So we have 5 mums pregnant with twins now & 5 with twins already, with 9 of us all together as Tiff is pg with her second set. Me, Tiff, Clare, Tam & Jo all pg, & Tiff, Vanita, Justine, Odette & Fiona with twins already.

Is everyone involved with AMBA? We’re just getting started with them & I think it will be a really good thing. Have been to a morning tea & an antenatal night, & getting the Duette newsletter.

Fiona I asked you some questions in my last post about placenta, size difference etc as your boys are identical too.

Vanita I see you’ve updated your avatar since Dion arrived, nice outfit.

Odette, my plan re inducing is not to be, lol. If I get to 38 weeks, I’ll keep hanging on & just watch the bubs even more closely. We discussed a possible trip to Brissy if TTTS developed early in the pg, but now that I’ve come this far, if it did develop now we’d just get them born.

I’ve noted happily too reading back through these posts, that my babies should have their sucking reflex by now, woo hoo!

    Had another scan yesterday,
    Baby A 2326 g or 5lb 2oz,
    Baby B 3068 g or 6lb 12oz.

So in 5 days little one has only put on a few grams, & is just over 50th percentile growth rate now, but big one is off the scale. Still, all fluids, cord blood flow etc all fine. If TTTS developed now they would just get the babies born and they'd be fine anyway, so not really worried, other than it could interfere with my natural birth plans if we had to get it happening, but fine for now & another scan Wed next week.

AND, for most of the scan babies were both head down!!! I was thrilled, but then one moved back to transverse by the end of the scan. Goes to show they've still got plenty of mobility though, so looking good.

We picked up our twin stroller yesterday & assembled it, and it has the big girls dolls in it, a baby born and a smaller one. I was holding the dolls on my tummy to show their positions, and they're about the size of my babies, & I can't believe they both fit in there & can still move around so much, he he. We picked a Roger Armstrong one again, the cheapest, lightest & easiest to fold. Has enormous pump up tires though, but otherwise similar to Angus’ stroller.

I got a brace thing from the physio yesterday too. It's basically just a piece of elastic that goes around my hips like a belt. It feels great when I'm standing up, but I can't sit down or sleep in it, so basically it's useless! I'm not supposed to walk much now anyway.

My rib pain has eased a bit though, maybe since the babies moved.

Website is updated again Tam, just need to take a new belly pic today.

So Tiff, Clare, Tam & Jo, you’re all due pretty close together. Will have to cruise the belly buddies threads & keep an eye on you all.

Oh, and Clare I was thinking, it’s probably still a possibility yours are identical even though sep sacs & placentas. If they’re the same gender you might not find out for sure til after birth?

Yvette - Everything sounds so easy when someone else is leading the way LOL I should have no problems at the end of my time, I think I'm last? A girlfriend up in sydney has told me to join AMBA, which i will, but won't be able to get to any meetings. I think there are a few twin mums in town so hopefully will bump into them someday, I know two by sight only though!
8-[ 8-[ 8-[ WOW WOW WOW, Twin B is BIGGER than what Jack was when born 8-[ 8-[ 8-[ i'm getting a bit worried now, what happens if both mine are 9 pounders *ouch* LOL!

    Miky - Welcome aboard!

Welcome Miky! Your babies are only 9 1/2 weeks? I hope you'll tell us all about how it's going, how are you going with feeding etc. How was the birth? What advice do you have so far?

Jo I suspect by the time you give birth there will be more twins mums behind you. Hopefully the numbers on here will grow quickly as it's a great way to stay in touch with other multiples mums. Yes twin B is growing like crazy, I'm slightly concerned about the difference now, but we'll see how they're doing on the next scan on Wed. How are you feeling? I was quite tired & getting more nauseous at that stage.

Hi Miky and welcome. I am still new to this twin thing myself. So anything that you have to shed light on would be great.

Yvette, I too have just joined AMBA. I think it will be great to chat with others who have been there.

    Hey Yvette,
I was wondering how you were travelling. How are you feeling?
I was in AMBA for the first five years of the girls' lives and was even on the commitee!! I was the newsletter editor for our then local branch. I had heaps of fun! The best thing I found was the playgroups. We had clothes swaps and info days and picnics. My old branch shut down but I know there is one in the Hunter Valley, I think it's pretty big too, might have to look into it again!

Hey Miky, Welcome! How are you going with your little bundles?

    hi all,
still here, jst haven't had the time to post. You know all the free time we have with twins -NOT!
I love my AMBA group. They have been my lifeline and would very much recommend that you all join and PARTICIPATE!!!!!!
I go to playgroup with the kids and have since they were even a few weks old. I go for my sanity more than anything. Our club is a big one with 150 families, so we get anywhere from 40 - 60 kids and around 20 adults at playgroup each week. So nice to talk with other mums that are going through the same trials and tribulations!!!

Yvette, congrats on getting so far. You are a legend. I feel so sorry for you trying to carry those babes, but keep those legs together - won't be long now!!!

bTW girls, i found out that b/c we had twins we are entitiled to a free tummy tuck and sometimes if we breastfed, a free boob job. Apparently its one of the criteria for getting on the freebie list in a public hospital. Some of the other mums that i commicate on line to in another forum, are getting, or have had it! So there is finally a finacial incentive for having twins lolol

Mikey congrats on the birth - the time will fly. I promise that the fog will clear soon - like in another 12 months!!! hang in there and get as much help and sleep as you can!!

for those girls twin mums in waiting, hope the pg is going well. I know that it is not a comfortable thing but it sure as hell is worth it!!

As for me, everthing is good with me and the kids, busy trying to keep them entertained and wear them out - and me as well.
They have both just hit the next level of development, and it is getting easier. They now can be reasoned with and are remembering and applying their new knowledge to different and new situations.
I am finally starting to see long term rewards for all the hard work. AMEN

anyway off to start my work - another late one for me
    take care all

I was involved with AMBA for the first few years, and on the committee too, Tiff. found them a great source of support, especially in those early days!!!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their kids/pregnancy

Odette, do you have a website or anything about the tummy tuck & boob job. I'd love a tummy tuck but only want a boob lift, kwim.

the topic was acutally talked about in a forum but apparently they wen't to their doctor who then referred them to a specialist who decides if you qualify and puts you on the waiting list. Some of them also paid a small fee and managed to get it done almost straight away.
so yeah if you are serious i would speak to your local doctora about it.
    hope this helps
    take care

    Hi All,

It seems like only yesterday I was telling you all about my IVF tww. Now I am the very excited expectant mother of twins!!!

I am still very early (9wks). And could sleep my life away.

Very lucky to have a great DH looking after me like a princess and my four and 3/4 daughter is so excited to finally become a big sister.

I don't know where I would be without your threads to read as I feel like a new mother all over again the "unknown" about twins is quite scarey but we would not have it any other way.

Look forward to reading more of your great advice!

    Mel

Great to see everyone getting chatty in here.

Welcome Mel! How exciting, another new mum pg with twins. I very much relate to the sleeping thing, I was very sleepy in my first trimester with this pg, more than with the other 3.

    Thanks for the info Odette.

Congrats to all the newly pregnant mums with twins. I was tired during my whole pregnancy with the girls.
