Hi guys! I was sore this morning as I got a calf cramp on Wednesday at soccer but kept going. Maybe I should have taken it a bit easier. But I wasn;t sure I have pulled something or just a big build up of lactic acid from the cramp so I did a low impact video this morning (power pilates). Still worked up a sweat and calf definitely feels a bit better for the workout. I really want to jog or do the high impact video tomorrow though because I am going to a party tomorrow night and it just sucks my tummy in that little bit more. he he! Actually can't wait to go out and shake my booty! Its been so long!

Way to go Nettie on the double reps!! WOOOO HOOOO! Now, do it again!
    I did!

Did heaps last night - including sit ups. Felt a bit rough this afternoon, but I'm putting that down to backing into a tree at 10 this morning All good - only very minor damage done..

I'm gonna do them again tonight... the bicep curls I did more than 100 of last night (normally do 20 in a rep!) and the 'waddles' (no idea what they're normally called - side to side wiggles with dumbells in hand) I did another 100.

Normally with sit ups I can't do 20 in a row (well, they're more like crunches because I can't sit all the way up ) - but last night I did 20, rested for a bit, then did another 20! woot!

Felt really good and I hope to do some more stuff tonight!

    Wow Nettie..you go girl

krysalyss: Shaking your booty is a form of excerisie, enjoy

daniellabella: getting rid of pudge is good! Must be nice to know something is working finally with your thyroid.

Well, on a whim I did Combat this morning. Decided not to go to gym when I first got up and then got an invite to do Combat at the gym at 10:30am, inspired me to go today then can relax tomorrow. I might get up and do Attack, see how I go
The guy that takes this Combat class is quite funny. Everyone stands at the back as he has a persperation problem and it sprays over everyone in the front
He has heaps of energy which is very contagious.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

at least he can say he works up a sweat Heather! poor guy though! Good on you for doing combat today!

Go Netts!!!!!! Good work! Sorry to hear about the tree though!

How's the calf Kryss? Enjoy your night out!!!

Winter - how are you doing? LOL at putting your DH through the paces!

Leesa - how are you going? How are you managing being back at work?

CQ - where are you hon?! Hope you're ok!!!

AFM - I've not done much this week due to my horrid roster. I even had to postpone my appointment with the new trainer again!!! BUT I was able to see him this morning. The verdict is a wee mixed at this point. He was nice enough and he was firm (which is what I need). He was hands on when needed - correcting and supporting my hips during a particular exercise. He was supportive and encouraging... but it didn't feel genuine if that makes any sense. And there were a few (read several) exercises he struggled to remember how to do! The studio itself was a little worn but ok. It got crowded when I was leaving - you can't really have more than 2 clients and 2 trainers in there!!! But it was pretty good at the time I was there. I haven't booked another session yet as I didn't have my roster on me but I WILL book another session. I will do 3 or 4 sessions before I make a final decision. I'm trying not to compare A to D but it is difficult... I need to remind myself that it took a little while for D and I to build the rapport we have - it wasn't instantaneous. But yeah, I've tried a new person... will see how we go!

OH! And I've lost a kilo

You girls are so impressive with all these classes and things you do!
I only really get wii fit workout, only gives me small workout. Df thinks if I can still talk thru exercise I'm not going hard enough but how do I get that with just wii? Can't get to the gym by time I paid for membership and then creche fees for 2 kids while I'm there gets to exxy.

On the up side put my cargo pants on today that I haven't worn for ages and they were so much easier to do up, woohoo.

Hi Shellbell, I definitely think anyone can get fit without going to a gym. You just need to have a think about some exercise and then go to the park as a family and take turns doing things & watching the kids. Run between trees, do some lunge walks, use any stairs as a stepper machine, use the park bench for tricep dips, do squats, pushups and burpies. Watch Biggest Loser and choose some exercises that you would like to try and then go and do them. It doesn't matter if the first time doesn't feel like a great routine, you'll get something figured out. Make sure you & your DH support & push each other while you are doing it & get the kids invloved! Have fun!!

Not sure if I said here that I got a permanent job where I am which means I can keep going to the gym. I was on a contract and all that was going through my mind is "how will I keep up my fitness when my contract finishes and I don't have a gym right near my office?" LOL Now I don't have to worry about that! Plus where I work has lots of hills and steps so there's many ways to exercise without the gym too.

I think you can def get fit without a gym! I've done it before! Dance around home, walks, like Winter said, use park equipment! My DH actually takes DD to the park then does push ups on the different things Find some good stairs and go up and down them - take them two at a time to get a better glute workout. You can use things like cans of food, bottles of things or packs of things for weights. Start with a 500g tin in each hand to do different weights, then increase to other weights. Old cordial or milk bottles (with handles) filled with things like rice, sand, or pebbles make great easy to handle weights!

Then there are things like squats, lunges, tricep dips... all can be done at home! Invest in a fitball, they usually come with exercise instructions and can be a very good workout!

Danni - YAY for contract being extended!!!!!!!!!

