Im not even going to pretend i have a hope in hell of catching up after being off line since friday....hope you have all been going good guns....i had a great weekend away for dd1s birthday, FIL came up ,he likes the finner things in life...so we ate out for lunch and dinner most days and if we werent eating out we were cooking muscles in wine and butter and cream or having a kids birthday party with cup cakes and sausage rolls, drank a fair amount of red wine and indulged in icecream and cake and pasta lunches!! basically not how i would normally eat....SOOOOOO....back on it tomorrow!!
beckoes sounds like your DD had an awesome celebration. What yummy food. Sounds mouth watering.
Sterla yumm on the icecream. I think that is the key not to overindulge. You can still enjoy those things without going overboard. Thats one of my biggest problems is I can't stop at just a moderate or lite serve (could eat half the table and plate to) Way to go on the bike ride and that its getting easier.
Doing well with eating. DH and I went on our big walk again, this time I pushed DS1 in the pram, so 15kg of child as well as the pram...my goodness it made such a huge difference! I was buggered by the end of it!
I am disappointed though because I still haven't lost anything. THough I've had a couple of pretty bad days, I still thought I would have lost a little. I have been doing really well for over a week (except two days I think). I have been exercising, although not daily, and not really hard most days, I have been moving more than I normally do, so I thought I could expect to have lost a little at least. But I do feel better in myself. I suppose that's something.
Well done 3LM on the big walk. Ouch on pushing all that weight. Surely it means heaps more calories burnt right? Shame you haven't been rewarded with a loss. Boo to the scales. Did you do your measurements again? Definatelty something if your feeling better within yourself.
Weigh in today and I lost 1.3kilos this week. Pretty happy with that. I've changed my plan a little and started doing a little out of michelle bridges book crunch time as thats the program I plan on starting come September. Actually the preseason starts in less then 2weeks now. I'm excited. 200grams to go and I've lost the 1st 10kilos. Hoping to get another 10 off but I honestly don't know if I will be able to get that much off. My goal for the Michelle Bridges one will be to get below 70. Not sure what happened last night but I got up a few times and each time that room started spinning and I thought I would collapse. I ate a bigish meal (baked chook, home made potato deep fried chips and fatty pasta. Then 2 pieces of cake) Something I shouldn't have eaten so its not like I had low blood sugars or anything like that. Was feeling guilty about my weigh in today so I did 35mins on the bike for 300cals burnt. Not sure if something I am doing made me feel like that or not but it was very unpleasant.
Mildez that is ace hun!! You know what? I bet you can lose the next 10 kgs - I bet at the start of this journey you wondered if you would be able to lose the first 10 kgs and you have!!!
I have been doing ok - busy with work etc. and I haven't been as good as I should be this week - having said that I have done things like have a cupcake at work, a few weeks ago I would have had numerous pastry things ( I LOVE savoury!) sausage rolls, party pies, then had some dip with cheeses and bikes and then had the cupcakes and whatever chocolate I could find. Putting it out there like that sounds gross and that was just in 30 mins for morning tea! So I guess, "in moderation" seems to be working for me. I am on level 2 of 30 day shred, it is a killer, and I am going to register for a couple of fun runs coming up in Sept/Oct/Nov in Melbourne!! I think regular exercise is definitely a key for me! I weighed in today and have dropped to under 63 for the first time in years! So excited but have doubts because I use my Wii for weigh ins - it seems to be fairly accurate but I dunno - we have a set of digital scales but my weight can fluctuate up to 1kg from one step on, step off and on again and bang there is 1kg so I doubt it's accuracy is any better than the Wii!
Anyone else use their Wii fit for weigh ins? Maybe we need to invest in a super dooper set of scales!!
Tanstar I often weigh midweek on my wiifit and it always says I'm about 1kilo heavier then my other scales say. I do it in my PJ's first thing in the morning and always say my clothes weigh 1kilo. When I weigh on Thursday with my normal scales I have no clothes on. So basically there is little difference between them. About 1kilo with the wiifit saying I am a little heavier. Yes your right. I definately didn't think I would loose the first 10kilos as quickly and easily as I have (its taken over 3months with a 5-6week break in the middle). I'm not saying its been easy but it was mainly a mind thing. As soon as I realised I needed to be accountable and responsible for what I was putting in my mouth and for the lack of exercise and ignore DH efforts to ruin it and changed my habits it has actually come off quiet easily. Maybe the BF is helping I don't know. It was definately the mind thing that I needed the most help/support with and I could not have done it without the help from you girls and another forum I am on.
