You know when I first read this article I thought 'yeah, that makes sense'. But the more I think about it the more I disagree. When I hear my baby cry I instinctually want to soothe her and calm her and this includes rocking her or feeding her. I think comfort sucking is just as important as sucking for food.
I also remember reading in 'What every parent needs to know' about what happens in a baby's brain when they are allowed to cry for an extended period. And if I did this it wouldn't be a short period of crying my DD would certainly put up a fight, lol.
