When was your bub's first overnight stay??....

Krystal stayed with the PIL on new years eve.. it wasnt planned, but they watched her for a few hours, then said she is welcomed to stay. she was 18 months old, and i missed her like crazy! but i did enjoy the full night sleep (which she will only do, once a month maybe) but i was so ready to go pick her up on new years day!!

makon is 2.5 and still hasnt had a sleep over..... one day i will cut the strings( maybe when hes off for his honey moon!)

We haven't left Ellie overnight yet - even though we have had plenty of offers and I know her grandparents are dying to have her stay over!

But you guys should go for it Tan, especially seeing as gumnut will be here before you know it! I bet you will go and pick her up super early anyway

No overnight stays here either, although Jambin isn't quite 12 months yet. He's a bit of a mummy's boy though, and doesn't like being away from me at all, so I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving him with anyone overnight. I might feel differently if they looked after him in our house, but I'm not sure.

DD was three months. She was home for just over two months and after not sleeping for what felt like 90% of the time, we droped her at my mom's house and went to catch a movie and had a lovely romatic dinner and SLEPT THROUGH!!!!!
we were up before daybreak, just eager as hell to go pick her up. But we had the most glorious night's sleep.

Go for it, your mom raised you, and surely you can trust her with your most precious bundle for one night

PMSL I hear ya!! Oskar still sleeps in our room and also hasn't had a sleepover yet and no plans for it to happen soon either.

Well we have decided that we are going to leave her at mums for the night tomorrow - eeeeeeekk!

DP and I both got the flu really badly last July and we were unable to move so my mum took DD for 2 nights then. It wasn't planned but it was cetainly necessary!! We weren't even able to enjoy our childfree time we were so sick

Oh Tan, it's hard isn't it. DD had her first sleep over when she was about 18 months old. We had a wedding to travel too, children not invited etc.. so left her with my parents which was only half an hour from where we were staying.
It was so hard for both of us, we were wondering if she was ok, were my mum and dad ok? We left early the next morning to get back to her.
Even now, DD is 8, and when we leave her to do a day trip away shopping and MIL picks her up from school, we still worry! DH, I think is worse than me, he walks around all the toys/games and finds something that he thinks she will just love. It so cute that he misses her as much as I. We get in the car and it's so quiet, we actually have to stop and remember that we haven't left her behind LOL. Ok, enough babble from me.

I say go for it. oops, just noticed you posted you are doing it! Good on you. Hope you have a great night out and don't worry too much

Riley still hasn't stayed anywhere overnight and he is nearly 2, but that is partly cause my mum died 6 years ago and he obviously won't ever stay with her like his sisters did. Jess was about 2 I guess and Erin probably a bit younger but that was only with my mum no one else!

We left DD for the first time when she was 4 weeks old - we had a wedding to go to, 3 weeks later we had another one so she was left with my mum twice before she was 2 months old! She survived and so did we, altho my boobs almost didnt depsite expressing lots even in the carpark at the wedding receptions!

Gosh I think Zander was about 6 weeks old when he had his first sleep over! He had bad reflux & didn't sleep more than an hour at a time for the first six months of his life so we needed it! Having said that, my parents are next door so it's not like h was far away.

DD was about 2, and DS hasn't yet.
But it's NOT because I don't want to!
My mother doesn't live close to us, she took DD for 2 days about a year ago because we had to go to a funeral out west and we couldn't bear the thought of driving 12 hours in two days with a 2yo. It was fine.
If my mum lived near us I'd have no problem.
If your little one is used to your mum's house and used to her bed there I'd go for it. The first time is probably the hardest but don't feel guilty, you guys deserve a break and some couple time