Ladybird DH hasn't really commented much about my new appearance. Occassionally when something obvious happens he will say he has noticed I've lost alot of weight. Last night he ask me if I was going to eat all my T-bone so he must be a little observant of my diet changes. I think he was disappointed when I said yeap its all mine lol. The good quality red meat I don't skimp on as I think I need the iron and protein in it. Then the night before he asked me why I was putting pasta on my plate and said isn't it to fatty. He was not happy that I wanted to ride the bike instead of going to bed with him to watch a movie (thats our nice time together where I usually give him a massage whilst we watch) I told him I had to get up to 300cals first and I took the bike into our bedroom door so I could do both. I've been forcing myself to do the bike every night. Sometimes I have to do that really late after I get baby DD to bed but its obviously working as I am eating a fraction more and still loosing just over 1kilo a week. I know its more then the recommended amount but TBH if I loose only small amounts I loose my motivation and end up gaining twice as much. When I am rewarded with results it keeps me going. I know thats going to change soon as the less I have to loose the harder its going to be. I've got 5.1kilos to go until I'm back to my pre-preg weight with no3 (and 15 before I'm back to my pre-preg weight with no2) I'm very happy with where I am at. Thats until I go shopping and realise I still have so long to go. Buying the bike was definately the best thing I've done. I can't say I enjoy it but atleast I have a decent exercise opportunity inside that I didn't before. I was relying solely on the wiifit which just didn't cut it.
Tanstar. Well done on that shred DVD. I only tried it once and I got 10mins into it. It was so hard. Its on my to-do list. Can't wait until my heart rate watch arrives so I can do it and see how quick it is to burn the calories. Don't be embarrassed about your morning tea intake. I could easily eat triple that and still be looking at something to snack on. I loved binge eating. I really miss it actually. But I miss looking nice more and feeling good about myself.
Sorry i have been MIA!! Had a few busy days!! I ended up going into Canberra on Tuesday and was very good and had NO MACCAS!!! My friend did however have some bikkies there and i ate three, but we had a good healthy lunch of ham and salad, and some popcorn for afternoon tea! I didnt get much excercise in, but we did go for a walk to the park and i had a good run around with the kids for a while! I stuffed up come dinner time though as DH bought pizzas for easy dinner (its an hour and a half drive home once he finishes work.. so neither of us were up for cooking at like 8:30) I had less than i usually would- but still i had some!! Then it was DS's birthday on Wednesday so it was a day of fun things. i didnt so much over eat, but again no excercise. And then come dinner time.... cake... i just had a little bit!!!!
Yesterday i was back to it... i did 40 mins on the bike during the day and then another 30 mins after the kids went to bed, had one more peice of cake, but worked it into my calories. And i hopped on the scales today feeling very scared... and i have had a small 500gr gain. Which is actually better than i thought after over eating and not excercising over the last few days!! But i am back into it now!! Bring on the wii and the bike today!!!!!
Tanstar... I do the daily thingy on the wii and weigh in there as well as my scales.. i have found that the wii is usually a kilo or so lighter than my digital scales.. i always click the light clothing too, so i would say that has something to do with it. When i weigh on the digital scales i am in my pj's first thing in the morning, by the time i get on the wii its usually mid morning (honestly, i am usually still in the same clothes lol) but i have eaten breakie or whatever. I think they are reliable enough, as long as you always use them, but if your going between two scales then pick one and stick with that as your official weigher.. for me thats my digitals- and i just smile when the wii tells me i am lighter, even though i know im probably not !!!!
Mildez... I love my bike too!!!! That and my wi dance workout, the wii fit isnt enough for actually losing weight, although i am hoping that by still doing it i am toning a bit more as well as losing weight!!! Well done on your success so far!!! You should be really proud of how small you have become
Sorry for not many more personals- i will try to come back later!!!! Bye for now!!!!
Hi,
Been MIA also, but intentionally as i have had a bad week... Been good in the day, the evenings have come up and bitten me again, but now that i am confessing my sins, i hope to be back on track today and still manage to have a slight loss or maintain te
I have been walking EVERY day and my step count has been around the 13000 mark each day. My knees have taken a bollocking and any high impact stuff is starting to agrivate them so the 30ds has been on hold this week, although going to try and give it a go again today.
Cool thanks ya'll! I was more worried about the fact that the digi scales can say something like 64.3 for eg. then I will get off and get on again and it will say 65.3? then on again and it could say 63.9 - WTF!! Am I meant to just average it out? Wii is easier and seems a wii bit more consistent
Off to finish cooking chicken soup for my sick girlfriend. Have a good day ladies oh and Mildez - when I first did the 30 day shred I only managed half of it as well, but have slowly built up my fitness - also if I am finding a section too hard I just go back to squats with boxing and that keeps my heart rate up without having to jump etc.
Sorry no other personals right now, I have other things I should be doing and this will be fairly quick!
