I think once again it is one of those things that really depends on the child. With DD2 she will often not feed to sleep, or want to be jiggled, patted etc, nor does she want to be left alone. Sometimes she just wants to lie in my arms or beside me and have a sob before going to sleep. I admit I hate doing it when she wants it, but everything else at that time just makes her so distressed.

Probably a bit far to call it a parenting style.
