Ladies i just want to pop in and give you a little bit of hope. i know how truly devastating every failed attempt (or early) loss can be.
i've noticed a couple of you mention going to IVF, and i want to say it's well worth the effort. we had five IUI attempts last year, then onto IVF. even though both fresh and frozen transfers weren't successful long term (one chemical pregnancy from three transfers), we were able to get confirmation that hubby's swimmers WERE able to get into the egg and fertilise them, so it gave us confidence that we could do this.
while waiting for the IVF clinic to be "local" again (it's only here every few months seeing we live in the sticks) we jumped on the IUI bandwagon again this year, resulting in one chemical pregnancy in July, and the baby i'm growing now is from that second IUI. it's taken a lot of time, a lot of heartache and pain to get here, and the chances of success with IUI aren't as good as IVF simply because there is more chance - will egg and sperm meet, vs confirmation of a viable embryo being placed back - but it can and DOES work sometimes!