Still no loss on the scales for me. I'm wondering if I weighed myself properly the first time I did it, because I feel like I have lost some, and DH said I look like I have too. It's not the scales either, because they are working for DH, who is losing about 1kg a week, and I am soooo NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!!!!!!! I even put on 100g last night. I will have to stop weighing daily, but I just want to see some sort of incentive of a actual loss of weight, I just don't get it! I am sticking to CK and my calorie intake is right, often a little low (not too much only about 100cal) especially if I have exercised. I'm not exercising so much that I would be gaining muscle at the rate that it would cause me to not be losing, well I seriously doubt it anyway! I'm only walking at the moment, nothing truely strenuous either except the other day pushing DS1 in the pram on my big walk, that was tough! But my walk today was not fast, probably slow even....I dunno. But I am not going to stop trying. I really need to lose weight and my kids are noticing me exercising and eating healthy foods and DD has started to ask if the foods she is eating are healthy or not. We are talking about sometimes foods and every day foods, and she's drinking lots of water, instead of asking for cordial and having meltdowns when i say no (they only get it once a day if that)!
Ah well....gotta go and do some housework I suppose, ho hum!
Hang in there hun, I bet you start seeing a result because you are doing so well exercising regularly and eating well. Setting an example for my kids is so important too, Izzy was watching me and copying me doing my 30 day shred the other day and goes - "mummy are you tired?" because she had to sit down after jumping like a loop head and I said, yeah I am but that's ok because it is good for me!
Just downloaded Jillian Michaels Yoga meltdown today - OMG it's ace!! Serious workout! I only did 15 mins because I couldn't stand working out with mess around me and had to do the housework instead but am going to give level 1 a go again tonight! Nice to be able to mix it up a bit! Off to cook my roast chook dinner!
Start over now Ginger. Just because you have had unhealthy food today, doesn't mean you have to keep on going. Choose to have a healthy dinner. You don't have to keep on eating junk today, or tomorrow, or the next day. Start again now.
Ginger, hop back on the wagon, weigh in with me on Monday and we'll do it all again next week.
3LM - I like that little mantra you have there "You don't have to keep on eating junk today, or tomorrow, or the next day. Start again now" I like that a lot especially when you need to re-focus.
We have had nasty gastro in the house this whole week. I was out of action for a day or two and the girls had various degrees of sickness on different days and husband has had it the last 2 days (of course he is worse than all of us ) I still don't feel great so I'm not pushing it. I did however weigh in this week (normally it is Monday) and I'm at 74.2kg - woohoo. I really hope I don't see 75 on Monday when I officially weigh in. Unfortunately I didn't really lose my appetite like the others hahaha
Have a great weekend everyone. We've had lovely weather the last few days but it's getting cold again from tomorrow.
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting - I'm always reading, but can never find time to post!
I have still been quietly going about my business - haven't fallen off the wagon yet! Yay! I had my first really difficult day a couple of days ago. I'd been up more times than usual with DD, then got up for the day with DS at 5.30am. I think it was just from being more tired than usual. However, I didn't really do too badly as we don't really have anything too bad in the cupboard anyway. That's definitely a good tip - don't have junk food in your pantry! I find I'll eat it if it's there, but if it's not there I don't miss it.
I've still been keeping up with riding the bike of a night after the kids are in bed. I've been sticking to 20 minutes, but I'm starting to find that is getting easy, so I think I either need to turn up the resistance or increase the time. Not sure which - anyone know which is better?
My new pram arrives next week too - so I'll finally be able to go out walking! I'm excited about that!!!
It was weigh in day for me today. Am pretty pleased - I've lost 1.4kg and 1.5cm from my waist! It's more than the recommended amount, but I'm honestly not overdoing things or not eating enough. I really think breastfeeding must just be speeding things along! I'm about a kilo off what I was before I fell pregnant with DD... and still about 30kg of a healthy weight for my height . I'm just trying to take it one step at a time - my first goal is to have lost 10kg... this will put at me lightest since before having kids. At the moment I'm feeling fairly confident about it all . The key for me has been essentially cutting junk food out of my life (haven't touched it since I started), but not being too obsessive with what I can/can't eat either. I indulged in a few a homemade cheese and bacon scrolls yesterday, but it's better than the maccas or full block of chocolate I was eating! Also, actually exercising seems to be helping. I was doing none before, now I try and get on the bike most nights. I can't say I particularly enjoy the bike - but I'm doing it and already I'm noticing my fitness improving.
Sorry for lack of personals... Just want to post this before my computer eats it or DD wakes up though! Will try and do personals later .
Sterla that is fantastic news on your loss for the week and improvement in fitness. Thats great that your so close to your pre-preg weight.
Tinsel yeah on staying under 75kilos. Thats my next goal to see 75. Hope the Gastro is gone from your household.
Ginger I too would try and jump straight back on the wagon sooner rather then later.
3LM that sucks that the scales haven't gone down. Hopefully they just drop all of a sudden.
I too fell of the wagon yesterday. Jumped back on lastnight and did 45mins on the bike for 400cals. I hope it helped. I ate goodness knows how much cupcakes, cake and larger portions. I don't know why I did it. Now my stomach feels like its sitting on my legs as I sit here and it feels gross.
