Hi Tascha.
I don't want to scare you but am just giving you my experience.
I had two failed indctions (gel then drip). Gel: 8hrs after having it my waters broke naturally....labored for roughly 10hrs only to have contractions disappear (got 45secs apart though but only 3cm dilated). Drip: within half hour of having it, DDs heart rate shot all over the place....about an 1hr later I had her via c/section.
If I had my time again I'd wait another 3-4 days as I was 40+6 days when I got booked in for a Tuesday night induction but it was initially going to be the Thursday. They had to take me Tuesday because the hospital didn't have the room for me on the Thursday apparently. I often wonder if I'd insisted on the extra few days whether the whole thing would've just happened naturally............but who knows, I was happy with my experience, doctors and hospital and have a healthy child...that's all I care about.
I have read however that there is an increased risk of c/section by having an induction....but that's only what I've read around the traps, I haven't heard this directly from a professional medical source so it might be incorrect.
Wishing you a wonderful birth experience.