Well... I'm SORE today! It's a mix of good and bad sore for me. I love the good... bit dubious about the bad though!!! Am being very careful with movement today and will do some major stretching throughout the day... and intend to get on my treadmill later!!! Depending on my left glute, I will do some more lunges as well... and the exercise program that D has prescribed for me whilst he's away...

i am finding just small amounts of fitness are working for me ATM. i am so busy and i know if i joined at the gym i wouldm't have the time to go to many classes. so i have been just doing some walking, up and down the driveway ( it's long ok) and some smaller walks when i've got time, even around the block. i did 10 laps of drieway with DS 1 yesterday and that was good.

i have lost 3 kg since 1st of jan, when i restarted my goals for this year.

keep up the good work guys.

well done on the loss JBM!

Well, I got on the treadmill earlier - 30 min including incline. Followed by lunges up and down my garage (between 20-30 lunges), plus squats, plus some core work... by the end, my legs were JELLY! Still are a bit and it's been a couple of hours since I finished! LOL BUT, I keep telling myself that the lunges and squats will make great thighs and a great butt!!!! had I had any strength left in my legs I would have done some step ups as well! Tomorrow I'm planing core strengthening stuff, more treadmill time, some arm work (what I call butterflies), some bicep curls, I'll probably do some more squats and lunges (because I want that killer ass!)... and then I need to work out what to do about my Mummy Tummy!!!!!

MG - the cheapest way to get a brazillian butt lift is to hold a squat low and for a long time . Make sure though your butt is no lower than the top of your knee cap though! I can't believe D didn't get you to stretch , that astounds me sista!!

Winter - I seriously think when you reach your goals you should think about moving into PT...you clearly get a buzz out of putting DH through his paces - and thats what its all about.

JBM - well done on your loss, awesome work!

Danni - congrats again on your job hun. And double yay for you able to continue going to the gym. I agree you do not need a gym to lose weight, however sometimes certain ppl need the motivation kick and get it from being surrounded by others. Whether that be in a gym or not is another question...!

Shell - sorry, keep the Wii for 'incidental activity' and get outdoors with your exercise, I think Winter has given you some great suggestions .

Hi Krysalyss, leckert, nettie, CQ, heather and Hollo!! How are you girls doing?

still here but going slowly. didn't put pedometer on yesterday - DS likes to play with it when I'm wearing it and he feeds but have only got to about 8000 steps today - that's more than either of the weekend days last weekend so that's an improvement but still want to get it up to 10 000 every day. Aiming for at least 12 000 steps on school days (would like to think I'd manage 14 000 but aiming for an achieveable goal first....)

Keep up the good work Leck!!!! And I agree with aiming for small goals first - keep up the good work!

    How is everyone going?

I was in absolute AGONY today!!! Stairs were a nightmare - squatting for my locker was hell, bending to pick anything up off the floor was horrid! I was almost reduced to tears on numerous occasions! But... I LOVED every minute of it! It was great!!! And, just because I didn't think I was in enough pain, I got on my treadmill and did 30 minutes of incline!!! Sure it wasn't a massive incline, but it was an
incline! And it HURT! The whole 30 min!!!! And again, I LOVED it! THEN, I went and did some boring core work. no arm work because I have pilates tomorrow and need my arms for that!

And do you know the best bit? My back is holding up!!!!! It is coping REALLY WELL with this new work and routine!!!! Hopefully it doesn't relapse! I am so excited!

    Hope everyone is going well!

Hi everyone! I had a major pig out weekend so have lots to work off! Did some soccer drills in the backyard yesterday - in the rain which was lovely! Pretty hard work though. Hoping to do either a hard video today or go for a jog. Missing the jogs but the rain is so heavy here and the cars drive so fast I don't dare.

can anyone let me know the general weight incriments. i never know what to put on, they say add a third or take of half etc but i think i need to know before i go so i know exactly which weights to bring over to begin with.

so my start up weight i usually put 3 1/2 on each side. so can anyone tell me the general weights i need for the other tracks?? or is that me being a pain in the bum? hehe

    Thanks Leck.

I am STILL sore today! VERY sore actually! I had to take my anti-inflammatories this morning which did not make me overly happy. BUT, I am VERY happy after pilates!!! My physio has me doing some much more challenging exercises now and I always feel GREAT after a session! But the BEST bit is that at the end of the session she asked if I was happy to continue with 1:1 sessions or if I wanted to do group. She said I am ready to do group! Because of how weak and unstable my core, hip, and back have been, I've NEEDED 1:1 sessions... but I still will be doing the 1:1 because I really don't handle group sessions at ALL. She hadn't realised my fear of groups and was apologetic because some of my sessions have overlapped with group times. But, she said my back is MUCH better and handling these new exercises really well! So so SO happy!!!!!!!!! I am DYING to tell D this because then hopefully he will be more willing to work my lower half and then I won't have a NEED to have two trainers!!! Then I just have to deal with the other issue

Thanks for the great ideas girls! Been putting some into practice, thinking tho I would do better if I joined group training session or something, I do feel I need someone to push me to go that bit harder. I know I'm not pushing myself enough.
