Hi Girls, I've come to join this forum... my name is Mother Goose and I'm FAT! I weight about 115.3Kg I am embarking on a lifestyle change with the aim of losing a LOT of weight and getting fit again. I am starting PT sessions today (eek!). I also have a blog (see below) which I am posting to daily to help keep track of my intake vs expenditure and also to keep me accountable. I'll let you know how I go at the PT session!

    Hi there, ladies

My name is peanutter (what? of course it is!!) and I've been TTC since 1 September 2008, and I have been trying to lose weight since the age of 6.

My weight at its lowest was 62kgs in year 12, but I was unhealthy and very stressed and had glandular fever.

My last healthy-ish weight was more like 80. That sounds like a lot, particularly for my height (160) but atm I'm around 100kgs and a size 14-16. So the plan is (and has been for a while!) to get to 80, and get a Drs opinion as to whether I can healthily loose more.

I'd got down to low 80s from 109kgs over about 3 years, but this year I've started studying and working, and the weight has crept back on, and the last 10 kgs have lept on over the past 6 or so weeks because I've been comfort eating due to exam stress and TTC blues ...

So hi! That's me! And I'm looking forward to losing weight with you other ladies over the next few months... and hopefully getting pg too!

I'm introducing myself now, so that after my exam (this coming Monday) when I have no excuses, I've already taken this step, and so have to be accountable to the decision...

    Bye!

welcome peanutter: good to have some goals, and sometimes i think the whole BMI thing is a bit ambiguous.
what if you're havy boned ?or a small frame, they need to take these things into consideration too. but only you know where you are comfortable and you can set your goals to that.
    good luck

AFM: well i am still sick, actually prob lost weight as got the flu, had it for 3 days and hardly eating anything, just feel so crappy.

get back into serious healthy eating sometime ?

    Evening!

Just downing the last of my 2L of water as we type! First time in almost a week I have drunk 2L....for some reason ...well I have two kids so my reason for living on coffee when I am sick is to stay awake! I was going tosay that for some reason I prefer coffee when I am sick! lol

JBM - Hey......you can recover from that! First you have to get healthy again ina non-ill way...iykwim! Lots of Sorbelene for your poor sore nose.I pack the stuff on when I am forever wiping my nose.

Well, I have just signed up to do the 12 week challenge here on BB. Never done one before so I am really hoping my pride and fear if failure come shining through so I can shift some of my baby belly and house beast butt!
    Anyone else joiningup?

Best go and put DS#1 to bed before UnderBelly starts.

    hello all

just thought i'd say hello to everyone.
i've been lurking for a few weeks, but decided to join and stuff.

i have lost a whole lot of weight since i started (sept 2008) but since i just mc last month, i decided i needed to lose the rest of my weight before we ttc again.

i just _cant_ budge this stupid 83rd kilo, the lowest i've managed to get down to is 82.8 and then i'll gain the same stupid kilo over and over again.

my scales are just simple coles variety ones that only do mass, so i'm hoping my emerging leg muscles (i have definition in my calves, i havent seen that in about 15yrs!) are the reason why the scales are stuck

    Hi mmm!
Congratulations - 20kg is an incredible amount to shift! Sorry to hear of your sad loss, as chezza said, we have been through similar losses, but are both finding that a fitness focus is a great way forward.
My scales are Kmart ones! They do the job - I think as long as you're using the same ones, and weighing yourself at the same time of day, you should be OK.

Hey chezzy-pops, got a hot dress for the wedding?

YAYAYAYYYY 70.6kg this morning which is a loss of 800grams wooohooo I'm so excited! I have now lost 2.2kg in 4 weeks This weight loss thing is much more exciting than the ttc game! For starters I get a weekly dose of excitement when I have my weekly weigh in and I have a daily thing to strive for (staying on the calorie count)... Gosh I think I will be smiling for the rest of the day

Snugglybean you sure do make me smile I have not got a dress for the wedding yet but I wore one to a wedding in November and it still fits and I love it.... BUT it might be too cold for that one, I will wait and see how much weight I loose and what the weather is doing

    # Make water your favorite drink. A person must have a minimum of 8 glasses of water in a day. Avoid taking soft drinks or carbonated beverages; moreover replace them with water. Water helps in reducing weight in the most effective manner.
    # Don't stuff yourself with food in a single sitting; instead have 5 to 6 small meals or snacks in a day. Eating several small meals helps the body to release less insulin, which keeps blood sugar steady and helps to control hunger.
    # Make a habit of walking. Instead of driving car to the nearby market, prefer walking down. Walking is more important for people in sedentary jobs. Walk for at least 45 minutes every day; it helps in burning extra calories.
    # Keep small plates for serving food because a study shows that the less food put in front of us, the less food we'll eat. So downsize your food plates and coffee mugs, and say goodbye to those extra calories.
    # Eat more vegetables during meals as water-rich foods like zucchini, tomatoes, and cucumbers reduce your overall calorie consumption. Some other water-rich foods include soups and salads; they are good source of nutrition.
