but I think he's really good baby, doesn't really cry that much (so far... touch wood). Parents group was a little weird on Tuesday, it's hard when there are a bunch of woman put together and they all talk non stop, I couldn't really have a proper conversation with anyone kwim. My sewing project is getting there, yesterday I started trying to figure out the sewing machine, who'd of thought it'd be so tricky to get all the setting right and to know which sttich to use for what etc I want to have it sorted by the end of the day! And how happy am I today having lost 2.1kg in the last week

HPL: no, no teething here! but DD1 was a late bloomer lol. she only got her first tooth at 11 months lol....so somehow i dont think we are in that zone yet. i missed the part about your honeymoon!! ohh a honeymoon baby would be nice! are guys getting married? or is this a belated honeymoon trip??

MamaS: oh we still have moments of 'lady cranky pants' in the house lol. fortunately not so much anymore, but when she cracks it, she really cracks it IYKWIM.
we are also still mostly on 2 wakeups a night. there were about 3.5 weeks there where it was only once (at around 2.30am) but she got another cold and has been needing a few extra feeds. it's amazing how after a good run one crazy night can knock you about! i was like a zombie lol!

give DH some time babe...he'll get there! i reckon they can get all overwhelmed with the enormity of it all at times (as we all do i guess!)...but once Brock starts to do all that cool older baby stuff who could resist not having another lol????

Cherished: yeah our MG can get like that too lol. especially as we now are nearing the mark of having 20ish children (we are all onto our second). when the kids were babies though we used to introduce ourselves by each of us briefly giving a synopsis of our week with bubs (ie, sleeping, where did you go etc etc). i always looked forward to it as it was a good way to share, vent and celebrate.
when are you putting on the amber necklace? i want to buy it as a xmas present for Marta, so was thinking around then?? or should i start earlier??

AFM: well i now have the snot monster! Marta loves to share hahaha! so am feeling REALLY tired. not to mention that i am also taking some homeopathics that my Dr in Italy has given me for the boob thrush. man, it is amazing. here i was taking all these massive scary pills and gel with NO result, then i take two small granules a day for 3 days from the homeopath and BANG. thrush GONE! of course i am feeling really gross as you are not allowed to brush your teeth. apparently mint and licquorice 'kill' the drugs...so no garlic for me lol.

Can I ask a silly questions - What's an Amber Necklace? I've never heard of that before...

Cass: DP proposed to me on our Anniversary this year, which is New Years - we were planning our wedding and then found out we were pregnant!! It was a lovely suprise, as we had decided not to try after our m/c and just see where things would take us, in fact I was coming to terms with not trying again for a year, so it was really a wonderful gift... Turns out though I had been pregnant for a littlebit, we found out when I was almost 10wks...so we postponed the wedding until 10th March 2012, so we could save the $$, bubs be a bit older, me to lose weight LMAO - so we are planning for this bubs to be around 2 1/2yrs when number 2 is born, fingers crossed toliet trained as well!!

Well as for the teething front had a good look around this morning and we have 2, yes you read correct 2 white bumps on her bottom gums, when mummy runs her fingers over them she howls!! First thought maybe not teeth, maybe an infection, but no their hard - so starts the joys of teething!!

HPL: an amber teething necklace is just that! a necklace that bubs wears 24/7 basically that can really help with the symptoms of teething. i have a feeling that it also just helps with the 'chill' atmosphere in general. they are specially designed for babies to prevent choking hazards etc, do a google and check em out!

Fuzzy: sleep is still pretty up in the air here for us. although i have to say that it is much better than i had thought it would be. DD1 was sleeping through fairly consistently at this age (go down at 6.30pm and wake at 4.30am for a quick feed then down again until 7am) but she was a good feeder and in her own room (which tbh i think can really make the difference for some kids). i find that we are doing pretty awesome with DD2 considering that she is bunking down with us in our room. i had expected it to be alot harder but thankfully she is not afraid of catching the zzz's and is a quick feeder when she does wake. i also have taken to not changing her nappy unless totally necessary (but we are in disposables at night which lets that one work well lol).
my plan though is to have her move into Leila's room soon. i am thinking in a couple of months. they shared together when we were on holidays the other week and did really well....

AFM: still snotville here. but managed to pull off a BBQ despite the torrential downpour! pulled out the smoke alarm though 8 kids, 17 adults

Thanks for your advice re: DH and the possibility of a 3rd Child. I think you're right. I think he'll come around. He does worry though that our place isn't big enough (it's a 3 bedder) but I don't see the problem with 2 of the kids having to share just like Leila and Marta will be. In fact I think it probably does them good . It would be brilliant if we had another boy as the 2 would be close-ish in age, but if we had another girl and there was a 5 year age gap do you think that's too much of an age gap for them to share a room? I guess while they're little not really but once they got to tweens/teens it could cause a few issues, lol. But hopefully we'd be in a bigger place well and truely by then anyway.

we are pretty good here. late night last night what with the BBQ, but had a lovely time. today is the midwives summer picnic at our local park. so should be awesome to catch up with everyone and hopefully i'll get to meet some BB girls as they are having HBs through the same group (although one is due about now...so hopefully she is off having a baby lol)
