Hi girls, guess what we had snow today! It has already melted but at one stage it was snowing quite hard and the ground was white. Have had lots of imaginative games this week as kids have been stuck inside for over a week now....

Glenny, hope the meeting with your principle goes well. On the sleeping issue, did you know that you shouldn't lie on your back for extended periods after 12 weeks, as the weight of the baby can press against the blood vessels returning blood from the legs and organs and cause problems such as decreased blood flow to the baby, changes in blood pressure etc. So on the side is a better option. Try a pillow under the tummy or between the legs or both maybe??? I think that if the sleeping thing does not improve you may want to go on leave sooner rather than later as you will probably be really tired towards the end anyway with the heat. My first bub was born mid Jan and I worked until 36 weeks (only 3 days a week too) and in hindsight that was too long for me as when I did finish I spent a week catching up! And the heat was really exhausting too. I know it feels to feel guilty at leaving (I work with families and some can take it quite personally when you say you are going on leave etc) but in the long run, your family is more important, starting with yours and your bubs health. Every mum of every kid in your class has been there before remember, and none of them will think bad of you for leaving if you need to! You need to be fully rested too in the lead up to labour and looking after a new bub, so please don't be afraid to put yourself first.
I probably sound rather bossy but I am trying to impart some wisdom that has taken me a while to work out - that you have to look after no 1 or you will not be able to look after anyone else. It has only taken me two kids, working too much, not being able to then finally learning how to say 'no' to people, post natal depression and the difficult journey of TTC to realise this! So if I can help anyone realise this earlier I will be happy.
One thing I have also come to realise is that other people (eg your kids in the class) WILL be ok without you! So I hope this perspective helps you. Just remember whatever you decide go with your gut feeling and you will be right.

Brunette, glad the scan went well. My sister also had a low lying placenta early in pregnancy, and by 30 weeks it was ok and she had a vaginal birth. So I hope this is what happens in your case.

Hi everyone else, hope all is well.
