I helped things along - first of all offered different drinks and a cuddle from daddy in the middle of the night...then the daytime feeds kinda naturally shrunk as she was going to FDC and having sippy cups of milk there - so we got to the point where it was just mornings & afternoons. With DD1 I kept up the morning feed and night feed ...eventually she got busy enough that she wasn't interested anymore. So I helped it along but then she finally decided she'd had enough, the feeds got shorter and shorter and that was it. With Missy E we were pretty much down to morning & night feeds, then I was having gallstone attacks & taking drugs for that so I would avoid feeding her when I was under the influence - and then just distracted with her with other drinks to wean her by the time I had surgery. DD1 remembered & talked about BFing for a long time afterwards but Missy E doesn't seem to even remember, even tho she weaned only 2 months or so earlier.
