HI DB - i am taking metformin, but don't have diabetes. one of the factors that many (but not all by a long shot) PCOS sufferers have is a high level of insulin resistance which can add to the hormonal imbalance side of things. they use the metformin to try to reduce the effects of the IR - so it's not auto prescribed to all PCOS sufferers are TTC - HTH
